Fair point. I suspect what was going on is, because none of the Slavic languages have a definite article, Ivana found it difficult to understand/internalise the conventions of English regarding when the article is used and when it isn't.

Indeed. Chinese also doesn't have articles, and if your native language doesn't have them it can be very difficult to understand how and when to use them.

Pence is unelectable in his own name, that's the whole point. The evangelicals couldn't get even one semi-credible candidate for president to stand in the primaries.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

That was the real attraction of Trump for you, wasn't it? That you've got a fellow mouth-breathing, brain-dead creationist who's a heartbeat away from the most powerful position in the world.

Gotcha. Don't want to sound out of touch but is it supposed to be funny/edgy/ironic or what? All I can see is some anon poster swearing quite a lot, presumably about other people.

4chan and Reddit are like the dark web as far as I am concerned, assuming its true its one of the rioters in DC complaining that the Police were taking a more serious line with their activities and he seems annoyed about this.
    What, like God?

eh that would be a frightening prospect :pac:

Right, because an antifa would open up and confess their frustrations and fears to a place which is a haven for literal fascists - or as they prefer to be called nowadays, the "alt-right".

The POTUS and VP are a good team ... very, very special, very beautiful ... and, of course, great!!! :D.

I'm 'staying schtum' about the rest of your post ... because I have agreed with Robin to not use the 'C' word on the A & A.:D

I see that President Trump has nominated the brilliant Dr Ben Carson as Housing Secretary.

“We appreciate Dr Carson’s willingness to take on such a challenging task at an agency that is in need of reform to better serve all Americans,” Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate majority leader, said in a statement. “I’m confident his life-long career of selfless service will be a positive addition to the incoming administration.”

A brilliant neurosurgeon, but decidedly strange, otherwise. He certainly fits in with the current administration.

One hardly needs to add that Carson is a creationist:

Robin, your linked article has the following info on Dr Carson:-
"Dr. Ben Carson, 64, was educated at Yale University and the University of Michigan. He was the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and was also a professor of oncology and pediatrics.

In 2004, Carson served on the President’s Council on Bioethics and in 2008 he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In 2010, Dr. Carson was elected into the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine, considered one of the most prestigious honors in medicine."

He would have made an excellent Health Secretary as well ... but the equally eminent, Dr Tom Price, has been nominated for that job.

DJT has appointed fundamentalist preacher, creationist and owner of his own fake universities and schools Jerry Falwell Junior - as head of a "taskforce" to reform higher education.

Here's an example of what Falwell teaches in his own outlets:

Why is everyone so shocked that a politician is doing everything that he promised, before he was elected?:)

Because there's a difference between being shocked and being surprised.

Yes, one is a response to the other ... people are shocked by surprises.

... so why are people so surprised at a politician doing everything that he promised, before he was elected?:)

Man of his word. And you always knew where you stood with Adolf. Dealt with the threat of religious fundamentalists firmly. Some said a little harshly, but were there any attacks by suicide rabbis after the war?

... an America that led a critical role in defeating Adolph ... and executing his murderous henchmen.
