Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My girlfriend lives in carlow...which is dodgy. My old housemate was in meteor in carlow right beside my girlfriend and never had an issue.
Drving Carlow to Dublin/Mallow it's game over for making calls

was reading here and got tempted...

used to be with emobile before on the friends and family unlimited (€39.50) and moved back to vodafone for a stupid reason...

anyway...phoned them up and have the s3 ordered...

cost €139 and another €100 deposit which I will get credited back on my 7th bill.

tarriff is the unlimited blah de blah...€34.50

    very pleased!:)

    (not an eircom customer)

For the people who have got the deal...what is their experience of emobile's reception per say when they are driving on a motorway across the country...have they experienced many dropped calls?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭snowdaze

I just rang them up - they couldn't have been nicer...dead easygoing and sound about it...

    it's customers they're after...

    I rang them on 01 7011573

not supposed to use the phone when driving ;)
but can tell you I have been in areas of kildare where I could never get a signal and the call was still perfect, the only time I had an issue was when i was going into an underground carpark, but thats only normal.

no dropped calls, though before I left meteor I remember I had around 5 in the space of 2 months or so

Which would be better the SG3 or the HTC One X?

    W.

They are pretty similar, down to personal taste really.
If the one X is 100 cheaper I'd definitely go for it over the S3

Got the HTC One X myself a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it - got this deal plus paid €199 for phone.

Housemate went in this week and is being charged €49 for the phone with the same deal! Apparently the HTC One X+ is coming out soon hence the price reduction - great time to buy it (unfortunately for me)

By doing it online and using my eircom number, managed to get the iPhone5 for €289, @ €34.50 a month for 18 months. Plus €130 deposit that you'll get back in your 7th bill.

I'll give them a call sure!

Edit; Nevermind, no iPhone in this deal!

You can only used it on the select unlimited deal i.e. €64 a month deal.

When you put the code in initially it says error but you can put it in later and you get the iPhone for €289

Sorry been trying to read the thread but a bit confused:

The voucher code is your a/c number? I'm not an eircom customer- has anybody who is not one just used someone else's?

Can you get the iPhone 5 with this and if so how much? I have read 149 and 289?

    Thanks.

    I am the OP

The link doesn't seem to work any more.

Proceed from the normal emobile page, indicating you're an emobile customer and at some stage you'll be asked for a voucher and the monthly price will drop from 64 to 34.50 / month

That's the voucher code but only some account numbers actually qualify!

Try a family member's account details, if available.

I had to try three different accounts before I got one that worked! :)

Think you just need insurance but there doesn't seem to be a reasonable place, just go with who your provider suggests i say, unless you have home insurance that is
