Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would someone like to explain to me what the restricted view and ordinary tickets are on the IRFU website for the Autumn internationals?

    http://www.irishrugby.ie/tickets/ticketsales.php

What do they mean by restricted view

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭connundrum

Behind a post, or with a screen in front of you.

I remember getting tickets for the missus for Take That in Croker which were described as restricted view - she said she's a perfect view, the only thing was a stall partially blocked the way.

I paid full price for tickets in Croker up in the corner of the Canal End and Hogan Stand - only to be stuck behind the bleedin screen. Had to nearly lie down to see anything.

Pot luck I reckon, could be not too bad or could be shite.

I'm not affiliated with any club but would like to go to an Ireland game in the Autumn series.

How could I go about getting one? I hear they can't get rid of them but where do they sell them if not through the clubs?

    Thanks.

    heya

anyone think there's any chance that tickets for the AB match only will be on sale, or is it the only definate sell-out?

i'd love to take my wife to see it, but can't afford to shell out the best part of 400 for a two match package....

    Hey lads,

what's the best way to get tickets for either of these two games?

I found tickets on the internet at outrageous prices (not less than 250£ for a single ticket!!)

    is that the only way?

    Cheers

You gotta talk to a local club. That's how international tickets are sold, essentially. Don't pay that stupid price - they're just touting.

thanks for that, but am I supposed to be a club member before I can buy?

Usually, but if you had walked in off the street to most clubs and asked for a ticket to one of the autumn internationals, you would have had your hand bitten off. I assume that France and England 6 nations tickets will be harder to come by though, but go in and talk to them.

The idea of selling international tickets through clubs is that it helps grow the grass roots following. Normally members get involved and help out somehow, by playing or by working on something.

If you know someone in a club, they can help. Otherwise, if you wait until closer the time, tickets will turn up.

Tickets are currently on sale to Leinster season ticket holders at the moment, think Racing may have also started selling them on their own website also.

I just wonder, will tickets for the home games be made available through ticketmaster at all?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,930 ✭✭✭duckysauce

nope they are the two biggest matches so it will sell out no problem

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,363 ✭✭✭Brenireland

so no luck with ticket master, maybe a local club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,197 ✭✭✭kensutz

Clubs tend to only deal with their members so unless you are a member of a club, you will find it hard to get any ticket.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,502 ✭✭✭chris85

ok so thinking of heading over for the game. Anyone know where can get a couple of tickets for the game.

Not a club member so cant get them through that avenue.

Also if some people some spare feel free to send me a PM or if they can secure me a ticket through their club i would be grateful.

Check your confirm but they don't normally post them to addresses outside of the UK, you need to collect from the ticket office at Murrayfield. Am fully expecting to have to do that this year (Like every other year). The SRU don't post any tickets abroad (even ML tickets!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,142 ✭✭✭OldRio

    Thanks for that.
Just checked my email. I'll pick them up on the Saturday before the drink.

Not sure if this is the right thread but just got an email offering 6 nations tickets. Check the prices (per ticket) of the Ire v England game

    http://www.getmein.com/tickets/six-nations-ireland-v-england-tickets/dublin-176400.html

    How is this happening?

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 6,542 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sheep Shagger

Get me in are a subsidiary of Ticketmaster.

clubs (both in England but probably more in Ireland) who are struggling to financially sell some or all of their tickets at higher than face value to raise cash. Getmein apply their margin and that's how you to the prices being asked on the website.

It's well documented and has been happening for years....sad but true.

Because firstly, people are greedy/desperate/opportunistic/scalpers I]delete where appropriate[/I and secondly, it technically is not illegal.

Where possible and if caught tickets such as Irish Rugby Supporters Club allocated, if being hocked above face value will be nullified without rebate and memberships cancelled.

One other thing to remember re.scalpers is that they most likely are not yet in possession of the actual ticket per se but speculate ahead of issue.
If you buy off a scalper then expect to be burned in one or more ways.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭vkid

Suppose i am just completely shocked at the price per ticket..400+Stg.
    Thats 5/600Eu per ticket.

I know it can't be fully stopped but this is a joke by anyones standards especially if they are a subsidiary of ticketmaster which the IRFU use for some games. Surely if thats the case the IRFU can and should have some influence here?

    Just saw the email:
    Returned Tickets On Sale
For immediate release: Thursday 3rd March 2011
Issued on behalf of The Irish Rugby Football Union

A very limited number of tickets for the RBS 6 Nations clash against England in Aviva Stadium on March 19th have been returned to the Supporters Club.

Tickets will go on sale at 3:15 pm today March 3rd. Please note tickets will sell out fast.

Any member who has already purchased tickets for this year's RBS 6 Nations through the Supporters Club will not be able to purchase further tickets. This is to ensure that those members who missed out in the first sale have another opportunity to purchase.

    What about this guy?

Selling 10yr Ticket and bizarrely hasn't obscured his name in pic of tickets.

Also I'd be wary of this seller offering 10 tickets at relatively low prices

Roll up, Roll up, Leinster quarter final tickets available from Leicester returns, from E30 in upper tier on halfway line! (all be it at very back, but still great view).

Leinster season tickets also going on sale.

Check out ticket section on Leinsterrugby.ie

    http://www.leinsterrugby.ie/newsroom/7740.php

Season tickets (get in early, sold out last season and are on sale early for next season and will sell out again). Must join the waiting list for tickets if you are not already a season ticket holder - get in early and you'll pick up season tickets from non-renewals

Seems only section 523 of East Upper has any really decent seats left.

Sitting way up the back, much of the spectacle, garryowens etc can be obscured.

I am considering buying a season ticket for Leinster this year. Anytime I try the booking engine it dumps me in block A or B of Anglesea stand. ( even for the more expensive packages )

Are there any decent seats actually left ? can't be arsed to go to the terrace.
