Hard to imagine what music would be like today without Chuck Berry.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

The Beatles wouldn't have been anything like they were without Chuck Berry.

Slash's Nightrain solo contains some direct takes of Chuck Berry licks.

Eddie Van Halen's Panama solo contains some direct Chuck Berry licks.

    As for The Beach Boys...

And none of them had them melody of No Particular Place To Go.

That Rich Hall programme contained a scathing critique of the casting of Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams in a 2016 BioPic.

Never knew that existed, apparently it bombed big time. Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams though? Bizarre casting.

In tribute to the late Chuck Berry, 'The Kings Of Rock 'n' Roll' is on Sky Arts tonight at 11 - Berry performing at the London Rock and Roll show at Wembley Stadium in 1972, along with Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley and Little Richard.

He also mentioned that Janis Joplin didn't die from excess living and drugs. No, when they did the autopsy, they found so little of her heart left, it could no longer function.

Ha! As he said at the start "I know you're thinking, not another BBC Country Music Documentary - how many do they need?" but he made a nice little programme, it was all heartfelt and he crammed a lot in.

Nice one, I caught a bit of it after you flagged it up - some line up! £1.20 well spent for those who made the trip!

10pm Part1 - Sweet Little Sixteen Documentary examining the most important era in the history of popular music - the birth of rock 'n' roll. This episode also looks at the start of Elvis Presley's career in Memphis and examines the impact the film industry had on the rock movement. Contributors include Tom Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis and Don Everly

11pm Part2 - Whole Lotta Shakin' The mid-1950s saw Elvis Presley made his TV debut with Heartbreak Hotel, following it with a gyrating version of Hound Dog that outraged the conservative media. Contributors include Jerry Lee Lewis, Don Everly and Tom Jones

Midnight Part3 - Be My Baby Examining the era between Buddy Holly's death in early 1959 and the Beatles landing at JFK in spring 1964, when rock 'n' roll seemingly calmed down, went uptown and got spun into teen pop. The genre fuelled the Motown sound in Detroit and sound-tracked guitar instrumental groups on the west coast, such as the Ventures and Beach Boys, as it helped birth increasingly polished pop sounds across the States. Contributors include Jerry Lee Lewis, Ben E King and Chubby Checker

    12.05am Other Voices (RTE2)

Kid Jensen and John Peel in tandem again there. Apparently if you wrote to Peel looking for an autograph back in the day, he signed a Kid Jensen photo and stuck that in the post.

    Yeah definitely,

Just looked on a different listing and the version tonight is indeed billed as "Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night 30" (or at least a broadcast version of it) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00g6349 .

    Looking forward to it.
