    I am July 2016.

One of my closest friends got married on new years eve and it was such a fantastic wedding, so I am in serious wedding mode now.

Have the venue, church, band and photographer booked. In the process of dress shopping and I think I have decided on the bridesmaids ones too :)

I have actually fallen in love with the first dress I tried on too but I have another appointment next Saturday, want to keep my options open.

Congrats everyone .....We are getting married June 2016!!! Really excited now I can say I'm getting married next year !! Not even thinking about dresses till the summer need to go on a health kick first

Congrats everyone!! We're getting hitched November 2016:) Already engaged a year but had a baby in August so only started any orgainising in the last couple months!

So far we have the Church, venue, photographer, my dress - total accident, went to a sample sale for the craic & got a fab dress for 1/2 price, bridemaids dresses - 1/2 price from Debamhams online in the sales, just need the girls to try on but they are gorgeous, well worth a look, the one I went for aren't on the site anymore so must have sold out, also have made my own foam flower/brooch bouquets. Thought I had the band picked, but went to see them again yesterday with my fiancé & werent as good as I had remembered, wasn't feeling well though so could have been me!

Kinda want to have as much as possible organised before I go back to work so don't let the above stress anyone out!!

Anyone doing a bit of DIY for their day?

  • Registered Users Posts: 64 ✭✭Amoureux

Hmmm a lot of people seem to have the photographer booked already, how much in advance should I be booking them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 83 ✭✭noanoa

The photographer was one of the first things I booked, I knew who I wanted so didnt want to miss out on him.

Have the venue, Photographer, videographer, church singer, reception music, band, hair and makeup booked.

Might do some DIY myself but ill see. Have everyone collecting jars for me at the moment, what I picture in my head might not look so good when I'm done! :)

Congrats girls :) lovely to see this thread and now we can say we are getting married next year.

So far we have church, hotel, flowers, band, photographer. We've picked the ceremony music but just have to pay the deposit. I've looked at a few dresses but I feel it's too early for me. The fear that I'll change my mind. Plus I think I'll buy it online.

I'm going to get my invites from eBay I think. I nearly died ag the prices from here.

    Where is everyone getting married?

  • Registered Users Posts: 358 ✭✭carleigh

Congrats everyone! We got engaged in November and provisionally booked our venue a couple of days before Christmas, paying the deposit in the next fortnight. We also booked the church last weekend. Our wedding date is November 2016 so not planning on doing much for the foreseeable future, other than try to save as much as we can :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭michellie

Ooh there's loads of us :):)

I booked the photographer and band straight away. The lady who I wanted to book for cakes put up a fantastic deal on Facebook the other day so I'm Gona meet her and pay a deposit and get that out of the way too.

Have another appointment for the dress on Saturday in Jeutonic in Kilkenny:)

We are March 2016. Booked humanist minister, venue, photographer and band. The rest can wait. I refuse to stress out. Quite a bit of DIY planned but not too worried about that.

Hes really involved and great for helping me with decisions. I tend to fill pinterest boards and then look through it again and delete what I dont like a month later.

happy to wait til easter for dress shopping, loads of time

Congrats everyone! Have just booked venue for April 2016!! :-) Now the church and band are my first priority!

Anyone any advice on how to go about picking band, so many out there and don't really have any recommendations?!

I recommend Venus to Mars, they a bit different but do all sorts. Also moonlight are pretty good

    Hi milly,

They were so nice and helpful, I had been to Eden manor in Enniscorthy the previous week which was also fab and tried on every style of dress so I knew what suited and what I was looking for.

I'm so excited its ordered. I ordered my daughter's flower girl dress on etsy this week :)

    Hi everyone,

Joining this thread in the hope that we will get married next year even though we've nothing organised so far as we just got engaged last weekend!

I'm a very organised person usually and constantly have lists for everything but I am seriously clueless about organising a wedding, so any help and tips are appreciated!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 598 ✭✭✭westernlass

I must gave got lucky. We had our first choice available for everything booking before Xmas. I got my dress this week. Way earlier than planned but I love it.

    Hi all,

We got engaged last month and are getting married at the end of August 2016. We unexpectedly fell in love with the first venue we saw, then franticly booked in some viewings at other places just to be sure.

We've the photographer booked as we love taking photos ourselves so this was a real priority for us. We've just started looking at bands, though as we're London-based this might take us a bit longer to sort by the time we've made it over for showcases etc.

I wasn't planning on looking at dresses for a while yet, but my bridesmaids are dying to know what they'll be wearing and tbh I feel like I can't get my head around that until Ive an idea of what I'll be in so may start sooner. The only thing worrying me is that I haven't managed to talk to the local priest yet, in the end I wrote him a letter so fingers crossed I'll hear something from him soon!

    Hi everyone,

Need some inspiration for venues please!

We're planning a small wedding 60-70 and a lot of hotels only have minimum 100 guests. We visited a place at the weekend which was fab but quite pricy so looking for other suggestions please, preferably in Dublin or max 1 hour drive from airport as most guests will be travelling over so don't want them trekking for 3 hours!

Starting to get piddled off with the while process now tbh which is annoying me as I know it should be an exciting time for us!

Any help or suggestions appreciated, although we have already ruled out the Anglers Rest due to lack of accomodation on site.

    TIA!

We looked at Bellinteer hosue but at 120 pp we decided against it!

Typo starts at 105 pp on a Friday - cheaper midweek but still

    Hi everyone again,

Well things are progressing here thankfully we have finally found a venue and a Humanist celebrant so we're sorted with the big things for next April. The list of smaller things seems to be growing daily though, people can be so helpful with their opinions of what we should/shouldn't do 😳

Which Humanist did you get if you don't mind me asking? I have contacted 6 of them today, 2 replied saying they weren't available on our date and one just asked had we chosen a venue and haven't heard back since.

Hi Andreac, we have booked Emma Sides for our ceremony. We contacted several others at the same time and three were unavailable. Because there are so few of them they seem to be booking up fast.

    Good luck with your search!
