Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't think I've ever actually even been to the Bierhaus. Maybe once, even though I lived all around the city for a good few years lol. Just that it happened we rarely frequented that side of town, but have to say only ever heard good reports about the Bierhaus.

    So +1 for me. :)

Hi, I'm zeenie, i recently moved to Ireland. I've been here for a few months now and i don't have any friends and because of that i don't go out because I'd feel odd going alone out into places I don't even know especially when I'm not so good at walking up to people and sayings stuff. Please help. My life is boring right now. I just need friends I can socialize with.. thanks.

I'm in Galway three years and still feel like a newbie to the place,it's very hard to get to meet/befriend people. There's no place like home... But Galway is a close second.

    Hi All.

any help is appreciated. I have been in galway long time and no luck at all to build a circle of friends. tried almost all whats mentioned in the forum and the internet, still, no luck.

anyone has the same case?! feel free to help or join or even invite me out :-)

    thanks guys

Maybe the best thing to do is join some form of club/society... it's less daunting as your not thrust into a ''sink or swim'' situation(you can just do the activity until you feel more comfortable)... there are a few on here including the tag team, even if you have no interest in the activity why not even give them a try for a week or two to break initial ground?

Generally happens when they go into a long term relationship or get married. That is what I've found out anyhow from friends that I rarely see now :(

They could have something going on in their life too that they can't explain. Happened to me last year. I gave my phone to one colleague, forwarded the emails (work) to another and took off to the most random place I could think of (India).

Anyway, sometimes people need change and don't even know why or what themselves. That was my situation. I'm happy that the better friends understood that, and I still see them sometimes although I've made a LOT of changes. The one's that didn't .. well, we can all move on now anyway so no real harm done.

Found that Board Beers was really good for meeting new people! Never really did it before and it was great. Would really recommend it to people who have found it hard making friends in Galway!

Like others here, I would also be interested in meeting new people! I'm from Carlow and have found it hard the last year to find people to hang out with! Don't get home often so would love to have the craic with a few peeps now and then in Galway!!!:D;)

There was a thread around here for this very thing...

Anyways there's a few of us that have had meet ups from here and they've been great craic, have made some good friends, if you go to the Ladies Lounge and ask for permission to be part of the Private Forum there's more people looking to do the same thing there :)

There is a Cinema Club that meets every two weeks with the next meeting on Tuesday the 10th of August. You can find the details of the next meet here. If you're interested in books there is also a Book Club that meets every other Tuesday. The details can be found here. Alongside this there are also beers where people meet and have a few drinks. Make sure to keep your eye for these as they're good fun. However, if you're into your computer gaming, there is a Gaming Club that meets fairly regularly. Check here for the info.

Hm, we should also maybe set up a tea drinking club, where we meet up and drink tea and chat. Sure, why not? :p
