Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They are joyriding around Damastown road and Avenue area. Seen it myself a few times over the last few months.

I nearly got clattered on the roundabout at the top of the avenue (Tyrrelstown left, Mulhuddart cemetery right) at around ten one night recently enough, an 04 Renault Scenic (which I thought at the time was an odd choice to be joyriding unless it was stolen), two civilians inc myself coming off the roundabout in different lanes given our starting position and a joyrider comes flying through the small gap in between us, fishtailing all over the place. On a hunch I went in to the Carlton and there he was doing doughnuts on the big roundabout the buses use before speeding off again, bunch of young lads in the car. Absolute scumbags, taking other people's lives in their hands essentially.

They are racing cars there up and down Damastown, I can hear it from my house most nights and also, where I work the lads come in and tell me when they've been out doing deliveries if there are big groups of them in Damastown at night time. I don't think the cars are stolen though, I think they own them.

    Same here, it's too exposed

There is a group of Fast and Furious type enthusiasts who meet in Damastown every so often, they have other locations they meet at. The cars are all modified and they drive them at speed up the hill there near Powerstown. Mostly foreign lads and not kids either.

I'd imagine the level of car theft means it's more than just kids looking for kicks.

those races have been going on for years now. they are organised, or just lads messing in their own cars.

Doesn't make them safe, or welcome, around those parts. Those roads are used constantly night and day, one day someone is going to die from a collision happening there between a racer and a person just driving past. People need to cop on and if they want to race cars do it on private car racing tracks.

Correct. And it's not like they're just going up the hill. Maybe we're talking about two different groups, but there's definitely lads flying around the roads that border Tyrrelstown etc, where folks are coming on and off roundabouts going to the shops, where fences beside footpaths have been knocked down by cars out of control etc, and these btards are gonna kill someone eventually. For what it's worth, the car I saw was in no way souped up, no muffler etc.

I'd be interested to know this too. I live on the main road and I haven't seen it

In fairness I have seen more checkpoints lately than would be normal on those roads.

Would love to know this too. I hear the cars on the road in Damastown because as I said my house practically backs onto that road but no joyriders.

Been noticing a van passing through the Clonsilla area and estates (Windemere/Aldemere/Portersgate/MountSymon) quite frequently over the last few weeks usually between 3.00 - 3.30am. Driving slowly up and down the estate roads with from what I can see two people in it. The side doors on the van (slide-doors) are both open which made me first think it was a milk van. However not a trace of bainne in sight.

From what I could guess I reckon they're on the lookout for easy pickings e.g. bicycles or unlocked motorcycles. With the frequency of break-ins in these areas lately I'm starting to believe people within the estates are sending the word out for "easy targets".

Are these on random days throughout the week or on specific days?

At the moment it appears to be random, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday just gone.

Large white van with a side door open? It's the Milkman - appears around 2-3am around Allendale

    Card skimmed.

Just to let you know I used the Ulster Bank machines outside the entrance to the Blanchardstown centre on Saturday afternoon, the machine on the left of the two beside Milano and by late Saturday/Sunday morning it had been used to make several transactions. Including sky bet, a voucher company in the UK and an online clothing company in the UK

My bank are tracking it at the minute but thought I would let people know.

It's not mine. It might be helpful for the owner to know whereabouts it was found. If you found it in West End but someone lost a key somewhere else then they'll know not to respond.

Not far from where the guy was stabbed to death on Saturday. What is going on in that area. Wasn't there another similar incident in Corduff recently, a gunfight in the middle of a housing estate?

That wasn't the point of the post. Attacks on women, on anyone, are serious. I recognised the photo of the park and didn't fixate on the headline.

An "interesting" read here about gangland crime in the area - not just Blanch but it's certainly part of it. Here we go again

Waterstown story is awful. At least she got away from him.

But considering this guy from a recent news story, with such a track record for serial behavior, and so many previous convictions was living in Carpenterstown...
If such people can actually be caught and convicted, they should not travelling abroad, and should be on a register.

There is some Garda presence around here everyday but it still doesn't deter them. I'm talking armed garda, vans, marked and unmarked cars. Never seen anything like it before.
