Devastating news. Awful sad on the families of those on the plane. Really really hope there are survivors.

Almost as much chance of it not being shot down to be honest.

A Ukrainian interior ministry official, Anton Geraschenko, says that all 295 people aboard have died.

Mr Geraschenko has written on his Facebook page that the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters (33,000 feet) when it was hit Thursday by a missile fired from a Buk launcher.

What's going to happen the world if Al Queda or ISIS ever get there hands on weapons like these? We would be like ducks in a barrel up there.

Could it be the same group?

Could of been Ukraine thinking it was a Russian jet?? In retaliation??

I was due to be in that plane but changed to Wednesdays flight I'm devastated at how close to death I came

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

If true it's a cock up of truly staggering proportions.

I still can't believe 300 people are dead just like that...this one will hit closer to home than MH370 that's for sure.

If they were Russian separatists, how in the name of God did they get their hands on such a weapon? Russia?

There's going to be massive international consequences as a result of this I reckon

If it was Russia...then not unprecedented. I am old enough (o.k. it was only 1983) to remember KAL 007
