i dont think its much a case of that tbh. it's essentially a generic twin stick shooter with nothing about it to make it stand out apart from the visual style and story

actual gameplay wise, it's a poor effort

The combat gameplay is like a **** twin stick shooter, but it's the looting and procedural generation that are the appeal more than that IMO. The old school Zelda influence is huge too. Not that that unusual hybrid is for me, but I can certainly see many people being a fan of it.

Which of the shogun 2 DLC is worth getting? Any of them,do any of them add much to the game as its fairly substantial as it is on it's own

Just finished downloading Empire/ Napoleon Total War. It was nearly 40 gigs in total

I love the Total War games but i just could never get into those two.

The combat felt bland and boring. I guess i just prefer the hack and slash battles of Rome/Medieval/Shogun though.:pac:

at first i didnt get it. But its nice to have a change from the arches vs cavalry vs infantry mechanic. Its basically all about firing lines and flanking. Just love the sound of the guns going off as they mow down lines of men. The AI in the campaign map is pants however.

I'd agree that was thrilling at first. But it got a bit repetitive after a while. There wasnt much variation in between factions or within factions themselves either.

I thought the AI in Napoleon was a bit better than it was in Empire and Napoleon felt a bit more polished but i just never enjoyed them as much as i enjoyed Rome and Medieval 2.

    Spacechem = le yoink!

Good prices for Civ 5 (buy it!) and Fallout if you're into that sort of thing!

I was very happy when I noticed that after Spacechem I FINALLY WON A GAME! And I won...

    World Basketball Manager 2010

I'd have much preferred coal thanks... Shíte like that is also why I'm not crafting my current coal.

    Deus ex at 16.99 ?

I probably wont get to play it for months but it's tempting.

Anyone know anything about SpaceChem & Wasteland Angel?

I've played through all bar one, from memory is the lightshow in the desert one, but I cant be 100%. The Casino one is the most interesting IMO, but none of them make any huge changes. If you were a big fan of the game get em, otherwise get something new.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,556 ✭✭✭✭Sir Digby Chicken Caesar

    hrm

might get the ones that offer higher level caps/perks

will see what gets offered in tomorrows sale, only have 11 euro left on the 3v voucher anyway. so if there's nothing tomorrow for a tenner, no harm in splashing out on some dlc

I thought dead money was crap. Enemies are annoying, it looks bad and just wasn't enjoyable.
I had trouble with honest hearts, about halfway in pausing. Although it wasn't great up to then.
Old world blues is the best of what I played. Some good and funny moments.
Haven't played lonesome road but heard its good.

The AI is dumb. I was able to defeat 10 ships (captured 4 of them) with just 2.

Great, picked up Fallout New Vegas today :)

I'm having second thoughts about downloading all the DLC's with it,
User Jet Black above seems to be spot on about the DLC's,
a quick search on the net also suggests Old World Blues and Lonesome Road to be best of them; http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110817043327AAXIBUK

I'll probably just get Old World Blues for now, cheers for the guidance.

Well they sucked me in today: Deus Ex at €16.99 just too good to resist.

So Skyrim, Arkham City and now Deus Ex are going to destroy any social life I have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,912 ✭✭✭SeantheMan

Universe Sandbox gets boring after 5 minutes, I bought it when it first came out.

Every GTA game for 7.50 is ridiculous !! It should be a must buy , Civ5 is also deadly

It's 9.99 (reduced from 39.99) for me, I'm thinking he may have the price wrong in that vid. Still a great deal though

A few hours with Spacechem, and is already in my top five of the year. Simply spectacular. A puzzle game where those 'OOOHHHH!' moments are even more satisfying because you really, really earned it.

Flight Control HD even though it's not part of the daily deal is so very worth it. It's the reason i'm up so late :o

I was just about to recommend it! At my parents on the ****ty internet connection from hell so not online much but I love this game. It's probably one of the best puzzlers I've played. So, so satisfying when you do it efficiently and there's almost always multiple paths to victory.

It's only of those games I'm so going to have my kids playing once they are old enough to grasp all the concepts easily.

bought it on the ipad for 99c in the sale at christmas, and then got the steam version for under $2 the other day. belter of a game

Just bought GTA. Bargain for a tenner. Also got Republic Commando, as I never finished it on the Xbox originally and the Jedi Knight pack, though JK: DF2 doesn't play well with Windows 7 without some tinkering I have to research.

Crafted another 7 coal and got yet another bloody voucher. 10% off Bitcomposer.

    **** you Steam.

I've only bought one game so far in this sale, Hard Reset - have never bought so little! Mainly down to the fact I bought a good few in earlier sales and haven't had time to touch them yet; so despite the fact I know I'll play Arkham City at some point, I also know it won't be for at least 6 months or maybe a year, so why not wait until the summer / Christmas sales in 2012 and get it even cheaper?

Having so many sales means each one loses a little something, there is no reason for urgency in snagging any bargains anymore, as they'll always be as cheaper or cheaper in the very next sale. Just wait until the Gift Pile gimmick gets old, then they'll really have to give stuff away willy-nilly to get the community excited!

Ok i bought medieval 2 yesterday coz i want to play that Third Age Lotr mod. But after i DL it i realized i needed the expansion, ok, so i bought that.
But the DL for the expansion is way bigger.
The actual game has 8 GB install, and it says the expansion is 12GB. Wtf, how can that be ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,324 ✭✭✭chrislad

Does that mod for the graphics update for GTA IV play well with the Steam version?

I'll take it off your hands. All I have to trade is half life 2, episode 1 and a piece of coal.

Are the offers this evening at 06:00pm the last round or are there more tomorrow evening at 06:00pm. Have my eye on some deals that have not appeared as dailies yet and want to pick them up on last day.

there will probably be a best sellers sale tomorrow

I think last year the offers that started on the 31st were the last.
I'm on my phone so can't check but if any of today specials were on already its a good sign its the last day.

Yes that correct. The expansion has 4 different campaigns which i believe can be installed individually but together they take up about 12 GB in space so its about 3GB for each individual campaign.

Probably because each of those campaigns have their own maps, new factions, troop types and new campaign dynamics which is maybe why they're so big.

In the objectives list, it says that these are the final ones...so maybe tomorrow will just be the best deals again.
