Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No point in paying for any TV when you have these kinds of speeds. So many more options!

My upload speed seems to be back up to what it should be from the last few months when it was languishing around the 11mbps mark

Just got our Sky Fibre in a few days ago, was initially at 50mbps but since today has peaked to this ( was told it could take a few days before it gets stable )

Approx 200 meters from the cabinet

    Eircom vdsl installed today....

    4211384450.png

Line syncing at 51Mbps/20Mbps but modem gives attainable rate of 99.9/33.2 so there's a bit more to squeeze out of it.

Was getting very low speeds for my 240mbp pack with UPC. so i purchased the Belkin AC1800 Dual band wireless router (down from £180 stg to £40stg on amazon.co.uk) ... 2.4 for some devices, 5ghz for ipad air, iphone 6, HTC One M7 all hitting 145-160mbp will hook up the MAc Book Pro and see what that hits but the wired desktop really went mad from 140mbp to 245... good stuff now

Belkin was up and running in less than 5 mins including a firmware upgrade... just put the Cisco 3925 into Bridge mode and connected the Belkin, job done.
Just remember to add a password to the admin panel.

Only thing i will add to this is the "Intellispeed" feature or QoS... I turned it on and input the speeds and it killed my download speed so i just turned it of again.

only live for 15 hours so far, but I am pleasantly surprised at the speeds I'm getting, the cabinet is a reasonable distance away, (about 350 Mtrs as the crow flies, but probably nearer 400 with the twists in the road and internal wiring here) and the copper has been there for nearly 25 years, and out of use for the last 5, we've just moved from Imagine WiMax to Imagine Fibre, apart from a glitch with the provisioning system at Imagine's end, it was relatively painless, and the increase in speeds is very welcome, especially on the upload side of things,

It will be interesting to see how it settles over the next while, but for now, I'm not going to complain. I certainly didn't expect to see pings this low, there's clearly not a lot to worry about on the copper side of things.

Imagine are using a Huawei router, which I have no experience of, the biggest hassle was getting in to it to change the DHCP settings to allow my fixed IP printers to work and not cause problems, and to allow my second WiFi unit to be excluded as well, so far it all appears to be stable.

The Smartphone is getting about 40 down and 12 up, which is also welcome, and that's on WiFi, using a TP Link router that's slaved with the Huawei.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

658C, and I don't know if they have changed anything or not, the user log in is the standard Huawei (or it was till I changed it:))

Not sure if it needs a few days to settle, they reckoned that it could get between 70 and 90, which seems high for the distance the cable runs from the cabinet, but hey, anything's better than .5 upload, which is what was happening with WiMax, and 50 to 60 down is also a big help.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Surely piggy backing someone else's network is in breach of the terms and conditions signed by the person who's name is on the bill.

Brand new Eircom connection in the town of Patrickswell, co. Limerick. The house had a very old phone line that was not used for a number of years, so the helpful Eircom engineer actually replaced the wire from the pole to the house.

No fibre in Patrickswell yet, but I think NGB is here.

It was a wee bit slower on the default server, I changed to the Dublin one because it's run by Eircom.

    EDIT: default server, same connection:

I have an issue with Eircom fibre where the connection just drops for 30 or 40 seconds. It could happen up to 3 or 4 times an hour some days. Anyone have any idea what could be causing it?
