Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Too risky to go all in with just four diamonds. He didn't have anything to show for when going all in

Not true he is getting better than 3/1 on his money if called and the odds are in his favour so therefore it's a positive equity play. Standard really

He's a 38% chance of hitting a winning hand on the flop, he's getting 3/1 on his investment .. It's a positive equity play.

Looking at the flop in isolation is pointless. Considering his whole line, putting over half your stack in PF with A8s is not a positive equity play. The +EV flop is set up by the awful preflop line.

If he put 75% in pre, he'd get over 7/1 for the flushdraw. Playing it that way doesnt make the equity better, it's actually a lot worse.

I'm talking about his play on the flop in isolation as all we have here is one hand in isolation, his preflop play is questionable at best but nothing wrong with his shove on the flop, as I have said previously it's a positive equity play.

That doesn't explain why you'd ignore preflop. The hand isn't profitable, simple as.
The fact the flop is an easy shove after putting it half his stack, doesn't justify the hand.

Never said it did. I simply stated that his shove on the flop is the correct play if you read back through the posts.

    Well folks,

I'm living in Rathfarnham and was wondering if anyone knows of any pub games of poker that go on around here or nearby?

    Cheers.
