    Royal Hospital (Kilmainham) garden?

Yes. Was on my way back from the city and stopped there. Such a beautiful garden, we used to climb that wall as teenagers after it was locked up and hang out at the pond during summer nights

Which turn off is that for Kippure. Can you cycle all the way to the top?

This one. Maybe a good MTBer could get to the top, but on the CX bike I finish up where the dirt track ends. Even then, I found the going tough enough over a couple of sections of loose rock, and got off for a couple of short sections. It's quite short but good fun, with lots of ups and downs.

    Col du Tourmalet this morning.

Great photos as ever - won't be long now before the snow returns. What's that in front of the Goddet memorial?

There was some snow last night. You can see it in the bottom photo in the distance. Usually there is no significant snow until November.

It's multilingual info about the col. I think they are putting them on all the main climbs.

Great photos indeed, what kind of temp is it up there today?

It was 6c at the summit. A bit cold on the way down but it was nice going up.

    Ok a little story on this one.. On the way into work yesterday morning I got a puncture, so took the obligatory facebook photo;

    364495.jpg

    (which many poked fun at).

Then coming home decided to chill on Dollymount beach for a bit and took this photo to put the smiles on the other side of their faces :D

Just shows the good times far outweigh the bad

First proper roll out on the new "winter bike". Cannondale CAAD8.
Much nicer of a bike to ride then I expected out of sub 1k Aluminium frame. Wheels are junk though, drop the boot any little bit and they start flexing and making a right racket. Set of Fulcrum Racing 7 CX's with Conti 4 Season will be lovely. SKS Raceblades to go on this weekend.

Close. Brandon Pier and Conor Pass. Had forgotten how nice Brandon was, sat by the pier and chilled for 10 mins or so, wasn't a sinner down there...apart from a dozen cats.

There's always the dilemma of whether you should mention it as you pass.*

Something like "I prefer polka dot myself" seems apposite...

I've been following this thread for a while now and love it, (although not contributed yet). Anyway, saw a link from my sports club facebook page for a competition at the cycle superstore that some of you may be interested in. Sharing a ride picture to win one of their vouchers. Be worth checking out. http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewContent.asp?idpage=413
