This could be a batches issue.
The EMA are talking about statistical deviations at a high level. This is about a pattern that is being spotted on the ground and it warrants investigation.

Hopefully there is no causation demonstrated and vaccination can continue in confidence.

The reliance on vaccines to get us out of this is really starting to back fire.

We need a multi faceted approach - more investment in track and trace, measurable milestones to reduce restrictions, proper enforcement of major restriction breaches

I was booked in for later today for the AZ vaccine in one of the major hospitals as I fall into the severe risk category. I just received a text to say it is cancelled.

Not surprised funnily enough, I was shocked earlier in the week when they contacted us given it was week one for group 4. Although they sent the actual notification to my husband's phone.

My thoughts exactly, a decent proportion of people are already cautious of the AZ vaccine and this will just increase it.

What I’m struggling with is if there is a problem why isn’t it done on a European level, there either is an issue or there isn’t. Why are countries making their own judgements and coming up with different solutions.

There isn’t an issue, Norway have previous with the Pfizer vaccine!
The likes of Germany and France who’ve been struggling to get people to take any vaccine are in deep shît now to be honest. The end game for Covid is going to happen a lot quicker then we think!
I can see only the most vulnerable and people over 60 getting jabs and places will have to open up. Vaccine hesitantly is going to go through the roof

Anyone who declines a vaccine needs to be told to get to the back of the queue then. When all the other cohorts are done then they can book in for another vaccine, some time around August/September.

That might be a worse outcome, if production sites can't be trusted. It is the only vaccine that seems to have run into issues like this, in production.
