in some ways he comes across bad but to say he is classless is wrong, plenty of class in all them acts up above and apparently there is many more such things he does like these that go unnoticed as in most cases the press find out from the receivers and not from him or his team

Any one know what time roughly will the fight start over here?

Floyd to dominate for 12 rounds if he doesn't get the stoppage in 10/11. Cotto might be competitive for the first 3 or 4 but nothing that will trouble Floyd!

I was making a point that he is not classless but a man who has negatives like most-plenty of class in examples above, seperatly his private life has no relevance to how good a boxer he is, when i watch Boxing I'm not watching the nicest guy going or the worst-simply watching who entertain me.

You have it well sorted, mate. That day I'd say the better half will do all the cooking, cleaning and child minding, and the next morning when you stagger out of bed sometime in the pm, a late fryup or tasty dinner awaits?:)

After the hames that Boxnation made out of the last fight and I saw it for free, I might just wait to see will it happen again...........

Me too. Looking forward to that Canelo scrap. I think Mosley will be really dominated. Might be sad viewing, as I like Shane as a fighter, and he seems a good guy too. At peak he was superb.

Passing of the torch and yes it can be quite sad-I just hope Shane makes Canelo have to show his stuff as at times he just seems to 1 dimensional.

Anyone out there rooting for a Cotto win? I am. I just think it would make crazy news, and would completely screw up the stale and hyped Floyd-Pac fight, which now no longer at all interests me.

Pac-Bradley? Not too bothered who wins here, but would probably like Manny to win.

Cotto seems like a genuinely nice guy and Mayweathers a twat but still want Floyd to win. He's the best around, pure class in the ring and I think we should enjoy him while he's around.

I like Manny but have gone on record saying I think Bradley might spring a shock so gonna be cheering on Tim in this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,619 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Main reason I'd like Manny to win is so he can sort of say to floyd, "ah, sure you're not all that, you're a beaten fighter," just like Floyd used to say when asked about fighting Manny.

Conversely, if Floyd wins and Manny loses, then Floyd may come into a lot of heat for refusing to face Manny and demanding tests. It's like, "Floyd, if Bradley can beat him without tests, why did you feel the need to demand tests?"

So fed up with the hype fight that I want to see a banana skin, one which Floyd slips on, as I believe he was the main stumbling block to the fight when it should have happened.

I think Floyd will win this by 3 or 4 rounds. Cotto is very likeable as a boxer, it would make great stuff to see him put PBF under serious pressure. I reckon Cotto will be pretty cut up around the eyes by the end.

One thing is for certain, I sure as hell hope that it doesn't turn out anything like the circus that was Mayweather - Ortiz. Would be rightly ****ed off if I sat up for that kinda rubbish again.

Anyone know who the referee is for this one?? Surely not Cortez?

That's a fantastic price !!! Cotto at 154 is going to be a hard nights work for Floyd , if cotto doesn't run out of steam or get frustrated he has a real chance here !!

I can see no way in which Cotto wins this on points. Only way I see him winning is if he catches Mayweather with a peach of a shot and stops him. Again unlikely. I'd love to be proven wrong but he's just on another level really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,619 ✭✭✭✭walshb

And if he's to win on points he will need to dominate. I feel that if this fight is in anyway close, PBF gets the nod.

More chance of Sugar shane beating Canelo

I think the fight being at 154 can give Cotto some chance. I dont Floyd will have it as much his way as some people think.

Buncey juts claimed that PBFs 32 million dollar guaranteed purse for the fight tomorrow is the higest in history. Highest purse in any single sports event I'd say.

Colonel Bob Sheridan is at the weigh in doing commentary. Excellent commentating voice.

rounds 3-4 key for cotto he really has to connect here to have a chance but speed is key to this fight so floyds to take. hope cotto does well, deserves this fight more than anyone.

Cotto didn't look that cut to me, but everyone keeps saying he's very comfortable at the weight so maybe it doesn't matter.

Great staredown. Cotto is made for them.

It was worse. It was the worst episode of 24/7 there has been. Even the normally reliable closing montage/monologue was really poor. HBO need to shake up that production team.

On the fight itself, it's going to be very interesting to see how well Cotto takes Floyd's shots and how good a job of stalking Floyd he's capable of doing. If you look back at the Cotto-Judah fight, Zab caught Cotto with a beautiful counter uppercut in the first round which wobbled Cotto pretty badly. Given that you'd expect Cotto to hammer the body in a similar fashion from the off tonight, and given Floyd's timing and accuracy, you'd expect to see Cotto's chin come in for a serious test early on. If he can take the shots and keep throwing back, he might well take Floyd somewhere uncomfortable and give him a real test.

I'd be suprised if PBF can get a KO here. He isn't the type of fighter to lay down a lot of leather and aggression, and less so at this stage in his career. This is what Cotto does not like. Marg and Manny both are pretty intense. Cotto is also no dummy. He won't simply be beaten up all night. He is well capable of defending, moving, duckin, diving, spoiling and even running. I see Floyd pot shotting to a clear win. Maybe he will up the pace and volume and we'll be in for a good action fight and a masterclass. I really hope Cotto tests Floyd and at least gives it his all. Hope he throws plenty of good and clever punches and applies some pressure to at least make Floyd respond intensely.
