Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Just after playing the prologue level which includes tutorials. Before you start the game there is also option to view 12 minute video recapping human revolution. You can also use human revolution control layout over mankind divided one.

What is the difference in the controls schemes?

Human Revolution is actually L2 to sprint, L1 to enter cover. Was playing it yesterday to refresh.

Arrived today from TGC at my home address, very excited.

Just gotta slave through 8 hours of work incredibly distracted now!

You're in for a treat. Started it yesterday and have only done the prologue mission but have spent good number of hours doing the side missions in the hub area. Was doing one mission where I tried to go in stealthily but in the end went in guns blazing through the front door as I couldn't find a safe way in.. It wasn't until everybody was dead that I found another way into the building right behind a ladder I used to get up to the window ledge :o . Breach is cool as well.

Dunno, but it's marked as one day 5 hours on steam, so tomorrow afternoon according to that

Received this on Saturday. Poured the most of the weekend into wandering around doing some side quests.
May have found a bug where a character can't be found where they're supposed to be already though which is a little annoying.

Have some stuff to give Edward Brod, it's the golden ticket side mission I believe it's called.
Gave stuff to Irenka (I think that's the name at leat) and need to find Edward but he's nowhere to be seen near the map pointer.

He was there for me in his store behind the metro entrance

    Yep, that's a bug so!

That's a good hour of my life wasted but at least now I'm best friends with every citizen in the area after speaking to each of them a dozen times hoping they'd turn out to be the right dude!

From your experienc thus far would you have had to have played the previous games to enjoy this?

havent played them before but love the look of this from reviews/streams Ive seen.

Not really, there is a 12 minute video recap of the last game when you start a new game and the first level has plenty of tutorials on the controls. If you want to learn more about the universe there is the deus ex universe app which shows history of the game's world

You'd miss little things if you never played Deus Ex from 1999 but not much. Like Bob Page's voice at the start of Revolution and boxes with Versalife printed on them, the song that plays on the radio is the in game sound track from the first game and then the Project D in the post credits roll.

None of the above is really a spoiler as HR is 5-6 years old now. This game has some more but I won't spoil them here.

Does it locate your save or are you ask to make a choice so as to continue from where it left off?

Nope they just picked one of the endings of human revolution and made it Canon

It just carries on. It kind of blends the 4 different endings of HR together.

You would certainly miss bits and pieces but the intro video paired with the e-books and news bulletins dotted around the place will very quickly give you a good understanding of the world you're in and how it got to be that way.

Haven't got that far but they have said that you can talk your way out of some boss encounters

Looking at the trophies the platinum is "You completed Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™ without killing a single soul. Bosses are people, too".
Seems to imply that there are definitely bosses but you can avoid them or knock them out.

Yeah there is a bug that if you use the tesla Aug to knock out people it counts them as hostile, so if you are trying for the ghost trophy be wary. The typhoon also has a non lethal option but once you pick it's permanent.

It's a joke at the last game, the same trophy was in it but you were forced to kill them. The Directors Cut version lets you knock them out.

That's annoying. On my first play through I'm not concerned with trophies for now, instead I've whacked it onto whatever the most difficult setting I could. That way there's a challenge but I won't be reloading saves every 10 mins after turning the wrong corner.

Yeah I'm not really bothered either in trying for these trophies, I usually try to use as much stealth and non lethal as possible but if it goes pear shaped I switch to lethal. My next upgrade is definitely going to be the one to breathe through poison gas as I've found plenty of areas with it.

Yeah a few things are needed straight off the bat, breathing gas, picking up heavy objects and jumping high would all help a lot.

Yeah I'm stuck on a side mission as I need to be able to jump high enough to climb a vent

There is nearly always another way in this game, it never leaves you stuck because you didn't do one type of upgrade.

Well there is only one other way I can find but the place I need to get into has a lot of security up front so that's why I'm trying to sneak in.

    Finished it there last night.

Was expecting a bit of a harder fight, but that's the beauty of Deus Ex. There's always a simple solution if you know your equipment and look around the area.

I was also expecting a few more boss fights, but i guess they toned it down on purpose because of the frustrations the bosses caused in HR.

I'll be going through it again to make different choices and get missions I missed out on. It's impossible to do everything in one play through unless you pick your save points carefully by knowing in advance.

I'd say it's the best Deus Ex game in the series, just about. Still have rose tinted glasses about the first game 17 years ago. Well worth the wait.
Oh, and not spoiling anything, but don't skip the end credits. There is a New Game + mode this time which is nice.

When did you get it? lol
Did you have time to sleep :P
But serious, how long is the game exactly? Took me about 20 hours to complete Human Revolution.

I absolutely love this series. Deus ex 1 is my favourite game of all time and even played through the Deus ex 2 more then once... struggle that it was. Can't wait to play this.

I got it Saturday morning via Parcel Motel. Played most of Sat, all Sunday and took a sickie from work yesterday. Didn't sleep much either, long, long time since I've done that for a game, thought that was all behind me but I just loved this. Kind of sorry I went through it so quickly, like binging on a boxset over a weekend. It's all part of the joys of having no kids, girlfriend or life in general :o , I look like a zombie in the office today though.

Not sure how long exactly because I reloaded save point a good bit when I didn't like how I handled certain situations, or just made silly mistakes messing up a stealth section. It didn't feel as long as HR as you don't really move about locations like in the other Deus Ex games where you see half the world during the story. It was very good but I wanted the story to go on more and link up to the first game better. It's like they left loads out to make another game or loads of DLC to tie it all up to the first game.

If you played the first game you know there is more to come.

Sounds good! I've only played through a couple of missions, but already looking forward to another run through with guns blazing. :P

Ha! wish I could still do that, remember binging on games like Half Life 1 and Oblivion back in the day. :pac:

Can't wait to get stuck into this! Don't think I'll be finishing it over a single weekend, witcher 3 took me about 4 months lol.

Ha, don't get me wrong I almost never do this. I tend to be bogged down in work and end up bringing it home with me alot of the time.

I bought The Witcher 3 on release and I'm still working on it despite it being a great game. I've left it so long now I've forgotten alot and think I have to start over.

For anybody that has redeemed the day one content, the items can be found in your inventory by pressing L2. The weapons are alright, they might look nicer but they don't have better stats. Also in your apartment you have three lockers that can store 8 items each.
