Its likely that all the runoff from the mountain will go into the rivers and raise them quite a bit.

Well that was insane, fairview and the surrounding areas are hit quite bad.

Ok I think this maybe needs to hold on to the title a bit..

I've noticed another sPlurg of colour on the met office radar to the south of us.. Can the weather people tell me if this is heading for the east coast, uk or fizzle out...?

Can I suggest maybe starting another(if not already one) thread about current conditions, people's travels home, reports etc

    Thanks.

Anyone know what Fairview/Marino is like? Need to get from Ballsbridge to Killester, and given the proximity of Fairview to Clontarf I'm assuming it's impassable.

A big blob of precip is going to move over the country overnight, unforecast.

I wonder will it hit the east? touch and go.

There wont be any tsunami effect tomorrow evening unless one of the reservoirs is forced to release a lot of water suddenly. Rivers are probably at or near their highest points around Dublin now, or in the next few hours with the Liffey maybe taking a bit longer due to it's longer track and larger catchment area.

It's very bad out there already, potentially could get much worse if the liffey doesn;t hold up.

Looking at raintoday.co.uk I can see a big blob heading our way....looks like it will hit. Is that what you're referring to?

The severe flooding that hit Cork was 2 days after the heavy rain fell.
The dam was holding back the water and eventually had to release it.
All I'm saying is be very watchful of where all this mountain water will go
The fact that the rain has stopped is completely irrelevent

    Look at it here.

    West of Cornwall.

Looks almost tropical in its characteristics!!

Well it's put me out of my home.

I live in a basement flat in Churchtown and when I last saw it at about 9.30 there was about 6-8 inches of water everywhere and rising. It was coming up through the floor, everywhere at once. I'm a bit stunned right now.

As for Dundrum Town Centre, I did expect this to happen at some point. If you are familiar with the former Dundrum Bowl, you will know why.

I'm just trying to find out if all the Basement car parks filled up completely with water too.

The rush hour drive home this evening in the Dublin Region will not be fun.

"Spells of heavy rain affecting parts of north Leinster and Ulster will continue to clear northwards overnight, with drier weather developing in many areas and just a little patchy rain or drizzle.
"However, another spell of persistent and locally heavy rain will spread into much of Munster and south Leinster overnight."

Spotted that on RTE.IE no updateas yet on Met.ie ..where has this come from.

Windows aren't going to make a bit of difference when there's flooding. Every single car in that car park (And every other flooded car park) is more than likely ruined.

I expect Enniscorthy to get hit by morning,it stopped raining about 7.30pm but the problem is gona be all the rainwater hitting the Slaney from Wicklow down. The river has been rising since yesterday and so far the only saving grace has been the unusually low water levels recently have kept it from flooding sooner.
