Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Very friendly club, most of our members are from Dublin but we also have a good spread of players from other parts of the country.

Training is based in Commons Street on Astro pitch and Fairview Park from 7pm-8:15pm

Living in East Wall, moved up from Mayo for work. Would be interested in joining St. Josephs/OCB for the coming season.

Carrying an extra stone/stone and a half but I'd shift it in a month training properly.. Was a decent FUll Forward on club scene until work'/weight took over.

Would you keep me informed as to when training will commence?

Moved to Dublin from Donegal in September I play for an Intermediate football club in Donegal. I'm looking for a club to train with during the week and the weekends I can't make it home.

I'm living in Sandyford right beside the Luas and I'd be more than willing to travel.

If anyone is interested in adult hurling in the Ranelagh, Rathmines, Terenure, Kimmage etc etc areathis year, Realt Dearg are actively seeking new recruits.

The club now has THREE teams, having set up a third team last year. The club is one of the youngest in the county, having been set up just five years ago. In 2014, along with expanding to a third team, our A team won its first trophy, topping Division 7 of the league and gaining promotion to 6. This team also narrowly missed out on a place in the Junior D final, a situation we'll be seeking to rectify this year.

The club has a place for players of any ability, and we have experience ranging from senior club players right down to absolute beginners (we also have traditionally had some international contingent, with players from Canada, France, and Germany fielding for us at one time or another), and ranging in age from early twenties to forties.

Here is an account of the first year of the third team that might give some idea of the kind of club we are.

If you are interested, check out our website, http://realtdearg.ie/, and email realtdearg.hurlingclub@gmail.com to make some enquiries. We will start training on 9th February in Stepaside (at this time of year we play under lights, so have to go here until the hour changes).

The most obvious option would be Crumlin. They've a Junior team playing in Div 9 of the league, and a team who play intermediate championship and Div 5 of the leagues. That would allow you to start in a low league and step up if you can/need/want to.

    Hi lads.
Tyrrelstownn GAA club, in Dublin 15 is currently looking for new adult gaelic football players for our mens team.
We train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 9pm in The hall in Tyrrelstown. We just got our own pitch last year and will move outdoors when the evenings get brighter.
If you are looking to get back playing after a few years out or would like to give Gaelic football a go for the first time then send me a pm.
They're a great bunch of lads and its a bit of craic. We meet up for a few pints and sambos after the games so the social side of it is good too.
Now that the weather is improving it's great to have a run around in the evenings!

Living in Clontarf at the moment and considering joining a football club.

I was never a great player and fitness is average enough. Just looking for a junior team with a few fellow culchies to kick a ball around with, top up the fitness and play a few matches.

I'm based on the southside of Cork city and would like to take up football again. My fitness is ok and I played a bit at school, but not since - so it's probably going to be a case of the lower the team's standard the better!

I'm guessing it may already be a bit late in the year at this point to be joining a team, but even if it was just a case of tagging along to training and working on my skills for the time being, I'd be happy with that.

Anyone have any suggestions / recommendations?

    Hi,

My friend and I are looking to get back into hurling (and or football) at a modest junior level after a hiatus from minor level until the mid twenties, pretty casual to start, get up the fitness and see where we go from there. Were located in Dublin 3, so anywhere like Scoil Ui Chonaill or Clontarf would be ideal. I've played hurling and football from u12 to minor in tipperary and the friend has played the same in wicklow.

If anybody has any contacts they can put us onto that would be great.

    Kind Regards,
    David

Would you happen to know transfer rules with uk clubs? Is it possible to play games legally with a club in the uk without completing a official transfer..I want to join a club in the uk but also want to play with my home club in ireland for championship!

Pretty sure that isn't possible - and if you end up playing with a club in the UK in official competition, you face a 48 week ban. There was a lad living in Leicester, travelling over and back to his home club in Kerry, played a sevens tournament not realising it was an official GAA tournament and got hit with the ban.

Has to be an official transfer, and even if you transferred over for a bit and back, if you played championship with the UK team, you couldn't play championship at home

Yeah was going to say if the plan is to play over there then come home for championship you might be able to transfer and then transfer back as long as you don't play any championship over there and don't play at home again before the transfer back has come through. But you definitely don't get a pass because it's out foreign.

Could someone tell me what do they call that temporary transfer thing for people going to the states? Don't think it applies to the UK though.

Thanks for the feedback! I do realise what your saying but I have heard of a rule that allows you play league and challenges game only in the uk and still makes you eligible for championship back in ireland but I'm finding it difficult to get info on and I'm wondering is it just hearsay

Sorry, best advice I can do that regard is to ring the club in the UK that you intend playing for, they'd be used to these situations and would know the rules back to front.

Looking for a men's Junior Football club around Dublin Central (nothing too serious). Living around Grand canal dock area.
Checked out Clanna Gael but they don't seem to have the numbers for a junior team. Any recommendations?

    Cheers.
