Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I've just been monitoring my HR for the last month tryna establish a base line. I'm trying to be really proactive about managing stress levels for when I'm back to work.

    Saturday 7th of September

    Was in bed for 13hours the night before. Wired to the moon when I woke up
    Was ridiculously excited about the finals of the Leinster Lifting League...not a nerve in sight.

    Arrived and our team captain told me and the other girl that the pressure was all on us to win our two matches so that we would get a draw against the other team. There's 4 on each team but the top two lads on the other team were definitely gonna win their matches so the only chance we had was for me and the other girl to do well.:pac::pac::pac:..we werent overly fussed or pressured by this cos then he informed us that if we do get a draw the winning team would be decided on kg lifted and our team would probs lose.

    No micro plates so all jumps were 2.5kg
    45kg/47.5kg/50kgx
    Absolutely delighted..first time trying 50kg in a comp setting and was really confident I'd get it...but overpulled it:pac: there's def a few more kg there :)

    Clean and Jerks

    60kg/62.5kg/65kgx
    60kg was so easy the lads were trying get me to jump to 65kg for my 2nd attempt...but a 5kg jump woulda been a tad too much for me at the higher end. Missed the jerk on 65kg at the end even though the clean felt uber easy

    Overall, no PBz, but delighted with how confident I was and how easy everything was...not having to make weight DEFINITELY makes me lift better.

    The other girl and I won our matches so we did end on a draw...totals were then counted and RWC won by 4kg:eek::eek::eek::eek: Absolutely ecstatic!!! Dunno how we did it..none of us were expecting that. We were only hoping for the draw.

    RWC are now standing in joint 1st at the end of the league in group 1:):):). There's only the playoff left between the winner of our group and the winner of group 2....dunno how they pick as there's joint first in our group. But in fairness the only team we lost to was the team that's in joint first with us so its probs only fair that they go through...but we'll see!

    Great lifting, you could see how relaxed you were.
    How come you don't need to make weight, is just like open division for women or something?
    Hope you's get to the playoff :)

    In a normal weightlifting competition you only compete against those of the same gender and same weight division. As weightlifting is not huge in Ireland..depending on the comp I could be the only one in my division or there could be up to 5 or 6 girls...so it isnt that competitive. The 63 and 69 classes have a load of girls in them but 53s and 58s isnt as popular.

    With the lifting league..the aim was to make it a team sport and not individual. We wanted it to be as inclusive as possible and have lads and girls compete against each other..but obviously there'd be measures in place to make it fair. Each team ranked their lifters 1-4..one being their top lifter etc...and then the 1s played off against each other, then 2s etc etc If a girl was matched against a lad then her total score got multiplied by 1.3 at the end to even off the playing field. Also..cos mass moves mass their had to be a bodyweight clause in it. So everyone weighed in, and after you matched against someone the lighter lifter got the bodyweight difference between them and their opponent added to their total.

    Sounds really complicated but it actually isnt. And it made it really competitive.

    Starting to come down with a headcold...so of course I decide to go train.#stupid

    Head was throbbing and with no real structure today was a waste

    Thought I was feeling much better. Went to yoga..turns out I was uber tight compared to normal.

    I can usually put my head to my legs but was getting nowhere near. Had to opt out of inversions and shoulder stands and they didnt feel good.

    Thursday 24th of September

    Still feeling completely flat. It's so hard to find the energy to deal with a classful of kids when you arent 100%.

    Decided I wasnt training. Went home, went to bed then changed my mind 2 hours later:pac::pac:
