Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you're in Dublin, you can pop into the Independent office on Talbot St and buy a copy of last Sunday's Sindo.

Alternatively, if you're not too easily embarrassed, you can try your local civic amenity centre which should have a skip specially for newspapers and magazines. It shouldn't take too much rooting to find a Sindo with intact voucher! :D

Might go dumpster dying down the back of the local Spar

Nah, no blurb to indicate another voucher next week on the Sunday World voucher anyway.

This could be the end of the short run. :(

Aldi have been awful quiet recently in this regard so we can only hope that they might be spurred into action this weekend!

I missed that, anyone has got a spare one by any chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

    Yes, take Coors light for example, it's 18€ for 20 bottles (330ml) at present (until June 1st), 3 boxes = 54€ less 10€ = 44€ for 60 bottles of Coors !! (0r €0.73 cent a bottle)

It's bad for you though l-(

Next Sunday May 31st. Sun World and Indo, if looking for spares from last Sun there is already a thread set up, take a look in BA for it.

Can you buy a few papers and use several vouchers in tesco? or is it linked to your clubcard?

I realise you might not be able to spend €100 in one go and expect to use 2 at once. But can I do 2 €50 shops during the next week if I get both papers tomorrow.

    Yea you can.

Split that €100 shop in half and do it at the same time-->get checkout person to stop at €50.

Though sometimes you'll hit on 1 that'll run it through at the same time, but that's rare.

Wait so how are these Lidl vouchers redeemable at Tesco also?

I want to get 2x24 cans of Budweiser which are €26 each in Tesco for tomorrow so I'd like to be clear.

go to the till and they will scan the cans, the checkout person will tell you that you owe them €52 for the two slabs, you then hand them the voucher from the Sunday World or the Sunday Independent and the checkout person will scan something they have behind the till that gives you the €10 off, so now you will be told you owe €42

I know isay ths every week, I get 2 vouchers, one from the in laws, I go to tesco, buy a 50 gift card at the customer service desk, and in the voucher, costs Only 40.

Then, I do my shop, make sure I have 50 euro spend, hand in the money off voucher, then pay with my tesco gift card.

If I don't have any shopping to do, I just buy the gift vouchers.

Its an eminently usable paper. I have an old, incontinent dog and need something to line her basket and doghouse. The rest of it can be used to light the fire.

Today - cool and windy scattered showers, heavy hail or thunder. 10 to 13 degrees.
Tonight - moderate to fresh south to southwest winds. 4 to 8 degrees
Monday - heavy falls of rain, strong to gale force southerly winds. 10 to 13 degrees.

just back from tesco, used 10 euro lidl voucher from last week off 50 euro of shopping, then used 10 euro dunnes voucher off next 50 euro of shopping, then used this weeks lidl voucher, 6 euro tesco voucher i had and coinstar voucher for 9 euro on last fifty euro great savings, 45 euro off 150 euro of shopping

You reaslise coinstar take the same hefty % if you take a shopping voucher or money.

There were threads before where people presumed they took the fee only if you converted the coins to notes. The way it was worded you could easily think if turned into shopping vouchers there would be no commission. -the logic/trick being people thinking "why would I take vouchers instead of perfectly good cash?" and so think since there is 2 options that there must be a difference. I nearly got caught myself and guessed tesco paid coinstar the commission if changed to vouchers, though I expected tesco to pay a much lower commission.

Since people are blindly throwing in coins they might not reaslise it, as most have no idea how many coins they had in the first place. So some might throw in €100, get a shopping voucher for €91, and not cop that commission was taken. One poster got a refund of the commission from coinstar.

it was 9 euro in 2 cents and 1 cents would have taken ages to count it out, i gladly pid the 9c in a euro fee. Any larger coins i bring to local shop and they are happy to get the change
