Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech perform a scene from "Downton Abbey" using good ol' American accents.

I wonder when this was filmed? Her fiancee died on the 13th. Can't imagine she was off in the US in the days leading up to it.

Still seems weird she was away. I suppose they have certain press obligations but you'd think they'd have let her off.

I don't care how predictable it was, I was not looking for anything else. It was glorious. It was a glorious period in our lives.

A very good send off. Some laughs. Definitely made for the people who stuck with the show through thick and very thin times. Sure it wasn't Fargo or Breaking Bad but it never intended to be - just daft fluffy nonsense.
If you are reading this and yet to watch on TV3 get some alcohol in first. Older family members can do the drugs of their choice.

Btw....this explains the Clara Bow reference.

Sneaky buggers showing that precise part of Edith's wedding where they ask if anyone objects. We were watching with bated breath full sure something bad was going to happen.

It was all fairly predictable and cheesy but that's what Downton has been for most of its run.

I'm off to write Return to Downton. Set in the 40's the focus is on George and the other kids. Now grown up George doesn't want to run the estate, he wants to join up and go to war. Meanwhile Sibby and Marigold (and Mary's new baby) are left running the estate as it is housing a boat load of kids who have been evacuated from the city because of air raids. Mary's youngest and Anna's are the will they/won't they of the piece.

Ooh, that's a good one. How did he hurt his leg? How did he come to get tangled up with that auld bitch Mrs. Bates? Lots of scope for adventure.

Mr Bates, aka Brendan Coyle, popped up as a baddie in the Xmas episode of Murdoch Mysteries.
