I did my test yesterday 😊 I'm a bit irregular but going from LMP I'll be due the 2nd, this is my second, my little man is 19 months so I'm not so secretly hoping for a girl this time around...I want the millionaires family!haha

We'd both be delighted with a boy ourselves, just to know that we have one of each, but at the same time I'd love a likkle sister for her with their being such a small gap!

I know, I've never really thought of having 2 boys, I hate being outnumbered in the house!ha
Although my boy is really easy going and was a very easy baby so if this little one was to follow that I wouldn't mind in the slightest!

Any symptoms yet? All I've had is terrible stomach cramps (and gas :o ) and a very sore/tender back.

Positive test yesterday, sitting in the doctors waiting room now :-) think I'll be around the 5 December! First timer

Still no symptoms at all apart from mild cramps every now and again! I'm quite tired as well but that comes with the territory of looking after an 8 month old!

December 2014 mother here! Time sure does fly :) Some of you are probably worried about having a Christmas baby but it was so nice being home with a new baby under a sparkling Christmas tree! Ah, getting nostalgic already :p Hope you all enjoy happy and healthy pregnancies x

    Hi All,

My partner and I are expecting our first. I am about 5 and a bit weeks pregnant so far. I did three pregnancy tests to confirm:) I have also been to the doctors who has pretty much said if I have missed my period and got a positive pregnancy test then im pregnant.

I'm having very little in the way of symptoms. IM just wondering is this normal?? Im starting to get a bit anxious and just wondering should I be feeling different by now?

I'm 5 weeks today with no symptoms at all, and didn't start having symptoms with my first until 8 weeks! The pregnancy hormone in your body gradually gets higher. Some people have a low tolerance for it, meaning they start to display symptoms and feel sick much sooner than those of us with a high tolerance. The only thing I've noticed is I'm running to the toilet maybe twice more in the day and I'm ready for bed a bit earlier. But nothing catastrophic like weeing every 10 minutes and dozing off in my cereal bowl!

Not at all, I was exactly like you with my little girl, and that was only 2 years ago! To be honest, you probably won't notice anything really obvious for a few weeks, the second time you'll recognise more of them ;)

@lul321 don't be worrying I am 21 weeks no and never really had any symptoms. Found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks and couldn't believe it as no sickness or anything (periods had been irregular anyway)
Only thing I noticed like shasha,a bit later on was peeing more and being tired .suppose I'm one of the lucky ones not to get morning sickness or sore boobs

Hows everyone feeling? Still no symptoms for me aside from tiredness! Scan is in 4 weeks and I am so excited to make it real!

Im due in December too. This is my first and I haven't any symptoms apart from some mild cramps. My Dr is sending me for an early scan this week, due to the cramps, so hope everything will be ok - Im so so nervous. And with the nerves, I have no idea how I'm going to be able to not pee myself with a full bladder :p

One thing I have noticed is that my stomach is so bloated. Is anyone else experiencing that-I look a lot further along than I am. Kinda worries me about how big I might get :(

The bloating passes :o I remember it with my first, and I'm at that stage now! It is rather uncomfortable, and since I still have some extra weight on from my last pregnancy, when I bloat I can look full-term! :D
I wouldn't worry though, it's no indication of how big you will get - that's your body, your diet and your baby :o

I still remember how nervous I was about everything last time around! I had a serious meltdown in the waiting room before my first scan because I had nightmares the night before that she wouldn't have a face! :o
Bit more chilled this time around!

Got a positive result today and pregnancy calculator giving me a due date of Dec 26th! Only symptoms so far bigger, sore boobs. Not sure when to make a doctor's appointment, should I wait a while to do it straight away? Don't know what to do with myself now! Congrats to all by the way!

I made an appointment with my GP straight away with my first, just to have the pregnancy confirmed. This time I just rang my hospital direct to book myself in :D

Symptoms are FLYING out now! Almost 8 weeks, severe exhaustion, absolutely everything must have cheese on it, I've totally gone off chocolate and the smell of bleach and chlorine makes me gag. No sickness but a lot of nausea and I've started getting bad heartburn and bloat!

    How is everybody doing since?

9 weeks on Tuesday. Lot of nausea that can only be fixed by savoury snacks like crisps and cheese. Very, very, very short emotional fuse and find myself bursting into tears at the silliest of things and sometimes for no reason at all!!

Glad to see I'm not the only "crazy" one :p
Can't believe I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow - 14 days until the scan and I am getting soooo nervous! I forgot about this part of pregnancy where you can't feel the baby and sometimes I wonder if there really is one in there at all! :o
I've a good bit of weight still on from Abigail, so if I so much as swallow a cup of tea, I look really pregnant. Have to wear really, really loose tops when going out to the shops now because one or two people have asked me and it's hard to lie!

For the record, although I do have weight on, it's only a pouch at the bottom, I didn't have a beer belly like this 9 weeks ago! And apologies for my mother's filthy bathroom mirror!

Did you fill out a form for referral to your hospital? Because it is them that organises the scans, not the GP :) With my first, I went to the doctor late October and had my scan date at the start of December for early January (I was nearly 14 weeks pregnant). This time I skipped my GP and contacted my hospital directly. I got my scan date in the post a week after I phoned them!

I signed the forms but the gp sent them off, he said I'd get the date in post

That's what I did the first time, things moved a lot slower. You will get one eventually though. What hospital are you going with, people might be able to advise of their waiting times?
My doctor totally botched my referral - I asked for Cavan MLU, he laughed and told me it wasn't a real place and referred me to Cavan General. I ended up having to go to the MLU directly to get my booking appointment!

I've no experience with Sligo, but an older post on Boards here suggests that Sligo only offer one scan, and it's at 20 weeks, so if that's still the case, you probably won't get an appointment for ages yet.

The doctor told me 12 weeks, I.e 3 weeks time,
I think the 20 week scan is in sligo but the earlier scan s are in the ante natal clinics (not sure if that's the correct term) in the district hospitals, I.e. Ballyshannon ,carrick on shannon

booked online with holles street today so hopefully get a letter in next week or so. Going to book an early scan with Merrion fetal health as I think holles street don't scan till well after 12 weeks. will get a private one for about 10-12 weeks as just want reassurance that all is well as its my first!

I'd love to get one as well, just for reassurance, but we just can't afford it. After this scan in two weeks, I don't get another until 32-33 weeks so we're budgeting for a scan around 25 weeks to break up the gap!

only two weeks to your first one though, so not long to wait! waiting another four to five weeks feels like an eternity at this point! 😅

I feel ya, was almost 14 weeks when I got my first scan. I had worked myself into such a tizzy that I had an episode in the waiting room, convinced the baby was dead/was missing a head/only had one arm etc. If we had the money at our disposal, I'd be going for a private scan the second I could be assured of a heartbeat! :o

Definitely no scanning equipment in Carrick ok Shannon. The booking appointment is in the district hospitals but no scan. Sligo only do 12 week scans if there is an issue. Otherwise it's the anomaly scan at 20 weeks only.

Congrats, been a long time coming for you! :) I had bad cramping with both my pregnancies, have a retroverted uterus so it has to bend when I get pregnant, ouch!

Ouch indeed really does sound painful. Had been told last yr from doctors I'd stopped ovulating so I lost about 50lbs in the past yr and regular exercise & it seemed to have done the trick :)

I lost it slowly, used my fitness pal & walked 3/4 times a week though haven't really been able to eat the past two wks with my morning sickness. Noticed today I'm starting to show already. Is this normal on a third pregnancy? Didn't really show on either daughter til 5 months.

No idea, its only my second. Didn't start showing with first until about 5 months too. I'm suffering a lot of bloat this time much earlier than before (see my earlier pic at just 9 weeks), but I'm definitely feeling fuller down there!

    How's everyone getting on?
10.5 weeks now and my scan is Monday. Hopelessly terrified that they're going to give me bad news (I've been having dreams that there was just no baby and I got diagnosed with a phantom pregnancy!!) for some weird reason.
Totally convinced I've felt movement at this point (always read conflicting evidence on this) and certainly was sure I got a bit of movement yesterday. As a sufferer of IBS and trapped wind, I'm no stranger to the sensation, so I absolutely know whatever it was was not wind, but I wouldn't rule out a uterine twitch. Still, it would be nice to think it was a little one - I felt my first move from 13 weeks and everyone insisted I couldn't, until I was able to prove it with the ultrasound :D

    I. Look. Massive! Weighed myself this morning and I'm actually 1lb lighter than last week, but I look about 4 sizes bigger. All my bottoms are unwearable because of the size of my stomach, and I have to wear baggy clothes if I'm going out. Got asked by two people today if I was pregnant again, and two people I'm very friendly with at that - was miserable telling them I wasn't only for me to be announcing I am on Monday!

Symptom wise my two main complaints are fatigue and hunger. Last time around I had no commitments and could literally nap at will. This time around, I can barely nap at all, and I'm so tired that I make horrific ad stupid mistakes day-to-day! Despite three good and healthy meals per day (and plenty of fruit and veg), I am getting so hungry between meals that I get the shakes and cold sweats, like I haven't eaten in days! It comes in waves, sometimes mere minutes after a meal, and I can have anything from one to ten bouts of it before I have another meal! My killer craving is soft boiled eggs with melted cheese on it. And if I don't eat it, I start to get nauseous (and since I have a deathly fear of vomiting, I tend to roll with the craving :pac: ). Spoke with my doctor about it and he was very confident that I could have soft boiled eggs once the whites were fully set and they were store-bought and not free range from home or a local farm etc. Also had a relatively strong craving for Heineken. Given I don't actually drink, it's pretty odd, but the smell makes my mouth water! Last time I was constantly after Smirnoff Ice, but I figured out after a few weeks it was actually lemon that did the trick!

So, after a serious rambling, how is everyone else doing?

Hi hun hope the scan goes well for you. I've felt some movement too last night. My morning sickness has mostly gone as long as i stick to toast which I've been living off the last few wks but its better than the alternative. Had a scan last wk due to light bleeding & all is good. am 11 weeks now tuesday & all symptoms bar the breast soreness has eased thank god.
No weight gain or cravings yet but have a very small bump :P
