Just check it has a Satellite tuner in the specs.
That is all you need to know for Free to Air reception.

The specs may describe the satellite tuner as DVB-S or DVB-S2. Also the TV will have a screw-on F-connector at the rear for the satellite dish input.

I don't think Sony have a Freesat TV in their range since about 2009/10, FTA only. I own one from that time, a W5810 model.

Nordmende and Walker combi TVs has a combined Saorview and FTA satellite channel list, no switching between tuners. See this thread - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=102912544#post102912544

It has both a Satellite tuner for Free to Air sat channels, and a Terrestrial tuner for reception by aerial.

Freesat is a specific proprietary firmware that some devices have licenced but not many TVs. The TV channels available through Freesat are the same as those available Free to Air.
With Freesat you get some extras like 7 day EPG.
