Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Illegal lol
    Quick ring the guards
These alarms are fine, I have one in a garage where i keep my tools
    Grand for for the money
Wouldn't be any good for home insurance purposes

Its illegal if some joe off the street says he'll horse in for a hundred quid. DIY is fine but installers need to be certified. The lads in the home security forum have the ins and outs.

It's not illegal, just certifiable for insurance reasons. If it were illegal we we'd all be criminals for changing our lightbulbs instead of using an electrician.
And argues would be sued for supplying illegal goods.

Yes it is illegal, check the private security services act.

Its not illegal to sell them not to buy them, just to installed them for someone else uncertified.

Sorry if this is slightly OT, but is there anyway of browsing the whole Argos catalogue while restricting search results by price? (i.e. not just once you've narrowed your search down to "Home&Garden\Furniture\Bedroom\...." (etc.))

Reason I ask is I've reserved items in my local store to the value of €49.90 and am loooking for the equivalent of an Amazon "top-up" item to nudge it over the €50 mark and get my €5 voucher... :p

I think you can check the clearance items by store and order by the lowest price. So check what's on clearance in your local store that you've items reserved in and pick the lowest price. It shows all items regardless of the section.

Edit: Also this is a good place to check. First result is a €1 box of toffees.

You can search the clearance on Checkargos select store, a minimum and maximum price. The section can be left as All Section

Its listed on UK sites a Freeview only, not Freeview HD. I would question Argos about that as its illegal for them to sell a tv that cannot tune in the Saorview channels, without explicitly stating so. If you buy it, make sure you can return it for a full refund if it dose'nt work.

Yeah, Argos can be a stickler for that, as i had to return a dvd player that mentioned on the box it could play mp4 files, but didnt & wouldn't take it back & even told them that even people were saying it in the reviews on the website, but they wouldn't check it, citing it's frozen!

Until i remembered somewhere in the enclosed booklet, that some mp4's may have problems playing, they had to take it back, :)

Hi yeah, checked in store today. It is a Uk Freeview compatible TV, NOT Saorview. Would need to get a Saorview box with it. That makes it less of a bargain. Unless you picked up a Saorview on the cheap.

Would you be able to get the Saorview channels in Ireland just off a typical Irish Aerial or do you need a Dish??

    An aerial. :)

Saorview channels can also be got (no TV3 though) on Saorsat where you need a dish which points in a different direction from the usual Astra 28.2 I think its called. Not a big take up on that though.

The only other method is by taking out a Sky subscription.

Very much doubt its the same model. Please provide a link if you think it is. I got this on Amazon for £220 sterling recently (and even at this price it was well worth every penny).

Please provide a link to substantiate your claims.

there are 2 versions : one is ht-ct60bt which is about 130 on amazon.

this one is ht-ct260h and is currently £185 on amazon. easy to get the 2 mixed up on a quick glance, which is what i did when i first read the post.

Ive a wafer thin led and it'd blow the head of ya volume wise at any number north of 50....and it goes to 100.

Something wrong with folk spending that money on a speaker for a tv.
