Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Tickets booked, yeah!

Can't wait now, although I'm way too old to go giggin'. If you see someone nearly as old as an OAP at the concert, please be gentle, that'll be me :D

In exactly three weeks from today, the fire and fury of the almighty Rammstein will be released for the first time on Irish soil.

    Wir warten mit Besonnenheit >:)

Gotta love modern technology, HD phone cams and some very dedicated fans.

Full concert in HD multicam, and decent sound. Bootlegs were not like this in my day!

I actually don't wanna watch it. Feels like I'll be spoiling it for myself.

I've waited ages to see Rammstein, and I know the gig will be epic. Guess I just wanna be surprised by it!

    "Du Hast"

My all time fav. They sang it at the two gigs I've been to and I'll leave happy if they sing it again.

Less than 3 weeks to go. \0/

Yep it had an incredible energy when I heard it live :)

So what are you guys doing before the concert. I am hoping to have the day off so maybe meet in town beforehand for a bit of nosebag and beer :)

As far as I know, since Du Hast was released, Rammstein have never once left it out of a setlist ;)

I'd say around half 11 or 12 depending on Deathstars' set. You can be guaranteed at least an hour and a half set from Rammstein.

I'm fairly sure they have to be finished in time for people to catch the last bus home.

Doors open at 6.30, support start at 7?
I'll take a stab in the dark and say the lads will be on stage by 8.30 or so, definitely no later than 9.
    Two weeks to go. :D

True but you don't know how much dilly-dallying will go on between the bands and it also depends on how many songs they play for encore and then if they do 1 or 2 encores ;)

    30 mins.
I found their last two gigs to be German precision timing. On both occasions they were on the stage at 9pm on the dot.
Course, Irish time keeping could screw them up. ;)

Yeah I could see it being an issue. I remember Rush said 8pm (I think) sharp on the ticket. As in this is the beginning of the show. Was still loads of empty seats at that stage. Ended up starting 10/15 mins late

Is there not a rule that every O2 gig must be finished at 11pm?

Sure is, it's called a 'curfew', the O2's is 11pm.

Different venues have different curfews, like the RDS has a strict 10.30 one due to residential concerns.

What's the story with camera's at the show? Are you allowed bring in just regular digital camera's or nothing at all? It would be a regular cool gig to get some pictures of!

Regular gig rules i suppose, even though it does say no camera's or recording devices, security normally (well, 99% of the time) lets ya get past wit any camera so long as it doesn't have a detachable lens and isn't huge

Heard about their gig last week.
Good to hear Rammstein are playing the o2. Heres hoping they sell pack out the place.

    Or is that unlikely?

A few months ago I had it on good authority that there was only 600 tickets left and they were all seating. That's out of roughly 15,000.

yeah i heard it was the size of the show that got them the o2 and they were only opening the floor and first tier....now it's all open and apparently only a few hundred seated tickets left. Can't wait!

They were one of the bands who started NDH in the late 80's. People say that Ruoska (Finnish Industrial band) copy Rammstein. If that's the case, Rammstein copied Oomph! Check out their songs Keine Luft Mehr and Augen Auf.

Nope - Rammstein actually copied / was influenced by Laibach.

This whole thing of these copied these guys is all over youtube and I think everyone would prefer if it didn't happen here.

No one copies anyone, it's a genre and each band in a genre is influenced by some band they heard. If they like the elements of a certain band, they will incorporate it into their own sound, not to copy someone else, but because they like making that type of music.

I write lyrics in German and yes, I am heavily influenced by Rammstein, Oomph, Eisbrecher, Megaherz etc. when it comes to the vocal tone of my lyrics and the overall theme of the song.

The music I write on guitar is far removed from these bands and would be more in line with the likes of Darkane, Fear Factory etc.

I am by no means copying anyone. I just love the tone of the German lyrics and what can be done by using German instead of English.

What you're saying is nearly like saying Leinster copied Munster by playing good rugby ;). It's a sport. Consider each metal genre as a sport and it might make it a bit clearer.
