I dont think DC is going to have much trouble taking down Gus tbh....

maybe you are right....im in two minds but i still think Gus is more of a 13/8 shot myself

    9/2 faber?
    thats seems most unlikely surely

not a whole lot of value in it but its frankie or possibly aldo so they have it priced right sadly
maybe there are worse bets than dos anjos at 50s however but I really cant see him moving up after the aldo fight unless wanting to maybe avoid frankie who will be his toughest opponent imo
can't see chad getting past frankie either

is gustaffson not a massive price at 12/5?? he towers all over DC, he will find it hard to take him down i think

11/4 with Stan James. Always take the best value around even if it means having to set up a new account. :)

Yep, I do. I've had a little nibble on him.

I think if he utilises his reach more effectively than Rumble did he can help to negate the wrestling and pick away at Cormier on his way to a decision win.

There's certainly value in Gustafsson at almost 3/1 IMO.

The 5s.about a gus decision is appealing aswell

    15/2 bet365 ;)

honestly think it the only way he can beat dc myself and at that price I can't
    resist a small one

Aldo or Frankie are most likely if he wins and stays at 145.
If he loses, both of those fights are off the table imo. Faber makes a lot of sense in that regard

I don't think DC will have a problem getting Gus down, but I think he'll have a problem keeping him down. I've never been impressed with DC's top game,

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,375 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

It's worth remembering; DC had never lost a single round in MMA before the JJ fight. A lot here are seriously underestimating him. Also as much as I love Gus, the only reason he got this fight is because there is absolutely nobody else for DC to fight (Bader was never going to happen and never will). He hasn't really beaten anyone at the highest level, and I don't see that changing. I'd love to see Gus get the win and defend against JJ in April at MSG, but none of that is going to happen IMO. I'll be lumping on a DC decision.

I was drunk the other night and decided in my supreme wisdom to do this and a Gustaffson included

you are probably right given there isnt really anyone else worthy in the division outside of the main three
not a one sided beating I would like to see though

Bit of value in Hollaway 16/1 but your banking on him being beaten against Aldo as Holloway wont be a realistic option if he wins. Bit of value because i can see him wanting a quick fight if hes beat and Holloways always ready and willing at the drop of a hat.
So its a rematch against a guy that has clearly improved since their last meeting so there is some merit in the rematch.

What's everyone thinking for the weekend?

I haven't checked odds yet but I was thinking about DC, Bader & Magomedov as a treble

There's nothing I'd really fancy lumping money on but I will have one or two small bets for fun, including the usual long shot MOV accumulator:

    Bader by decision
    Namajunas by sub
    DC by KO
    Pena by decision
    Benavidez by decision

    €10 pays €1224

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Namajunas to win via submission (2/1, Boyles).

That's a good bet. I remember Hill having literally zero bjj against Esparza on tuf, and Rose is obviously very good on the ground.

Northcutts guy came I'm 5lbs heavy, with that and it being his debut and wanting to impress the fight to end in u2.5 @ 5/4 is a massive massive price.

Gone with a treble of that, cariaso & makachev pays just over 10/1

Just so I don't after time if any of them win this is what iv done so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,848 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

treble at a little under 14/1 boyles
    rose sub
    benav dec
    evans dec

i see evans bader to go the distance is 4/9
now If I had 1k to spare and I could put it on anything then surely thats the safest bet of the day (or cormier possibly)
this will be truly unwatchable, would love to be proven wrong

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,848 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

my idea of a banker accum if ever there was one
    odds 2.53/1 boyles

    northcutt
    rodriguez
    cormier
    bader/evans to go the distance

saver on gus dec at 7/1

tuning out now in case I see more, good luck all with your bets

    who's reshad? :)

I think there are a couple of decisions with funky odds. I got Jouban going to decision at +120 and at Boyles they're giving Adriano Martins vs Islam Makhachev going to decision at evens.

So my longshot MOV acca on all the fights.

€1 returns a ridiculous amount lol

Viktor Pesta on Points @ 5/1
Sergio Pettis on Points @ 7/5
Sage Northcutt on Points @ 6/4
Rose Namajunas by Submission @ 9/5
Adriano Martins on Points @ 23/10
Albert Tumenov by KO @ 7/5
Yair Rodriguez by Submission @ 5/1
Julianna Pena by KO @ 6/1
Joseph Benavidez on Points @ 4/5
Ruslan Magomedov by KO @ 15/8
Rashad Evans on Points @ 8/5
Alexander Gustafsson on Points @ 9/2

Will stick a few of them on as singles and trebles as well

    Main bet on acca of

Sergio Pettis on Points @ 7/5
Rose Namajunas by Submission @ 9/5
Joseph Benavidez on Points @ 4/5
Rashad Evans on Points @ 8/5

    Gone for

    Rashad
    Gus
    Northcutt
    Magomedov

    9/1..

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,481 ✭✭✭tinpib

    Pesta on points, 6.0 :(
    Cariaso rd 1, 12.0
    Sage Northcutt rd 1, 4.0
    Rose Namajunas pts, 3.1
    Adriano Martins pts, 3.3
    Albert Tumenov by KO, 2.4
    Yair Rodriguez KO, 4.5

Jessica Eye rd 1, 18.0 [I just realised that's a mistake, should've been Pena rd 1, but my attention to details was poor, ah well]

    0.01c goliath, total €2.47 to win a cool €28.5k.

But my Pesta bet is already gone. :(

only thing catching my eye so far at the weekend is the 6/4 about cariaso beating sergio pettis, a price I just took with hills

first I don't rate sergio pettis very highly and secondly cariaso has been in there with some of the best and all his losses have been against guys on a different level to sergio pettis

sergio has improved to say the least
could not have been more wrong about this one

Medium stake on Northcutt to win by KO or Submission at 10/11

Easiest bet of the night hopefully someone was on it.
