    Congrats Play Bunny!

Staticdoor71 I feel your pain. I came home from work today, my little girl was really tired & crying her eyes out, my husbands away so I was home alone with no help, shattered tired, then I opened my post to find home insurance has jumped up by €400 & ended up crying for 10 mins. Blooming hormones gone mad altogether!!

Neyite that's just you being lazy :D lol jk, nah I'd say its the start of the hormones kicking in and tiring you out that bit more.
That's lovely that your other half is so excited that he told someone else, obviously a very chuffed dad to be :)

Still not a jot of symptoms, but staying positive about it. I am getting tired a bit more easily, so I guess thats a symptom? or am I just a lazy git? :P. Feeling a bit blue for no reason, so maybe a bit hormental too?

OH caved and told a mate last night, so now we have each told one person. I am so proud of myself - I didnt think I would be so good at keeping stchum.

Early private scan on 28th. Will be 7w5days then. Exactly 2 weeks from now we will have gotten to see whos on board. As long as I see one strong heartbeat I will be over the moon.

    How is everyone here?

haha i did the same last nite, but i had to as her 3oth is nxt week and i had to explain the not drinking her do is in dub and im in kildare so will be driving..

cap-was it ur home insurance or car? i heard they are putting a 2per cent levy on insurance's now :( ffs, home ins up nxt may, car ins dec, typical! if its any consolation i reckon my dd is going through the terrible 2's shes not really napping that great during the day and come evening she doesnt want to go to bed she squeals but im leaving her to it not giving in, dont want her thinking i will come running its been a hard few days with her as i dont knwo whats up with her, she has all her teeth so not sure if its a growth spurt as shes tall for her age...

I capped off my hormental day yesterday by blubbing to 'Marley and me', swore I wouldn't but hormones had other plans :o

Play bunny its my house insurance, we had a claim after a burst pipe during the snow last year. I tried a few quotes elsewhere but no joy! So I've written to them to adjust down the rebuild/contents cover & to remove some of the unnecessary stuff from the policy & increase my excess so fingers crossed that'll reduce it to a more reasonable price!

Fingers crossed your little girl will settle with her sleep soon. I've the same here, she's ended up in our bed more often than her own these days. Not a habit I really want to encourage when I have a big belly taking over the bed:D

Neyite that's brill about having your scan so soon, only 13 days away :D brill stuff!!! I've my first consultant appointment the 26th. Such a contrast, I'll be 10 weeks then. With my daughter due to my letters getting 'lost' in the hospital I was nearly 20 weeks before I was seen then!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 362 ✭✭Play Bunny

god thats a desperate price, i think all the home insurance will be going up tbh, dd had another bad day here no sleep at all today, screamed going to bed tonite, ugr..not what i need at the mo.

Thats not hormones, just the saddest film ever! Non hormonal me would cry at it, and I'm not even a massive dog person.:p

Today I am 6+2. No nausea or anything, but sleeping for Ireland. Now normally I'm pretty good in bed anyway -I could sleep for days ;)- but on Friday night I went to bed at 8.30 (havent done that since I was about 9) woke up at 12.30, stayed up until 3am, then back to bed until midday . Even the OH was impressed at that epic slothfulness. Then when I do get up I dont want to do a thing.

He reckons that my boobs are deffo bigger, and the shape of my tum is a bit more rounded than normal, but that is probably bloat. Really miss beer, though I could have had a fridge full of it and not have one from one end of the week to the next, but find that I keep sniffing his beer when he opens one and it smells lovely. Must get some alcohol free ones.
I'm a lot more hungry and thirsty too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 110 ✭✭Shuwaaah

Wish I was hungry, I've lost 3/4 of a stone in the last ten days. Normally I wouldn't be complaining about the weight loss but a diet solely consisting of loop the loops and 7up does not a healthy pregnancy make!!!

Has anyone ever tried those C-band things. and do they work?

i think i may have bad news, this morning when i was going to the toilet i noticed like a mucas with some blood running through it v.light tho, the next toilet trip nothing, then again more :(a little darker but nothing amazing... so went out and bought another clear blue test and it said not pregnant, so not sure what to think as i havent passed a cloth, and ive had nothing again after this time ...going to the toilet on the tissue, im also dying with a cold and its not helping matters, personally i dont think its looking good, mam had a m/c at 3mths and had to get a d&c done so im in limbo i just have to wati and see but i dont think it looks positive, there is no staining on my knickers (yet, ive no cramps) i just feel tired and worn out with this cold...boobs still sore-ish...

Sorry to hear that playbunny, what are you going to do, head to the doc tomorrow? It could be fine, i wouldn't worry about the clearblue test, take it easy and get to the doc as soon as you can. I've my fingers crossed for you, can't imagine how you're feeling right now.

  • Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,947 Mod ✭✭✭✭Neyite

Playbunny, maybe its just a dodgy test? It should still have registered a positive until your womb was fully cleared. Thats how women who have a m/c have to keep testing with HPT until it reads negative. Then they know all the tissue is gone, and they dont need D&C.

Since there is very little blood and no cramping, it might still be ok just a dodgy test. Maybe a blood test in your GP's office can test your HCG levels and see if they are reading ok?

Playbunny, you poor thing you must be so stressed :(
The only thing I would say is without serious bleeding I don't think a test would received a definite negative.

Not sure if I'm making sense, but when I had a miscarriage I had to test a week after I had the miscarriage to ensure everything 'had passed'.
It takes a few days for the pregnancy hormones to go down to a zero again.
Are you having any cramps? Mucus blood can be implantation bleed, cervical erosion, etc there's quite a lot of things that cause bleeding in early pregnancy.

Ring your local maternity hospital and they'll be able to advise you, they may bring you in and examine you.

If it gives you any peace of mind, I had light bleeding for a few days when I was 9 weeks pregnant with my daughter (went on to have perfectly healthy pregnancy). My friend bled on and off throughout her entire pregnancy & also had a healthy baby.

Also, if you had sex last night/recently, that can cause minor bleeding.

I hope you're ok, my heart goes out to you, the not knowing is awful x

    Take care of yourself x

Playbunny, unless you have severe or constant cramps coupled with heavy bleeding I wouldn't give up just yet x
Would you not ring the maternity hospital just for peace of mind? I would say go to your GP but in my experience I found the hospital a lot better as the midwives are so experienced in this type of thing.

I'd to go in twice with bleeding during the one week, they weren't phased at all, it really is such a common thing.

I think the reason you got the negative on the clearblue is because you tested with a sample from so late in the day.
Chances are you were urinating more out of nerves so by the time you tested the HCG pregnancy hormone was very diluted.
When I went to my gp at 5 weeks, I had got a strong positive on the clearblue/first response almost immediately. However because I used mid morning urine the line on the gp's one was very faint.

I know easier said than done, but please don't stress, its not good for you or baba.
Go to the hospital/your gp tomorrow or you'll have yourself driven demented.

Sorry for the tmi, but when I had the miscarriage it wasn't just a little bit of blood, it was soaking a sanitary towel and clots; whereas when I was just spotting during my previous pregnancy, it was exactly how you described, just when I wiped.
If it was a chemical pregnancy, you would still have heavy bleeding, not just when you wipe.

If worst comes to worst, you might be glad that you told your family as they'll be there to support you x but please don't give up yet.

With me it went on for about a week. That said the worst of it was in the first 3 days. I was in hospital overnight on a drip which I think may have helped things progress that bit faster.

I found I wasn't in too much pain in the first day or two but was in discomfort from day 3 on (like a v bad period), so might be no harm having a few nurofen or similar on standby.

Back from the hols ladies and unfortunately after looking forward to them for a long long time they were ruined by constant sickness that kicked in 3days into the holiday-I wasnt actually getting sick but constant nausea, horrible. only felt a bit better after eating something but felt crap and still do!! My poor husband had to listen to my constant moaning! I'm glad to be back home though-im just catching up on how you are all getting on. Back to work tomorrow and hoping to feel better before they notice something!

When did the nausea subside for the rest of you ladies?
Im also an emotional mess, feel like crying all the time!!

I'm also sorry to hear your news PlayBunny.xx

Welcome Back Saggycaggy, did you have a nice time??

Im totally with you on the emotional mess... Im twelve weeks today and only starting to semi level out now with the emotional disaster area :D

Also, my sickness is easing (please god dont let this jinx it).. not been physically sick yet this week... so keep everything crossssssssed ;)

Hi girls can I join? Very early here but got a faint positive last night. So going by LMP I'm due 24th may. This will be number 5 for me & a bit of a shock as my ds4 is only 8 months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭caprilicious

    Congrats & welcome Tinkerbell :)

Saggycaggy, welcome back from your hols. That's rotten that you were so sick while you were away :( I'm 9+ weeks at the mo & whereas the nausea isn't quite as bad (still there, just not as noticeable) - the tiredness is getting much worse!
I had a good nights sleep last night but by about 11am in work this morning I was only fit for bed again! It made for a very very long day!

Staticdoor, that's brill that your sickness is easing, it sounded like you had a really rough few weeks of it :(

The only thing I'm currently stressing about is there's an outbreak of chicken pox in the nursery my daughter attends. I'm praying she doesn't catch it/share it with me!

Hi girls. Very tired and dizzy today. I really want to just go home. I have my six month review with work at 2pm:eek: It know it will be grand but I'm just so tired that I'd love to give it a miss. I'm in the company a few years so maternity leave will be grand but my boss can be a bit fickle when it comes to reviews so I'll feel better when it's all sorted.

Dreading telling work I'm pregant but can't wait to tell at the same time:)

    Hurry up 5pm!!

Hi all, havent got on in a while laptop was playing up. Sorry to hear you were so sick on your hols saggycaggy.
Cant wait to catch up with you staticdoor and have the sickness ease. Thought it had eased last week, had one good day but came back with a vengence. Cant move without heaving which is causing alot of abdominal pain. (not your ordinary cramps) Havent managed to go to work in over 2 weeks so hoping this eases soon.
10 weeks on sat so nearly there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭caprilicious

Custard cream, I hope your review went well today :) I know what you mean about roll on home time.
I don't normally watch the clock in work (too busy usually!) but I find I'm so feckin tired that when I get back from work it feels like I've 20 hours left to go instead of 3!

Succee, sorry to hear you're so poorly :( that has to be hard going being off work so long too.
I really hope it eases off for you (very!) soon :)

Edit to add: just copped we're the same dates too, I'm 10 weeks Saturday :) I'm also praying that all this tiredness/sickness eases off in a fortnight at the 12 week mark!

Hi all. Just back from the maternity hospital as I was having some bleeding ( I'm 6 weeks) and thankfully they could see the heartbeat, bleeding seems to be easing off so hopefully it was an isolated episode. I have a repeat scan in too weeks, fingers and toes crossed! Has anyone experienced this? It's terrifying! Sorry for gatecrashing girls!!!! X

Can I hop on board too?

Due early May with no 4.

Bit of a surprise but a welcome one at that. Have had a scan at epu and am huge already but trying to keep it quiet another little bit if I can.

Congrats and Welcome AnneOther, I'm early May too!! Starting to feel a wee bit better but it comes in waves, im constantly snacking so that is definately helping me. I needed something to settle my tummy so I bought CocoPops for the first time in years and I had about 6 bowls of them during the weekend-they're will come a time soon when I probably won't be able to look at them though!!

I'm also learning to drive before this Baby 2 comes along so I went for a long driving lesson with my hubbie yest-it was nervewracking but I have to keep at it. I found myself very isolated and lonely on my first maternity leave and im determined not to let that happen again so fingers crossed!

Hope you are all keeping well.x

    7W 3d...

Still no sickness, but get a little tired easier. Otherwise, no symptoms, my only clue is a couple of missed periods and several positive pregnancy tests.

Early private scan on Wednesday so all will be revealed then! I have stopped worrying that no symptoms = somethings wrong, but still I guess in early pregnancy we are all cautiously excited, as we know the risks.

I spent the entire weekend with my mother and sister (only sis knows about the pregnancy) and my mother failed to notice that I was the only one not drinking booze, tea or coffee, or eating pavlova, shellfish, soft cheeses, or pate. It seems that everything that was on offer I had to decline and she still didnt cop! Bless!

  • Registered Users Posts: 634 ✭✭✭staticdoor71

God you did well to avoid the questions Neyite. Before I told my family, my sister copped on the first time i went to her house and didn't smoke.. even with my "ive a cold" lies :D

Im 12+5 today and ive my first hospital appointment tomorrow.. Im totally nervous and excited about it.. but more nervous, cuz im afraid to be too excited if you get me? Since the only real confirmation i have was wee on a stick 7 weeks ago... Ill be so happy to get the appointment over and done with and finally allow myself to get excited about being "knocked up" (as my OH has started to call it)

But one thing ive noticed, just since yesterday, is im weeing way more than usual, i thought it was supposed to lessen the further into pregnancy you go?
And even tho I feel like im bursting I go for a wee, then ten mins later i feel like I need to go again!!! Its driving me up the walls!! FOUR times last night i got up for wee's, that in normal everyday life wouldnt even qualify as wee's  t'is crazy, but i guess its all good signs :D

Will be back tomorrow, hopefully beeming from ear to ear wooohoooo :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭caprilicious

Neyite, so exciting having your scan this week! I hope all goes well :)
Hopefully you're one of lucky people that doesn't get morning sickness! the tiredness sounds like a good sign too.
Sounds like you did very well to hide it from your mum this weekend!

Staticdoor71, brill that you're having your first appointment too this week! hope it goes well. I'm the same with the wee's. Thankfully not so much at night but quite a lot during the day!

Saggycaggy, that's gas with the cocoa pops. I'm still off a lot of food but go through phases for a day or two when one food item will be ok & I stick to that for a day or two (ranchero crisps anyone? :) ) then go off that food altogether!
Can't wait for my appetite to get back to normal.

Welcome on board Anne Other :)

Well I had an utterly wasted hospital appointment today.
Went in this afternoon excited/nervous about my first consultant appt, waited an hour to be seen to only to be told that me being there was a mistake, that my first Ante Natal appt. would be in another 8 weeks :mad::mad:

My GP had written to the hospital months and months ago for an appointment with the gynae as I was ttc for some time without success.
I did receive an appointment for this for December which my GP asked me not to cancel (just in case :().
The Doctor I spoke to today reckons that the appointment today was my gynae appt being brought forward.
I wouldn't mind, but I'm assuming when you attend a hospital that ALL your records are kept in the one file?
That being the case, the last page written in should have shown that I attended 2 weeks prior in the early pregnancy unit for a scan?
If they had even checked my blood pressure/used the doppler to check baby I mightn't have felt so hard done by! but just to be sent off as I was had me peeved!

Hi all, Neyite i hope your scan goes ok tomorrow. as cap said maybe your just one of the lucky few not to have morning/afternoon/evening sickness.
Staticdoor good luck with your scan also. I'm also having that wee problem up twice most nights.

Im only 10+3 and as i said before this is my first pregnancy. but lately been thinking maybe i'm having twins.
Ok so had thought it before due to severe sickness but then my o/h sister said it. Then i had a dream that the doc said it when i was having my scan.
Thought maybe the dream was because his sis had said it.
But then had another dream that i got up in the middle of the night to wee and went into the spare room (soon to be nursery) and there were 2 cots.
I then woke up and had to go in to check.
I dont have my scan for 3 more weeks. has any one else had weird dreams or feelings. Also i am already starting to show, people that know have even mentioned my bump being visable already and my trousers are pretty tight.
    Dont know what to think.

Gonna double post – here and in the ttc forum!

Had my early scan this morning.
What an emotional morning! I had been doing my best not to be thinking too negatively or positively – on one hand I was scared that I have no symptoms and thought that I might have had a missed miscarriage, on the other I was thrilled to be finally pregnant, even if it had been for a little while, all the time trying not to stress either way. So you can imagine my head has been a right muddle for the last few weeks.

This morning’s scan was purely to check for a heartbeat and multiples and check the dating, however at this stage dates can obviously be here or there slightly. So the nurse explained that she would firstly check the heartbeat (and therefore put us at ease) then check the rest. It was a vaginal scan so no need for the full bladder, thank god

So, within seconds, she located the sac and showed us the heartbeat, and I started to cry with pure relief. Baby is measuring my dates exactly at 7w4d. Then she located another heartbeat....TWINS!!! The second little one is measuring 7w1d, and his/her sac is much smaller, but the heartbeat was good and strong all the same. Big twin is 13.25mm and little twin is 10.55mm. Both ovaries showed the corpus luteum, so progesterone is not a concern. Since they have their own sacs, they are non identical.

We are overjoyed, shocked, delighted, terrified, relieved – pretty much every emotion is running through us at the moment. My OH is totally lost for words and was in awe of what we saw on the screen. Its early days still, and everything in Gods hands, but so far, he is doing a decent job of keeping my little family safe.

I got the referral for the GP to start the ball rolling on my maternity paperwork, and I also have to notify my endocrinologist due to the prolactin issue, and have another private scan in 2 weeks to check on them.

Staticdoor71, congrats on your scan today its brill!! so clear! Delighted you got on so well :)

Omg Neyite CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! massive massive congrats, I'm all teared up reading your news that's amazing!
You must be absolutely over the moon! that's fantastic news. Can't believe you haven't a tap of morning sickness either, bonus!

Brill that you have another scan so soon too, no doubt you'll be in shock and disbelief for a few days so it'll be a lovely reminder of how lucky you are seeing the second scan!

Thanks Ms2011, I think my main disappointment wasn't the waste of time in hospital the other day, it was not being given any reassurance that all is well! But so far so good, still constantly shattered tired & appetite poor so the hormones seem to be doing their job!
