Ordered last Friday and it was posted on Monday.

Looking at the address on the dispatch email the postcode is missing from it.

Do you think this will cause a problem?

Arrived in my Parcel Motel this morning so no issue with the post code not being on the address.

Cant wait to get it home and stick Plex on it.

Probably going to order one of these out of curiosity! I'm with UPC, anyone checked if it can link with horizon.tv?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭Newtown90

One of mine arrived yesterday! Installed plex, linked it to my server and it worked perfectly! Streaming everything :D delighted with it!!

Lads quick question, what type of av cable would you use with this? Gonna connect my old telly upstairs to the nas downstairs wirelessly via this hopefully and only have scart and aerial ports on the telly

Only way to connect is via HDMI, unless you connect from HDMI to scart.

here you have something hdmi to scart

It's either HDMI or mini-jack to composite RCA (yellow red white) but the telly must be NTSC capable.

If the TV has no RCA you'll need the 3 RCA to Scart Converter too.

    Hello there,

This is my first post so hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes by asking this question.

I have read every page on this thread but I can't find out how to use BBC iplayer. I see it says DNS change needed. Can somebody let me know how to do this and also if it costs money.
I installed plex and the youtube plug in and it's all working perfect but I would really like to use the BBC iplayer.
I also installed the history channel plug in but nothing seems to play on that.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

BBC Iplayer is not available to people in Ireland. A good way round it (And also for accessing the various different versions of Netflix is Unblock Us)

    http://www.unblock-us.com/

They do a free one week trial.

Have mine up and running. Plex running great, which is my main reason for getting it.

Trying to get the movies 30 day free trial, trying to sign up for it on the website, when in sign in it then asks for credit card details for a sub ;8.99 a month.
    Is this the normal procedure?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭daytob

If mods are ok maybe you can post some details or maybe send them by PM if you don't mind.

    Thanks

Its very straightforward just sign up for the free trial, http://www.unotelly.com/unodns/signup

Then follow the instructions here with regard to tweeting/facebook for your free months.
    http://www.unotelly.com/quickstart2/promo

For nowtv you can't change the dns on the box so you need to change the dns servers on your router.
I use Ireland server for primary: 54.247.108.9
    and uk / germany for secondary: 176.58.107.53 / 46.165.219.110

    Router setup instructions here:
    http://quickstart3.unotelly.com/#setup

I use no-ip free to notify unotelly if my ip changes
    http://www.noip.com/free

Alternatively you just sign into unotelly online and it updates for you.

I've followed these instructions, thanks and I can now view BBC iplayer on my laptop but not through the Now TV box. The error I'm getting is 'Sorry: geolocation"

Any suggestions to what to do?

    Thanks

Restart the box, you may need to disconnect from the wireless network and reconnect to get the new dns addresses.

Do I need to set a reminder for the tweeting/facebook for the free month or do they send you an email to let you know the 30days are up?

I powered everything down and then powered them back on but didn't have any luck.
By restarting the box would that mean having to reinstall plex?

    Thanks

Did you configure the DNS servers in the router?

I'm with UPC, changed DNS on the UPCMode/router, restarted UPC router and NowTV box, all working ok on laptop and NowTV box

I did. I'm with Vodafone and previously when I had to port forward my router to watch a match via Acestrem they change it back after a few days so maybe they've got some way of blocking this too when streaming.

    Cheers for all the help.

    Hi Guys

Puzzles here, I dropped a now tv box to the girlfriends house last night, using it for plex! Worked perfect on the tv!

Woke up this morning plugged it in to see the new stuff i added and the plex screen is stuck in the top left hand side and the cursor doesn't respond to where it is on the screen?

    Pic attached

Is your plex media server running?

Ya it works fine it's just the user interface that is all squashed up!

On the now tv box go to settings, network, click on your network and click connect even if its already connected it should give you the new dns settings. Otherwise you may need to expire the dhcp lease manually on your router or wait for them to expire.

Did Game of Thrones appear on this when the last series was running?

I think this box is a little underpowered. The UI is fine. But the playback of movies and the TV shows has the tiniest bit of judder that I don't get on Netflix over the same wifi. Seems to settle after a while. But I notice it from time to time.
