Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

HMV are having a recruitment evening for temporary positions on Tuesday 28th September at 6:30 pm. The ad didn't state whether they were FT or PT hours. It did state that you needed an interest in music, film, games or technology & to bring an up to date CV with you.

Vibes and Scribes on Bridge st has a FT vacancy, ad states you must have an interest in books/reading and to drop in a CV to the front desk.

The last time I heard (from a friend that works there) that HMV were laying people off and cutting back hours?
    Strange.

Be wary of working for Argos, last year my friends worked there for christmas and they has them all on 4 hour shift only so as to not have to be paying the 15minute break due after 4 1/2 hours working.

Heads up for people applying for work:

    http://irishjobs.ie/
    http://www.monster.ie/
    http://www.recruitireland.com/
    http://www.jobs.ie/

All the above sites allow you to upload a CV and a cover note about yourself. Should increase chances of finding work tenfold for any applicant. I would reccomend a one page CV with specific interests and work experience for any particular job applied for.

A friend recently got a call for an interview from doing this. Best of luck everyone.

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a job networking morning in Cork where job seekers come together for a coffee and discuss how they are getting on and gain advise from other job seekers on leads that they may have that may be suited to someone with different qualifications?

    Hi fifi,
Not sure if there is anything like that organised but you could try the Centre for the unemployed on North Main St as they may run something similar.
