Well i'm still here. Our little minx decided she'd co-operate now and has returned to head down. We were late leaving for the hospital (usually get there about half hour before appointment) and one of the sonographers said to us they were sure i must have gone into labour myself. ha.

so back to the original plan of induction friday morning. Feel like i could sleep for a week now i'm so drained from all the rushing and last minute organising and packing.

please stop talking about cheesecake and muffins. i would kill for some right now!

Aw Ginny you poor thing. Have you tried having a very cold sweet fizzy drink and lying quietly for a little while? they will usually react to that. I find that she responds very quickly after i've eaten too, but i'm not sure if thats because of the gesational diabetes. But she can be a bit crazy after i eat my lunch. Ive also pushed gently and felt her respond at times with a little kick or nudge and that's reassuring too.

I also find that she has her own active and sleeping times and she rarely moves in the morning but is like a mad thing at other times so your little baba might have been enjoying a nice snooze and was reluctant to be disturbed.

Regarding the fluid levels, how many weeks are you now? i know that fluid levels do fluctuate and can rise after falling. Try to drink as much water as you can to keep yourself well hydrated.

i know it's easier said than done but please try not to worry and i hope the scan goes well for you tomorrow.

Ginny hope youre not too stressed tonight. I usually find rubbing my belly makes wee man punch back but sometimes I can't get anything for love nor money if he's snoozing. I hope you get answers either way tomorrow re fluid levels. I've been very naughty re drinking enough and that showed today in my really low bp.

Well if baby comes now he/she will be well fit for the world.

Hope nyquist and two mums are doing fine with their new arrivals. Stork is on overdrive today.

Heading in there for 2.30 today, but the induction isn't scheduled until tomorrow.

Had a bit of a duh moment preparing for the hospital visit: I was doing a bit of lady gardening using the removal cream. Despite going in blind, I thought I had got everywhere... I waited the 7/8 minutes, then jumped in the shower to find all hair still stubbornly attached! When I got out, I realised I had used the bloody finishing cream!!! I'm still feeling like a tit over it

Yeah mamheidi you will be addicted now, we all need our next baby fix!

Haha that's so something I'd do. There was another girl a while back who, after her shower, rubbed toothpaste into her butt & tried to brush her teeth with her lotion.

Why do you have to go in at 2.30 today if not being induced til tomorrow? That would really bug me. But then it is exciting as well!

I asked my midwife re how long I'd have to stay in hospital if I ended up transferring. She said if baby is fine & I'm fine from the birth then I could ask to be let home same day & she'll look after me. But that all depends on how quickly can get pediatrician to check baby out.

Kildareash, regarding maternity benefit, my official date was July 10th, and i got my first (part) payment on Saturday 7th. I havent been working since June 27th as we were on a 3 day week and even though i will be having the baby on the 13th, my maternity leave will still run until January 10th 2013. You may be able to get a sick cert from your GP if you were advised not to work that last week? That way the company would pay you, or you can claim some days from social welfare. i think it's anything after three days sick leave that you can claim from welfare.



Well i had a fantastic nights sleep last night. Only woke once for the loo and now i feel so relaxed about Friday's induction. She is definitely snug and in position because my bump has dropped again and is more flab than baby! And the pain in my lower back persists, with a sort of stinging pain right on the inner points of my pelvis. (if those "points" exist, thats what it feels like )

i really should set up a facebook a/c. just to see all the little ones. Congratulations again to nyquist and TwoMums. Ye must be over the moon.

Oh that's tough with a toddler as well, I shouldn't be moaning about being tired!

Hopefully something will happen between now & next Thurs, would he not give you a sweep for a reason - ie; not "favourable" or did he say?

They're actually giving me my first lot of gel tonight, at about 10! So my plan of using this evening to chill out my brain and NOT freak out has now been changed... eep!

Currently waiting for a bed though - there are none free!

Grrr! Apparantly, Limerick maternity has a bed crisis, so some of us may be sent home until tomorrow.

As to who stays and who goes, no one is able to tell us yet! I'm getting very frustrated with it all
