There was a part of me that had a glimmer of hope that it would be some fancy post-ending DLC but unfortunately, no.

    Details on the MP stuff
Prepare for the Reckoning! Newfound allies join the multiplayer war for survival in Mass Effect 3: Reckoning. The Geth Juggernaut, Female Turian Raptor, Talon Mercenary, Alliance Infiltration Unit, and more take up arms to stop the Reaper threat. Smash your enemies with the Biotic Hammer as you lay waste to the battlefield as the Krogan Warlord.

Wield 7 new weapons for multiplayer, including the Geth Spitfire Assault Rifle, Venom Shotgun, Lancer Assault Rifle, and amplify your arsenal with new equipment and weapon mods featuring the Geth Scanner and Assault Rifle Omni-blade.

Mass Effect 3: Reckoning launches at no additional cost worldwide on February 26th on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 (February 27th on PlayStation 3 in Europe).

New MP stuff is always good, wonder who/what the "Talon Mercenary" is? Human or alien? And Krogan with a hammer...oh Bioware, its like you read my mind :D

I haven't played ME in months but did the multiplayer DLC weapons ever wind up in the single player?

I think I'm nearly finished the single player. How bad is this ending (without spoilers please)?

    The ending is an end.

Lots of people don't like it, i felt that the extended cut was a good addition and removed a lot of dramatic cutoff that we all got from the last episode of the sopranos err, ME3

Ah no, get the extended cut and finish it off the way it was ment to be finished.

Mass Effect 3 will be free on PS3 to PS+ users in March.

Also, Sony said they have been working with Bioware to offer discounts on ME 2 and ME 3, details coming soon. Would like to try some of the ME 3 dlc packs but will wait to hear more about these discounts.

Woops, edited my post now. Yupp, just PS+ users. That and Sleeping dogs is worth the 15 euro for 3 months subscription as is, never mind all the other games you get as well.

I'll pick these DLC up. I enjoyed ME3 both singleplayer and multiplayer. Got a lot of DLC free which is nice. From Ashes DLC was okay, Javik was a good character with good dialogue, his side mission was alright. Levthian DLC was pretty good, fleshes out the story better. Omega was fairly average though.

I think they replaced all the music with elevators. Every 5 minutes there was a new one. Great way to flesh out the game.

Was that a good Collector at the end? Maybe a super rare player character?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,274 ✭✭✭Monty - the one and only

the only UR character is the cabal turian, and the collector is an " awakened collector" adept...it was glanced over on the preview last night, no ideas on powers for it, the devs didnt want to answer questions on it...

Though it seems the geth juggernaught cant be sync killed :D

Using the batarian gaunlet gear type on a volus is just down right ammusing.

I've just let this game die to me. I lost ME1 and 2 and allll of my saves and I just don't have the heart to start again.

By the time I get around to it the multiplayer community will probably have dwindled.

Just got ME3 today. First Origin game Ive played. Load DVD > Install > Enter CD-Key > Download Game

Sorry? I have the game on disk, I don't want to download 10gigs worth of game thanks.

No theres no way around it Im afraid

I got Crysis 3 and didn't have to download the game.

I'm pretty sure I didn' have to do it with ME3 either.

    Check your settings.

I think it just runs the install off the disc anyways, having the installer run through Origin means they only have to make one that covers both download and disc.

How long did you leave it to download before the "Funk Yous EA" came spilling out?

Finished it last weekend. Ending was a bit of a downer but nowhere near as bad as I expected.
The multiple choice thing is stupid. I went for the destroy option as it seemed the only one which would make sense with the Shepard character.
Maybe it was more the fact that it's over. I'm definitely tempted to see if I can beat the trilogy on higher difficulty now.

Nope, if you make the mistake of installing Origin first and entering the activation key from your DVD box, the disks effectively become frisbees. The only official way is to download the game. This is apparently an issue thats been known since release and theres no answer to it from EA.

What actually works (thank fúck) is if you unzip the contents of the dvds to your installation folder manually, delete some cache files, and make everything non read only. Then when you restart the downloader it skips to 99%

Pretty cat to have to go through all that though

That's what I did with all the DLC when moved to Win8 from 7. I just copied all the DLC folders across to the new drive. I do get an error about DLC when I start up but it won't tell me which and everything works fine.

EA are a joke. Despite actually paying for the DLC for ME1, after I lost the downloads I had to resort to slightly more illicit means to get it back because neither EA or Bioware provide a working download outside of Origin where my only option is to buy it again. Had similar issues with ME2 not installing. I love the ME series but god help anyone who runs into issues with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,751 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

the "good collector" is an adept, and a pretty decent one, bit squishy.. but then it is a feckin' insect..

the geth Juggernaut soldier is a P O W E R H O U S E ! cant use cover, cant sprint, it's a big fat walking tank, with sentry turrets and a mobile shield! haha, best class ever!

The talon merc's tripmines are brilliant, variant of the volus recon mine without the scan thingie.. the model is Zaeed without Zaeed's face, looks badass, but it's a squishy engineer. That's all i've managed to play, loving the geth prime :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,274 ✭✭✭Monty - the one and only

the collector adept is crazy powerful if used right, the Juggernaut is fun, all be it a bit squishy for its lack of sprint/cover...The batarian gauntlet on a volus vanguard is just down right amusing...

The suppressor pistol, very accurate over long range, the executioner pistol packs a punch, but only has 1 bullet per clip and alot of kick back. Got the edi bot before logging out last night, will have to try that tonight.

Oh and the talons bow, is considered melee damage.

Just finished this and am absolutely disgusted with bioware, I did every side quest and still didn't get the perfect ending
    Shephard died
. I have zero interest in multiplayer and I shouldn't be forced to. Raging.

You're not forced to, it's entirely optional.

Promoting from co-op mp increases your single player galactic readiness rating but the single player game doesnt require you to play MP to achieve any of the endings. You can do it all in single player.

Incorrect, my effective military strength was around 2700 after completing every quest possible , 5000 is needed for the best ending which is only achievable by increasing your readiness rating in multiplayer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,751 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

You're doing something wrong or missing a huge part of the game if your score is that low. Besides the 5000 MR was reduced ages ago to 4000 or even less.

Honestly, ye dont need to do MP, nor have you ever for ME3 man.

Where are you getting this info from btw? it's completely wrong.
Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War is an optional gameplay system in Mass Effect 3 that will allow the player to manage Commander Shepard's resources in the galactic war against the Reapers. Galaxy at War directly affects the state of the war effort in single-player, and can determine how the final confrontation of Mass Effect 3 plays out.[1][2] Access to Galaxy at War requires an Online Pass which is included in new copies of Mass Effect 3.

    from here http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Mass_Effect_3:_Galaxy_at_War

I completed the game with no dlc and not having played any multiplayer for the first time last year shortly after release and got all of the endings. Since then the GR rating has been dropped from what it was @ 5000 to 4000 or less. Also, if you're playing with DLC you'll get more war assets anyway. It is easier if you play multiplayer co-op, but like i said.. i've done it without before and it was easy enough, and i missed a load of stuff that i'd only noticed the second time round.
