There will be an election next year.

Regretfully it smacks of profile raising, likelihood of anything coming from the talks is remote.

Anybody know if Automated Passport Control (APC) are available for US departures. Could be a case staff at SNN can adequately handle traffic volumes just wondering if they have them also?

Indeed, and it reads quite strangely in the context of the main story
Pat Breen, the chair of the Dail Foreign Affairs Committee, had a 90-minute meeting with Ibrahim Halawa (inset) at Wad Al-Natrun prison in Cairo. He said the young man is doing well in what are "very trying circumstances". The 19-year-old, from Tallaght, was arrested at a mosque in Cairo after a demonstration in 2013 and has been held in detention awaiting trial since then. .... Mr Breen also revealed that he is set to have talks today with the CEO of Egypt Air to explore giving the airline clearance rights at Shannon airport for its flights to the US and Canada. He said the talks are not part of any quid pro quo agreement between Ireland and Egypt to help secure Ibrahim's release.
There's something faintly cringe-inducing about the story.

OMNI are using a 767-300 on the SNN-BOS route as of late, not the 767-200 with the EI titles. What would be of serious concern to me is the lack of PTV's. I personally wouldn't be happy thrown onto one of them.

Edit: Just noticed there is also no business class on the -300 as it was fitted especially on the -200. Does this mean all business pax are routed via Dublin?

Only in last day or two anyway, must be an issue with the 762. Last 767 flight on that run is on Sunday, 757 back on route from Sunday night.

Yeah the 757 back operating SNN-BOS as of Monday! Interested to see what they plan on doing next year

There were a number of flights diverted to Shannon over the past few days.

An Etihad A330 was one of six planes that diverted to Shannon due to a hanger fire in Dublin Airport on Wednesday.

A Primera B737-7 diverted to Shannon on Thursday night, reason unknown?

Yesterday, an Alitalia B777-2 diverted to Shannon while enroute from LAX to Fiumicino in Italy. It was met in Shannon by another Alitalia A320 aircraft. Presumably the crew had to be replace by a relief crew due to the number of hours on duty.

Primera diverted for fuel because of bad weather forecast at KEF. They waited a while to see if an improved forecast would come but crew went out of hours. It departured almost 24h later

Should this be happening? Are they putting in such an exact amount that abit of wind has them diverting?

Not quite that. Keflavik is unique in that it's alternates are very far away. Owing to performance issues they couldnt depart tenerife with enough fuel for prolonged holding at KEF and possible diversion to Glasgow (Keflavik alternate), so the stop at SNN. Of course they held out at SNN in the hope of a better forecast and ended up running out of hours.

When you say empty you mean fewer than 100 pax?

You'd know the schools are back

    Yeah 80-90 max

Oh dear, very poor EI would realistically be looking for 120+ at a minimum this time of year even with holidays just after ending. Could be one to watch until it ends and hope it was a one off.

Yeah fully boarded with doors closed at 17:35 for an 18:00 departure. It has performed pretty well over the summer though similar enough figures to Ryanairs flights. I'd imagine it's pretty expensive to operate. Crew are bused up from ORK and the crew arriving in from FAO are bused back down to ORK. Same arrangement for the AGP flights, which is obviously got to do the crew hours.

How much could it cost to bus the crew though? Not very much, maybe €100 both ways....

At least that. It's alot of expense per flight that may be marginal at times.

Loads to AGP doing good overall?

Will be interesting to see what EI do next year at Cork and any impact it may have on SNN or DUB to fit DUS in. Believe their schedules are going out really soon.

Yeah AGP not too bad at all, pretty popular with families etc. Ryanair seems more towards the younger ones heading out on student holidays, or short trips away.

Yes that will be interesting to see alright..

Yeah I'm sure it's not too expensive, just a charge that you'd forget about

Hey, does anyone know if US Airways Flight 777 to Philadelphia is operated by a US Airways B757 or an American airlines plane. I am due to take this flight next week and wanted to know if there was video on demand in flight entertainment or old US Airways Overhead screens?

Basically a US Airways 757 with American Airlines colours on the aircraft. Dont know if they have at seat IFE or not, a bit of googling might reveal the answer.

FR have started to load Summer 16 flights, probably a little early for any announcements or major schedule changes though.

Ryanair have some summer schedule loaded, FUE, FAO and AGP seems to be starting again on the 17th of March.

AGP is on an AGP aircraft this year, is this a good sign?

They have their pick of French regional airports to start flying to. Look at all the inbound charters over the summer from France.

Would love Girona to come back -that used be 6pw years ago.
