Spain have announced the plans to come out of restrictions,
Pedro Sanchez announces that if all goes well, the earliest return to normal will be on June 8.

PHASE 1
The next phase is phase 1, in which the partial start-up of small businesses will be authorized in each territorial phase defined under strict security measures, except for large shopping centers, where large crowds can occur. A preferential schedule for people over 65 will be set up in stores.

In public transport, the use of the mask will be strongly recommended. In phase 1, small businesses or terraces may open with restrictions, as well as hotels and accommodations according to each province.

In phase 1, places of worship can open with a 30% limitation.

PHASE 2
Phase 2 will be a gradual opening of many places. Pedro Sanchez has finally announced that in phase 2, cinemas and theaters will be opened with a limit of one third of capacity.

During this new phase, the interior space of the restaurant premises may be opened for table service. Cultural events can take place with less than 50 people in places with suitable capacity, and if it is outdoors, it will be possible if they gather less than 400 people and as long as they are seated.

Hunting and sport fishing will be authorized.

PHASE 3
The third phase is the advanced phase: once the required markers are filled, the mobility restrictions will be limited.

In the restaurant sector, the seating restrictions will be a little less limited, but with a strict separation between the public. The capacity of commercial establishments will be limited to 50% with a distance of two meters.

It is during this phase 3 that the beaches can open again.

Each of the phases described will have a minimum period of two weeks. This means that the de-escalation phase will last at least six weeks, or a month and a half.

At the end of these three phases in each territory, the “de-escalation” will be finished and the "new normal" will be in place. At that point, the social restrictions will end ", but the sanitary and hygienic recommendations will be maintained.

Going by some of the frankly unbelievable comments in this thread - wherein anyone not supporting complete step down to no restrictions - were being referred to as nazis. Most possibly because it cramps their lifestyle and reckon old people / those with critical conditions are more or less expendable anyway.

Some will have to be dragged kicking and screaming and or at least promised lollipops.

Its looking quite a bit more promising that we will have a vaccine sooner than later. There are lots of people not attending hospital appointments. People not being getting routine cervical smears , breast checks etc. Lots of elective and crucial ops been postponed. Many people are not presenting to GP's or A and E with symptoms that are serious. This will have to be dealt with before we consider other things. If many of these people require hospital treatment and ICU beds and we allow a big ease on restrictions and the virus spikes again which is highly likely our health service will be in a mess. It is best to prioritise and open up very slowly so if we have to lock down again quickly it wont be too devastating. If we do it slowly we can deal with these things. Then hopefully we will be closer to the vaccine even by the end of the year and then things can get back to more normal. Its not that long in the run of things. The Oxford vaccine looks promising to date and if it is successful we are looking at mass production end of this yr into next.

The answer with everything is always in finding the right balance. The nonsense that gets posted on here about people wanting to go to pubs and likewise people wanting people to die to save the economy, it's all bull-crap. There's a balance and saving lives is crucial but it's also crucial that we don't destroy lives by shutting down businesses and ruining people's source of income.
Now we got asked to do this lockdown for the greater good and we've done it. It then got extended and we did it again.
At some stage you have to accept that this virus will remain with us for a year and you have to make your peace with that and cope as best you can. But you cannot live like this for another year. And extending it by yet another 2 weeks won't make a lot of difference to something that will last for 12 months or more. However, it WILL do even more damage to families who are dependent on small business to support their kids, it will do even more damage to people's sanity and their mental health.
This was only ever done to buy time and in that time the HSE have failed to do their side of bargain while the rest of us have done ours.
It has to end at some stage and if businesses can adhere to social distancing in the work place then they should and need to be allowed re-open.
People also need to be allowed go see family members etc. This is not sustainable for all sorts of reasons.
I have every sympathy with the vulnerable and elderly, I truly do but this will stay with us for the long term anyway and kicking the can down the road for another fortnight won't fix that. But meanwhile there's massive damage being done to people who badly need to re-open their businesses to support their families and massive damage being done to people's mental health.
There's a balance and I didn't take issue with this lockdown lasting til 5th May but I think we need to lift it to some degree on the 5th rather than adding on another 2 weeks and there badly needs to be some light now because it has been a long tunnel already for a lot of people.
My own Dad would fall into the category of the vulnerable with this virus and he even said to me today he thinks society needs to re-open more than the leaks given to the newspapers today.
Nobody can stay locked up for 12 months or more so it's time to get used to the fact that we need to live with this and move on as best we can.

I'm sure a lot of people could say that about the people they work with. NPHET are supposed to be setting an example. If they couldn't give a toss about social distancing, why should we take them seriously?

I think it's clear that the intention is to antagonise the interlocutor and thus "win" the argument. The trouble is that it's extremely irritating to anyone (normal) who reads it, which causes the thrust of the post's argument to be lost and thus amounts to inept communication. Best to simply not engage with it. At all.
