Between the burn from Ben Askren, Aldo giving post bell fight advice and the NSAC text I laughed my ass off!!

Great win for Ais and brilliant seeing ufc dublin again. Was great seeing paddy give that shoutout live. Magana has had a seriously messed up life man. Ref was seriously annoying 'work work work' where was he in tuf 19!! Very bad standup, shnakey pettis with the jedi mind tricks :D

She has a tough fight in penne next.

I wonder who Dana was on about being the next Ronda or was that just spoof to get viewers.

Yeah I'd say Penne is the toughest fight in the house for her. JoJo and Esparza are the top 2 but they don't do the damage to their opponents that penne does. All her fights she seems to set a tough pace and throw a lot of strikes.

I'd say it's Rose that Dana is talking about. Just her intensity and there hardly any preview for next weeks fight. Normally that means a quick finish.

Probably Spoof; I agree I think it could be Rose he is talking about. All Roses 3 pro fights are on fight pass; aggressive always going for submissions (mainly armbars).

Like she did in her second fight maybe on the show she pulls off quick subs leading to the Ronda comparisons? Shocks Jojo if she get past Chambers too maybe?

Either way hope I'm wrong but imagine however good she/someone else might be Dana will overhype it especially when it comes to TUF (except maybe that Uriah Hall K.O)

Didn't Ronda herself come out and say she thinks that Rose is going to be the next Ronda Rousey??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,613 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

    Impressive win for Rose.
I feel bad for Alex. I know some of her teammates in syndey and they train with us sometimes.

The other aussie, Bec, is a muppet though.

Great performance from Rose. Rose vs Jojo in a few weeks should be good.

Yeah that a massive 1/4 final.
Carla v Torres could be on the cards, but I've a feeling Bec wins.

alex is 35  what moisturizer is she using!!

The bitchiness was REALLY ramped up this week. Quite a few bullies in that group. Angela Magana being the biggest one IMO

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭stiffler123

Ya, some of those women are just horrible people. Torres the rightful winner anyway, she had the speed advantage over Rawlings and was able to hit and get out out of the way effectively for the most part. The staredown with Jojo and Rose at the end was class as well.

So glad Ais was able to smash Magana and Bec definitely dropped imo. The 'scrappettes' make felice look normal. Bec looked stronger but tecia was the better fighter. Both Dana and ais said they are not teammates, enough of the pettis melendez clique crap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,881 ✭✭✭Easy Rod

Actually glad ais isn't getting much screen time. Means she stayed out of all the necessary bitchiness and just got on with her job. People were speculating that it meant she wouldn't profress, but it seems the people getting the most screen time are eliminated already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,386 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Really big sob story this week, fight was so so but certainly the right decision.

Ya its gas the way JoJo,Jessica,Randa,Carla and Ais get limited screen time particularly Ais and Carla who is meant to be the favourite.

From the trailer it looks like Randa will be heavily involved next week alright but I guess thats only because shes fighting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,613 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

The first 1/4 final looks like a prelim round fight next to 3 semi finals.

    Means nothing at all imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,000 ✭✭✭wonderboysam

funny how they subtitle jojo !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 712 ✭✭✭Mean Laqueefa

Torres won the fight fairly, the bitchiness this week was shocking, Magana is quite honestly just being a bitch. Shes out of the comp and just there on screen for some type of shock value. Ais and JoJo typically no vocal again and im happy there staying out of all the ****e that goes on. That staredown at the end was great, really looking forward to that fight

This series is painful to watch, its gotten steadily worse with each show. The girl Tecia(?) who they tried to force to move rooms had no interest in discussing it because she was due to fight then next thing Tecia is being accused of being a drama queen, making a mountain out of a molehill and had her mental state questioned? wise up!

I didn't(at the time) like previous seasons when eliminated fighters got kicked out of the house but with the drama & sh*t stirring from eliminated fighters in this season I wish they would bring it back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 786 ✭✭✭ps3man

The bullying in this episode is a disgrace.. I am so proud that Aisling got to TKO Angela H, She was a disgrace

Funny how the bitches in the house have all lost their fights. Delighted Ais battered Magana.

I feel sorry for the coaches during some of these episodes. They're dealing with a bunch of delusional children a lot of the time!

I'm so glad Felice lost and in such a quick fashion. Now I just need Ais, JoJo and Tecia to win and then I will be happy that all the bull****ters and bitches are out of the contest. I really hope they never do a women's season again. There is way too much drama.

They should have just had the hour dedicated to the Coach's trivia challenge.

Aw man so happy with the win, I'm expecting Mayhem to pop out at any moment to announce this was bully beatdown in disguise.

Nervous for next week, that is gonna be a tough fight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 94 ✭✭12thofthe12th

Tis really tough to watch, with all the bitching going on. Glad that Felice lost though, hope Carla loses too, I for one do not wanna see her become the champion. This has to be one of the worst the TUF seasons.

I actually fast forwarded that in places. So cringe worthy.

Does anyone on boards actually think they'll continue watching this series IF Ais gets eliminated? I dont think I would bother watching any more.

Last week was all about the upset caused when some of the girls wanted Tecia to move out of their room....did my eyes deceive me last night or did the same girls then drag their beds into Tecia's new room for a sleepover?

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/mma/ultimate-fighter-20-jo-calderwood-4654735

Joanne Calderwood is one of the favourites to win the latest series of The Ultimate Fighter The Ultimate Fighter enters its twentieth season with a new weight class and a world championship on the line.
Under the guidance of star coaches Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez, sixteen of the top 115lbs female fighters on the planet will live together, train together and compete for the right to be crowned the first ever UFC Women's Strawweight Champion.
Every week, Scotland's Joanne Calderwood gives her behind-the-scenes take on The Ultimate Fighter experience.
"I don't really remember the 'slumber party' that Team Melendez had. I was probably in bed at the time. It's pretty bad that they weren't thinking about Tecia Torres still being in the room and still being in the competition, but that's the kind of girls they are. They're selfish and they weren't really thinking about the girls who were taking it seriously.
Some of the girls had started getting their party heads on and drinking, but they're supposed to be professional athletes. I thought they should be training and still taking it seriously.
Even if you're out after your first fight, you've still got four or five weeks where you can be learning and training with other people, rather than getting drunk and not turning up to training.

Randa Markos and I were close. We shared a room and we ended up training together most of the time because we were both serious about the competition.
We just clicked because we were both there for the same reason. Both Randa and I are serious about wanting to go to the top and we don't really think about anything else, which can't be said about some other people.
I just didn't see the point in splitting the Team Pettis training sessions at all. You could see Carla Esparza and Jessica Penne training together, they trained with each other from the start, but they were in the same side of the draw too! If they won their next fights, then they'd be fighting each other, so it didn't make sense.

It was mostly Randa who was on the mat with me. We were on the same side of the board as well but we weren't thinking about that. We just got on with it.
It was silly and I totally agreed with Randa. She thought, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not giving up one of my training sessions.' It's bad enough that we only got an hour at training so to then give up even more time was crazy.
In the TUF house, you were lucky if you were getting two good hours out of your day. To cut that back even more when you're supposed to be working towards the most serious fight in your career, was silly. It shouldn't have been an issue.

Carla and Felice Herrig were really immature. I hate watching these episodes because it brings it all back and what we had to deal with.
I hope they're both embarrassed watching it now. They're supposed to be role models for anyone who is out there and is looking to get into MMA. Anyone watching that would think, 'Why would I want to go and be around these people?' These are supposed to be people at the top of their game. They should act like it.

That's what it was like, twice a day, every day. Randa and I were trying not to get involved with it all but it's hard when Carla and Felice were acting like that. You don't want any conflict but they were creating it.
I thought Randa hit Felice at the weigh-ins. From my angle, it looked like she slapped her! We had talked about it and I said, 'You know she's going to try and get a reaction out of you' which she did.
I'd said, 'Don't rise to it or lower yourself to her level.' I don't know what I would do if someone blew a bubble in my face but obviously Randa felt the need to burst it.

I thought that was really disrespectful but that's what Felice is like, she is a disrespectful person. I would never get in anyone's face like that. It's called a staredown; you're only supposed to stare!
The fight between Randa and Felice didn't last very long. It was pretty sweet; that's a really rare submission that Randa got and I think only one other person has ever pulled it off in the UFC.
It just shows that you have to stay focused out there and you can't get caught up in your emotions. Felice was quite vocal that she just wanted to go in there and punch Randa in the face but Randa was just focused on going in there and executing her gameplan.

I didn't even know that argument between Randa and Carla after the fight had happened, to be honest. I was laughing watching it.
It reminded me of the thing in Invicta where Tecia beat Felice up and Carla stormed into the cage and demanded she fight Tecia next because she 'beat up her best friend'. She's so childish."

  • Registered Users Posts: 786 ✭✭✭ps3man

Just saw it.. Nothing better than a smug look wiped off someones face. The bullying is absolutely disgraceful, the only great thing to take from this is how uninvolved Ais and Jojo are with the bullying and bitching..

    Wow, that was shocking.
I know there's editing at play, but Felice is actually delusional. Going on about how Randa was so rude in the van, when all she said was "don't speak to me". Her and Carla acting like children.

Even after the fight, she thought she was winning. Hardly. Randa controlled the entire fight.

Haven't watched any of that season except for last nights episode, that bullying was disgusting to watch, for once though a bully gets put back in her place, watching herself shout tap in panic will be tough to watch for her.

The "you're next" was brilliant, it may have been the #14 to the #1 but the out down was teed up beautifully.

Felice really thinks she's the ****. Thought it was funny when Ais said she makes so many basic mistakes and then to see her get tapped in such a **** armbar.

One by one the bitches fall.

The hold yes, but to get submitted from there is poor form, specifically to get submitted via straight armbar from there is poor form as keeping your arm tight upon landing should make it near impossible to apply (as opposed, to say, defending an armbar from bottom mount whereby even if you do keep your arm tight, your opponent can apply appropriate leverage and easily secure the finish).

Just to confirm: Poor form on the part of the loser.

Load of people saying this is a **** season, I completely disagree. I'm really enjoying it. Good fights, plenty of drama, bad guys, good guys, what else do you need in a TUF series?

The bullying is amazing! Sure there's a lot of editing but most of the stuff is as plain as day. Apart from when the Irish are fighting, I don't think I've wanted someone to win a fight as much as I wanted Randa to beat Felice. And the fact that she ran through her and did it so easily was a cherry on top!

I know what you mean. It's a bit of a "trick" armbar for a beginner to be caught in. And with a bit of experience you shouldn't be caught in it, but I've seen a judo guy I train with force the position on competent grapplers. Although he's. 6th dan with crazy old man strength, so might not be comparable.
I've no idea what Randa's credentials are so not suggesting she was good enough to force it, and simply was down Felice's pour form.

I agree. Conventional BJJ dictates standard scarf hold is a bad position too but I've rolled with a good Judo black belt who would question that sugggestion strongly (also see Barnett's sub of Dean Lister from that position at Metamoris.

It's not considered a bad position once you keep the opponent flat on their back like a top class grappler can. That armbar you normally only see when there is an obvious strength difference between the opponents and to me Felice looked much stronger than Randa. I'd say Ais had it down that Felice just makes some very basic mistakes on the ground.

Gutted to see Ais lose. Thought she did well up against the cage. Just couldn't get back to her feet after penne landed on top in the third.

Looking forward to Jojo v Rose next week

Yupp, unlucky Ais, what a tough fight! She eats through punches and can still pose problems for most of the 115 div. I don't think Conor was expecting the silent treatment :pac:. They're gonna be kicking themselves when he's a 2 div champion...

Hopefully JoJo does the job, another tough fight and would really like to see Esparza get a beating by Tecia.

Any one remember in the early previews it looked like Ais had passed out during a weight cut?

Was it Ais who passed out (maybe it wasnt Ais)? Was the scene cut? Or maybe Ais gets another chance? last one is a long shot i know put passing out during a weight cut is good TV and would be a weird scene to cut.

Pettis seemed to cold shoulder him a bit too I thought....maybe he's thinking he could be in line for an ass whoopin :D

Pity that Ais lost but she battled well, never gave in and showed the fighting Irish attitude!

They were all pro fighters before this. Might not have been massive money, but they were all pro.

The Invicta girls got paid for signing up to TUF. Each got 32k, Carla got 40k as champ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

I just watched Ais's fight. I have to say, I've never seen her fight prior to TUF and both of her fights have well and truly been the stand outs of the series. She looked to gas out during the second round (I suspect all that clinch work at the start of #2) and lacked it in the 3rd.

I reckon she'll give every one of those fighters a problem if she's matched against them and could easily take that belt when the official division launches, especially with a full camp behind her (The TUF training looks a complete waste of time!)
