Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

it did get me thinking that way..........

The sirens on the new Transit Connects sound very puny - bit like cheap Chinese ones.
See my pic in the gallery of a 'recycled' 05 silver Mondeo in GTC markings - maybe they're recycling anything out there that's 'low' miles on it ?

Does the additional 'skirting' mean 2.5/3l? I do like that light bar, too.

I just think something is wrong about it - the 'Garda' font doesn't seem right ( bit like the 'Garda' cars in 'The General' - AFIR some had a green stripe

If it's an RTE car I like the LED lightbar. Makes that model Mondeo look even better.

Interested to know about the AP intern response van.

How many AP's does it carry? Seems like a lot just for a responder vehicle, where a 4x4 or estate car could do similar.

The school were given 2, they also double up as driver training vehicles. Brings the total of training vehicles in the school to 4.

They're cumbersome and a bit ott rocking up at a house with an ambulance too.

They have 3 seats in the front (only 2 used) with a 3 seater bench seat behind them. Thats for the supervisor. The max I've seen on it is 4. 2 Interns, 1 supervisor and 1 driver (usually another intern).

As for a 4x4....thet would be an additional cost, these vehicles were left laying about as they were the ICV mk1 vehicles....now they use the larger Merc's for ICV so the 2010's were re-assigned.

You probably won't. That particular car was seized from a naughty member of the community, and converted for use as an Unmarked Traffic Corps car. Very maintenance intensive though.

Unless there's concealed lights these may be the private vehicles of the Guards working at the station.

Could be any number of sections using it - and would you be able to suss their Land Cruisers ( hint - they all have cheap/useless wire rear light 'protectors' - any more than a twig hitting the light would break the lens !! )

Did anyone notice the regs? Are they all 131's, I am doubting because of UK's commitment to G8 that they are loaned from there like some were for the Queens visit.
So have AGS now got some nice vehicles?

Slim chance of them ending up in AGS hands id say. Some ministers 2012 vehicle might need replacing though to be fair

On the G8 video, does anyone know anything about the armoured Land Rover at 3:19? It looks like one of the old Snatch Land Rovers painted white. Over the days I have also seen some Pangolins with English numberplates. Other English forces must have access to these.

Saw some pics on twitter saying they were Army ones painted up. And I've seen some of those English armored ones before on either a news story or website.

I walked past one of the old ICO vehicles on scene in Dublin but only 2 crew on board, are they being used as a rapid response vehicle or for interns? Are they P or AP crewed?

They look fresh - but what are they like mechanically - if they are getting on for 300,000 kms as garda cars - youd expect them to be a bit "rough" mechanically.

Are they all 2 litres - or was someone kind enough to squeeze in some 2.5s or 3 litres in.

They had a nice unmarked Mondeo in Mallow - seen it at a checkpoint, nice car - youd never think it was a garda car.

I'd assume most of them mondeos would be coming close to getting scrapped anyway? That shape mondeo was made famous by the garda :p

Pure guess but i'd bet most of them mondeos are either 1.8 or 2.0?

They were not bought as part of a full tender that's why there is so few of them. That one in the pic is the Harcourt Terrace one that has been moved on since the station closure.

Oh yes - I know the new 131 marked Mondeo - but I meant an unmarked Mondeo in past tense - that they had one.

Seen it at a checkpoint last summer - probably gone now :(, maybe it was a yoke they got in on loan from another station - after the chief super - or was it Inspector - started making lots of noise about having insufficient cars available.

Only seen the new 131 parked up one day - coming out of Mallow (near the railway bridge if you know the town) - i suppose its too much to expect that it has a proper engine in it - probably 2 litre diesel again .

2 litre Eco boost would be the chap for the job - 240 ps would be lovely on a traffic car (imo).

I doubt Ford even offer them engines here for standard cars. Everything today is DIESEL DIESEL DIESEL. The Octavia vRS would be the best suited car to traffic, many uk forces are using them now.

That is a North Cork Div unmarked car, can be seen anywhere from the west of Mallow all the way over to Youghal. Based in Fermoy Afaik.
It was seized by Cab and given to AGS.
