What's the craic (pun intended) with anal sex?

Morning folks,

As this is AH, I'm expecting a plethora of vulgar answers but I'm genuinely wondering, what's the story with men and anal sex? Every guy I've been with over the last few years has asked for it. I can't think of a single guy who hasn't asked me if I'm up for it. Nothing at all wrong with that, I have done it in the right circumstances when the mood has taken over but I definitely don't enjoy it. I'm just wondering why men like it so much. I think the.. for want of a better word, normal way, is much nicer. Is it because its a bit taboo (or is it even?), is it because it shows the girl has a dirty side? Also.. And this hugely worries me, are you put off by a girl who does it? Do you judge her in some maybe even subconscious way?

Channel 4 ran a sex ed programme few years back and surveyed teenagers about sex and their perceptions of it. Few things I remember is that most teen boys thought all women were hairless

Yeah I find it quite telling that in threads where people seem to be so open and truthful yet still there is a determined effort to avoid certain aspects of truth. That sounds a bit judgemental on the anal sexers among us. I’m sure the vagina suffers from mis- and over use. The anus is open to being explored during sex like all other parts of the body. As for the STI bit, yes receptive anal is more prone to transmission but in my opinion nothing compared to the amount of STIs transmitted via the vagina. I’m guessing most anal (straight) is done in the context of actual relationships where the STI status of both partners is known. Maybe if there wasn’t such a stigma around anal it’d be less taboo and therefore obsessed over by men.

I was not passing judgement. I was relating recorded facts gathered from medical surveys and statistics. You can choose how you respond to the facts. Same like with any other fact.
