Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Google Keep is truly one of those apps that you wonder how you ever lived without it.

It has saved my ass so many times with work, be it with lires fuel/miles covered, to location reminders and simple lists. To completing quotations,'calling customers back, and invoicing etc.

Simple apps are always the best ones.

It's good but I wonder if there are dedicated "shopping list" apps there?
Myself and the missus use Keep but a nice checklist type app would be handy.

We use Our Groceries for that. Works very well, instant sync and cross platform.

Out of curiousity, is there any way to sync the likes of Enpass (and other password managers) to browsers, so that when you access a site, it'll log in with the details provided in the manager?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,868 ✭✭✭donspeekinglesh

Lastpass has a plugin for Dolphin browser which will allow it to do that.

What are some streaming alternatives to AllCast? Have noticed that it is continuously awakens in the background.

I use Localcast, have found it very reliable. Phone doesn't tell me its running in background when not on, and my phone is VERY keen telling me when apps are running in the background.

I've been using Greenify, which lets me know when apps have been awoken, and have noticed that AllCast says it's been triggered by various things, like YouTube, All4, despite neither of these running at that time.

I have a huawei which has power management thing, and as I say, it tells me when stuff is running in the background, haven't had any warnings for Localcast. Worth a try, see greenify tolerates it?

    Great app!

Lastpass was great but its not so great on my phone anymore. App fill helper keeps getting disabled or not working because of an Accessibility issue. Galaxy S5 and later models are affected.
Trying to tweak a few things now to see if I can get it working any better but I doubt it will.

I tried a few when I first got Chromecast and I ended up sticking with Web Video Cast. I use it for sending streams to CC.
Ads are a bit intrusive in it though (free version). You could be in another app and this will pop up playing a video ad if you were using it in the background. Ads are on the phone only, not on whatever you're watching on TV.

Yeah but you can paste in the URL of anything that interests you and it will alert your email app the instant it drops, I have it watching dozens of bike parts, pc components, anything Ive ever missed in Bargain Alerts etc etc, nothing really compares to it, especially with this Chrome extension:

Getting to the alternative ending takes allot of unrelated strategies and is complicated. I doubt anyone could do them without help.

Here is a Spoiler guide to solving the alternative endings.

It seems a bit lacking in challenge so far a couple of chapters in tbh, no really obscure puzzles that would force you to actually think, just pressing switches, rotating stuff, sliding the right shape into holes etc, I haven't been stuck once so far.

When I do get stuck it's due to not seeing something I can tap into or doing a room in the wrong order. It's tedious tbh

Need for Speed Most Wanted on sale for €0.10

Wrong version for Ireland linked above

You'd need this Need For Speed Most Wanted ROW (Rest of World) version that works for Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,541 ✭✭✭duridian

That link is the North American version which will say your device is incompatible, no matter what device you own, because of region locking or somesuch.

I had the ROW version on my Wishlist and installed that version. Did not know there was different versions.

what websites do people use for checking for games?
    I often check http://pocketgamer.co.uk

http://droidgamers.com is the main one for me.

I also keep an eye on http://toucharcade.com. It's mainly an iOS game site, but a lot of games are on both platforms (eventually).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,644 ✭✭✭corkie

Don't visits sites but the Android section of Flipboard app, keeps me informed of releases, deals and posts from multiple sites.

    Occasionally check https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidGaming/ as well.

Massive buzz about Crashlands at the moment.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bscotch.crashlands
    http://www.androidcentral.com/crashlands-wonderfully-bizarre-arpg-worthy-your-attention
    http://toucharcade.com/2016/01/20/crashlands-review/ (iOS review)

It saves cross platform, so you can move from your android phone to your ipad to your PC (it's on iOS and Steam).
You will need to buy it 3 times if you want to do that, though. :)

Well I fell for the buzz, haven't played it yet. Think that's probably the most I've paid for a single game.

The fact you have to pay for each platform makes me a bit dubious. Much prefer how Hearthstone has done it, where it's free, but with microtransactions. Does this game have them?

Add another game to pile of which I won't play. I have a massive aversion to crafting based games. I prefer linear games.

I bought myself a Nvidia Shield tablet this week. It arrived today. Apart from a brief 2 week stint with an Android phone about 5 years ago, this is my first Android experience. This thread is obviously huge, so can anybody narrow down the best/most have apps for my new tablet?!

Monument Valley for a start game-wise. Other apps I always keep on my tablets are SeriesGuide, uTorrent, and ES File Explorer.

Monument Valley can be got for free through amazon underground!

The Talos Principle is another great game for your device.

The above link is for the full version, but you can also buy by the episodes: -
*** The Talos Principle is divided into six episodes with this initial purchase containing just the first episode. The remaining five episodes can be individually purchased in-game or all at once with a 40% savings via the Season Pass.***

Don't forget "The Room" series and/or "Oddworld - Strangers Wrath"

What apps are you using to access your SD Card? Is it formatted in a supported format and also doesn't exceed the size limit for the device.

Can you trying using an app like "ES File Explorer" to copy a file to your card.

Couldn't find your exact device on XDA. At your own risk, you could try rooting with the steps for a similar model.
