Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When does the €1 offer end?

When does the €1 offer end?

I think it's like the December one, which lasted for the calendar month. I actually joined on 28 December, rang to cancel n 30 December, and got offers for the following five months.....9.99 for three months and 12.99 for two - saw out the rugby season for me.

Cool, will subscribe then on August 30th and that'll capture the UFC 177 a month later :D

You can also cancel on-line by filling out a form so happy days.

Rang the number on Friday, the woman on the line said it wasn't going through because the account had an order!? We deliberately chose the most basic package, so must have something to do with the €10 TV fee kicking in after six months. They said they'd try again on Monday, but haven't heard back yet.

for those of ye currently on €9.99 a month be careful and give yourselves plenty of time for renegotiating as i got a letter today from setanta informing me that the new price is €21.99 a month.

I'm currently in a 4 month €9.99 a month offer for july august sep and october.

The annual pass remains at €199 which works out at €15 p/m (with the extra month at €1)

That doesn't give them the opportunity to offer you a special deal when you cancel.....which I presume is something you want.

I was on the €9.99 a month for the last 3 months, and I emailed to give my notice of cancellation today.

They got back to me soon after, and the best they are offering for now is €12.99 a month for 2 months.

So I have declined that offer for now.

I emailed them back last night to see if I could get this offer.

They told me that they have no offers that do the €9.99 for 6 months.

However, they did offer me the €9.99 for 3 months, so I took that.

Yeah, I've been doing that a while now.

I wait until it's about 2 weeks before the deal is up, and I email them back to cancel.

Last night though they only offered it at €12.99 a month at first, but then I mentioned that I read that some people had got it at the €9.99, so they mailed back and said as I was a good loyal customer, they would offer it at the lower price.

    It's a good deal.

re ringing them if you are on a deal, you must contact them before your last payment goes out, otherwise if you decide to cancel you will be caught for a full price month.

currently i am on july aug sep oct at €9.99 a month with payment taken the start of the month. It is my intention to ring them on the 22 of september which is just over a week before october sub is taken, if they offer me a deal will take it if not cancel and see out the end of my deal.

Just wondering if anyone who finished up with Setanta at the end of May, has had a call from them offering any deal starting now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 91 ✭✭Joyce88

If I sign up for the offer this morning can I fill out the cancellation form today as well meaning it will be shut off in 30 days or how does it work?

    The details are here

Opting into the €1 offer means that you sign up and cancel online. No need for any 30 day cancellation notice with the offer. You just email them on the last day and you will be cut off immediately.

Are new satellite customers anyone who doesn't have Setanta at the moment? We had Setanta 4 or 5 months ago like, so that's why I'm unsure.

Do you think they would offer the 9.99 deal over email?

Do you think they would offer the 9.99 deal over email?

I have seen friends get it over email and some not get it. I just think it depends on the day and who you deal with.

I cancelled mine on friday as all they would offer me was €12.99 for two months.

This was the same offer the last time I cancelled.

So I cancelled and they rang me a few days before I was to be cut off and offered the €9.99 deal for four months. I am hoping they will do the same again this time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,251 ✭✭✭Juwwi

Did anyone cancel last week and get offered the 9.99 deal.

I rang tuesday to find out when l joined so l'd know when to cancel
and the girl said there was no 9.99 offers at the moment.

I was hoping they would help avoid all that hassle and just offer the 9.99. Especially when it's obvious that in a few days they will just ring back with the 9.99 anyway. I think I am just going to cancel on the website and then wait for the 9.99 offer. Only I'm thinking that if you cancel online they will ring back with the 12.99 offer as at that stage they still haven't had you refuse the 12.99. Sigh

Has anyone cancelled online? The form is asking me for a Customer Service Number but I have no idea what it is because Setanta never sent it to me.

30 days is up tomorrow and they are closed for the night.

They ask for that too... Might try putting viewing card in for both.

    Cheers.
