    Whats always amazed me about this case,especially being a father,is how two well educated and supposedly responsible adults,could leave their very young children alone in a premise while holidaying in a foreign country,if you have young children,your parental instinct is too keep them close and in sight at all times,what they did is gross negligance and warrents them being charged and punished severely,they are mostly responsible for that poor child most likely ending up in the hands of some monster,but there are always two sides to a coin,could they in some way be responsible directly for her disappearing off the face of the planet?,its a possibilty

    ...the Mcanns just did it better.....
    if its all true, i feel realy bad for them, but tbh... i cant stand them people anymore.
    its been said a few times that they might have staged the whole thing...
    they seem to have turned a terrible thing into a hype.

    I hate the way it's human nature to give people who are good-looking (ie. maddeline and the rest of the mccann family) an easier time and more trust and sympathy than people who are ugly (ie. this guy, shannon matthews and her mother).

    As if people who are good-looking dont have everything they want to begin with, they are coasted through life by everybody else.

    Oh yeah, eh, I'm good-looking.....

    The difference between media treatment of maddie and shannon matthews has a fair amount to do with the police involvement in the case and what they suspect.

    Aside from the press conference, there was a definite lack in media support for Matthews parents, because the police had alot of suspicions regarding what had happened. That suspicion filters through to the press, and influences their reporting.

    QWhich is why you had almost a year of the McCanns being suspects.

    The best theory I've heard on this is that the McCann's left the children in the hotel unsupervised because they knew the kids wouldn't wake up. They drugged the kids to sleep. Kate McCann was a anaesthetist before she became a GP.

    Unfortunately, they may have given one of the kids - Madeline - too much and she died as a result. If you think about it this way, if you were a paedophile and you wanted to snatch a kid, a tourist resort is a good place to do it, loads of families with kids and their level of alertness is not at its peak because they are on holiday but ffs, if you were a paedophile, why not either snatch or buy a kid from eastern Europe, a kid that was blonde and blue-eyed and that nobody is going to give a **** because they have hundreds if not thousands of orphanges across the former Communist bloc.

    I think as long as the McCann's keep this whole charade up, they can't be charged with gross neglect which led to her death and disappearance.

    Hmmm... or maybe she didn't give her too much of anything. But such speculating is fun isn't it? Like an exciting episode of Eastenders! :)
