Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fancy Carbury to turn Celbridge over on Friday night, will probably head over to it. Heard Brophy is leaving tomorrow.

I enjoyed that weekend. Kildare hurlers landing another title in 2014 and Kill avoiding the drop. :D

What a display by Johnny Doyle on Sunday night. I fully expected Confey to beat Allenwood but you can never write that man off. Superb footballer.

Kill are masters of relegation finals. That was their third in a row.

Surprised Suncroft laid down so easily against Eadestown, they were 2-9 to 0-0 down at half time. Rainbow came off the bench for them.

Celbridge may struggle for scores if Paddy Brophy is unavailable tomorrow night. I still have a hunch that they will have enough to get past Carbury. They have the defenders to do a man marking job on Eoghan O'Flaherty and Terry Rossiter. I like how they have shaped up so far this year. They were humiliated by Moorefield at this stage last year and will be going all out to right that wrong.

Speaking of the Moores you would expect they will have too much power for JTB tomorrow night. If JTB can keep it open they do have the legs to give Moorefield serious problems but it's more likely that Moorefield will turn it into a dogfight and there are few teams in Kildare that can go blow for blow with them in that sort of encounter.

Sarsfields v Maynooth is an interesting one. There doesn't appear to be a whole lot of confidence behind the Sash this year. There's some serious talent coming through at that club but it will be a few years yet before those talented underage players are ready to make a big impact at senior level. I think Maynooth have a shout in this one. They have put up some big scores in the last few rounds albeit against inferior teams. Sarsfields will be a big step up and will probably win out in the end but I can see it being tighter than the odds suggest.

Have to tip Carbury if Brophy is out. Moores and Sash should come through in their games

    Moores 0-4 JTB 0-3. 18 mins gone.

Maybe Mixlr doesn't work on mobile.

The one man band.. pity he's not home bred

    HT: Moores 1-6 JTB 0-4. O'Connor with 1-4 (1f)

Carbury beating Celbridge by 0-4 to 0-3 at HT.

O'Connor is definitely good enough to play inter-county, whether he wants to with Kildare is another story.

0-6 apiece in Car Cel game. Brophy has gone to Oz during the week as rumours suggested

Seems to be doing all the scoring for the Moores this year, probably a natural forward they haven't had in years

O connor brings a different style of football that he picked up in his school days and as usually in kildare no one will be able to pick him up.

Great win - some good performances from Celbridge's county players but Shane Harte stole the show.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Éanna O'Connor is a serious addition to that Moorefield team.

Good win for Celbridge in Kilcock. If Paddy Brophy is back for the semi final they will be tough to beat.

Sarsfields v Maynooth today. This is an interesting one, while I think The Sash will win, I wouldn't be at all too shocked to see Maynooth win. Has the potential to be a high scoring game.

The Division 3 final is also on today, Nurney play Suncroft. Nurney to win that IMO.

Sarsfields are out of there skins

Sarsfields winning 3-13 to 0-4 at HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,492 ✭✭✭roy rodgers

    Ht 3-13 to 0-04 sarsfields.

    sarsfields looking shape and fast.
Looking at them tonight they have improved leaps and bounds

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    SHC sfs:

Coill Dubh 0-20 Éire Óg Corra Choill 2-9 (FT)

Cill Droichid 0-9 Árd Cloch 0-5 (HT)

Coill Dubh well worth their win in the opener. Get the impression watching this one that Celbridge can kick it up another few gears if needs be but hoping that Ardclough can make a game of it in the second half.

That sounds like a real one sided affair Roy. I expected Maynooth to push Sarsfields all the way. Any players standing out?

They're all playing well. Smithy and ray cahill are picking off some nice scores.
alan scully making plenty of runs from the back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

There must be at least three or four minors in that Sarsfields 15. Very bright future ahead of them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Ardclough back to within a point 10-9

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Celbridge back ahead by 3

    45mis sarsfields 3-18 to maynooth 0-07

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Celbridge 1-16 Ardclough 0-11

    About 10 minutes remaining

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Celbridge 2-20 Ardclough 0-13

Celbridge v Coill Dubh just like 2005, 2009 and 2010. I would expect the same outcome as those 3 finals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,492 ✭✭✭roy rodgers

Full time 3-22 to 0-12 sarsfields.

Sarsfields brought on 4 of the younger lads early in the second half and unlucky not to get another goal only for the cross bar.
the future is bright in newbridge for sure.

Yeah it is very hard pick a winner at this stage and them odds pretty much reflect that

Just seen in the Mayo thread amongst their county board shambles that Barry Solan has joined them. Potentially a big loss as it seemed he had the players on the right track. Hopefully he is replaced with somebody decent and hopefully the players are kept away from the Herbalife rubbish.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    That's a shame.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,088 ✭✭✭Nib

    A big loss?

We were relegated and underwhelmed in the championship. I don't get the fascination with these guys. If this guy was brought in long term to get our lads in perfect shape why has he jumped ship to Mayo?

Im hoping that Kevin McStay is still sniffing around the Kildare job now that he has missed out on the Mayo one, would love to see him take over

I'm happier with the imperfect Jason Ryan for the moment and am still hopeful that Cian O'Neill will be the next in line if possible. Being involved in 5 all Ireland finals in 7 years in his various roles is some record coupled with the fact that it seemed that Fitzmaurice has made very little decisions on the line without consulting him.

Sarsfields are a great price from what I saw last weekend. I'll be having a bit of that please..]

Should be straightforward for Athy tonight unless Johnny Doyle produces some magic again.

Think I'll head over to that. Might be a decent game.

Relegation Final - Ballymore v Leixlip also on tonight, I'll eat my hat if Ballymore win.
