Absolute crackin episode. Best season by a mile so far.

As above, great episode. Thought after season 3 it wouldn't be great, but this season has been surprisingly good

Oh what a cliffhanger... have to wait until next week. They surely did not all survive that. up to Quinn to hold the fort now.

This show has never failed to leave me with a dropped jaw at the end of each episode. Such a great cliff hanger.

Great episode, have really enjoyed this season and knew they were moving towards something good. Having to wait another week! or is it two weeks? not seeing an episode scheduled for next week. :(

I seriously doubt if Carrie is toast as season 5 has just been green-lit.I assume Claire Danes has been signed up for it.But they killed off Brody so you never know.
Saul could be a goner but more likely that it is a minor character like Redmond that cops it.Or maybe all three are gone.I was genuinely shocked when the convoy was hit.I never expected it,just thought they would arrive back at base safe and sound. Nobody can accuse the scriptwriters of being predictable anyway.I am a bit annoyed that the Jihadists seem to have the upper hand on the CIA this season although that's been the way of Homeland since the start if you think back.

how many episodes are left in this season?

Only the first and third cars were hit. The car with Carrie and Saul was relatively unscathed.

The embassy invasion should be interesting.

Nope, they're taking a week's break for bloody thanksgiving.

As Lockhart would say, "What the fcuk? What the fcuking fcuk??

Lockhart is definitley a target. The ambassador also I'd imagine.

Cracker of an episode. Tension from start to finish. Loved the double cross from the Ambassador on her husband in pretending to free him from Carrie's interrogation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 657 ✭✭✭dashdoll

Sooooo good this season! Brody who?!

    The part with
    the kid wearing the vest
    nearly finished me off.

Looks like the next ep will be crazy!

How's this going to play out

Will the jihadis be live broadcasting from the embassy once the siege begins

    Amazing stuff !!!

What an ending, and yeah it's taking a week off for Thanksgiving :mad:

Next ep is December 7th ...

Yeah, this season keeps getting better and better.

Homeland tends to kick up a gear in the 2nd half of it's seasons ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,127 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Great episode but you really need to suspend belief on an unimaginable scale.

    For example:

Why didn't one of the special ops guys not get a headshot on the guy with the detonator?
Why didn't they go back to the embassy in a chopper rather than through the streets of a hostile city in a recognizable caravan of CIA 4x4s?
How is it possible that the US embassy again in a hostile city is so under-guarded? The lads just nipping in the back door...

    Still wouldn't solve it ..

Would have kicked off an almighty shoot out I imagine.

Also, bit of trivia. The guy that plays Lockhart, Tracy Letts, is a big playright in the the States and he wrote the bonkers 'Killer Joe' and 'August:Osage County'.

Because that would have ended the exchange. The priority was to get saul back

They've been driving through the streets without any problems up until now. This attack was unprecedented.

well its not underguarded. Lockhart sent the marines out to the site of the attack. There will still be security in the embassy jsut not as much as normal. Besides, only a handful of people knew about the tunnel. The taliban only know because the female ISI agent told them. She only knew cos the ambassadors husband told her. Hopefully they will figure this out and realise who the problem is on the pakistani side.

The ambassador knows, her husband told her. Now, if she can only survive the attack.

So there's a tunnel out the back that anyone can get through with a wire-cutter?

If somebody who watches Homeland has problems with it's implausibility then I strongly advise them not to ever watch 24!

Exactly. Sure people could pick holes in almost all tv series/movies etc. Why bother? They are not documentaries. Why not enjoy them for what they are... entertainment shows.

    Or Top Gear. :P

Regarding realism, Homeland is an entertaining cartoon about a mad lady who is sometimes saner than the "responsible" people around her.
As for whose side the Pakistanis are on ? If anyone has a genuine answer to that, please contact the White House and/or the Kremlin and tell them. The answer is going wasted on a thread dedicated to a TV show.

They send a few lads in a mini bus for 3 hrs after making him walk 20 miles into the middle of town. He should have told them f off I'll be sitting here, send about 3 f####n helicopter gunships.

:)....bang on. "I'll be sitting here with my little bomb-vest buddy smoking some Afghan herbal.....and bring women, lots of women".

If we're talking about plot holes, the only slight thing that niggles me is why Tasneem is aiding the taliban.

As a woman in a powerful position, surely helping Haqqani seize power would mean she would be out of that job quick smart as soon as they took charge. Look at how they treat women in Afghanistan, for example. How is it in her best interests to help them, I wonder?

I missed most of last nights episode on RTE, only caught the end bit with Saul, can anyone tell me what happened, in a PM if there's too much spoilers as I can't wait till Sunday when it's on Channel 4!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,922 ✭✭✭Ceist_Beag

Ok I'm confused here - you guys are all clearly an episode ahead of RTE2 - are you watching this on a US channel or something? Is there a thread on the RTE viewings?

We're either all CIA agents with a time machine or we're downloading the show from naughty places. Same applies to similar threads on Elementary / Good Wife / The Newsroom / Ripper Street etc.

That was a great episode, it's been good for the last few weeks.

So in a fortnight we have an embassy protected by just Quinn and a couple of marines against all the baddies. Hopefully it's like The Raid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,961 ✭✭✭LionelNashe

It's hard to guess what's coming. Somebody, Carrie I think, said that the beardy terrorist guy, whatshisname, had a plan when he faked his own death, and it didn't involve Saul, because he didn't know that he was going to capture Saul. It couldn't have involved accessing the embassy through the tunnel, because they didn't know there was a tunnel until that dufus leaked the info to the ISI woman. So, luring the convoy out to the airfield, attacking them on the way back as a diverstion to draw out the marines, and then infiltrating the embassy through the tunnel is a pretty good plan for what appears to be Plan B. I can't wait to see Plan A.

Fantastic episode, this season is probably my favorite so far. Love the direction they are taking the story. Feck knows what will happen next week now. I'm backing Quinn to do the job :)

Lol I'll go with your CIA agents theory. Thanks for that.
I need something to look forward to next week so I'll hold out for rte now. Loving this season as others have said.
