Not in the airport today but it was a joy to see an A350 -1000 doing circuits today from a distance ..... flying in the Airbus markings so it may have been an
AB evaluation aircraft ...... good of them to spend some time in Shannon .....

any announcement yet on the canadian route?

Not yet, however they are 5 hours behind in Toronto, and as much as 8 hours behind in Vancouver, so it's not too late yet. Hopefully the routes announced today.

Airport down 5.5% between April and June. Very disappointing decrease.

The CSO doesn’t include the transit passengers.

Shannon’s second quarter was much the same as last year.

    2017-Q2: 493,800 Passengers
    2016-Q2: 493,937 Passengers

It still highlights a loss in pax being generated at the airport and the failure to maintain routes. Transit numbers don't affect this.

So no real impact of the B767 loss on BOS and a LF of 95.7%!

Impressive, most TATL has been doing very well (with the exception of EWR, which has its numbers in free fall lately, wonder why?)

The passenger response to the B767 was very poor, was really disliked. Maybe the return of the 757 contributed to pax willing to spend more to get back on the service?

Also, very promising to see Chicago growing, I'd have fears for that route in the future as 757's become rarer and rarer, however if growth like that was to continue it would improve hopes for the route.

If there is, It'll be posted here very quickly.

I don't think we'll hear of it today tbh, getting very late.

Quote from PPrune user AerRyan - "Sadly, latest info is that the announcement is delayed for a day or two. Should hear by the middle of the week."

Probably to do with Easter being in March in 2016 and in April in 2017.

Delighted Air Canada will start flying to Shannon. As an Irish guy in Toronto we were dying out for another direct service other than Toronto - Dublin. I am from Cork city so I wish it was direct to Cork airport but this is the second best thing avoiding Dublin completely. Really good news I just hope its popular and they make it all year round especially for Christmas.

    A321-271 NEO
    A319-151 NEO

Worldwide Aircraft Holdings also trained with a B747-8ZV aircraft too.
