Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coverage was OK. Some crazy decisions made by TV editor - commercial break took precedence over the elite men going through half marathon?

On a separate note, is the Amsterdam marathon being shown on Eurosport next Sun?

RTE 1 7.30pm tonight - The Science Squad:

    The Science of Running
There has been an explosion in the popularity of running in Ireland in recent times. Aoibhinn gets into her running gear and takes a close look at how science is facilitating this passion, both from a physical and mental point of view with apps and monitoring technology, to gait analysis and clothing/footwear design.

Watched this. Pretty basic and the "personal trainer and running expert" certainly didn't seem to be a proper runner himself but the V02 max stuff was ok...

Felix Keny wins Valencia 2.07.13. Fastest on Spanish soil - organisers chuffed cos they've beaten Barcelona record!! Perfect day for it. Not a puff of breeze and temperature was about 16 degrees I believe.

Scullion 10th in the 4k race, Mulhare 2nd European (Europe winning team event). Any word on McCarthy's finishing position, last I saw was him in 18th but that was early on.

Britton sitting in 3rd with Treacy back in high teens/low 20s after 2 laps

Schumacher has some top class quality in their stable. Would love to see Solinsky get back to top form. His 10k US record is one of my favourite races in recent memory

Good interview. It was great to hear Collie sounding so positive again. He's been through the wars with injury issues in recent years since his 2011 break-through. Excited to see how he fares in the Euros and maybe will feature in Diamond League this year.

Great to see that this took off as last time I had a look I thought there wasn't a chance in hell of them raising the funds in such a short space of time

Looks like a gonna be a good weekend of racing so as I saw on TW's facebook a link to the British trials,

    http://www.athleticsweekly.com/news/britains-best-set-for-sheffield/

Also the New Balance GP should also have a stream (will put one up once I can track a reliable link)

You would think the IUAA. AAI, DCU, UCD, UCC, TCD athletic departments etc could string the finances together to pay aertv rather than hope that athletics fans would fork out their own money for coverage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,800 ✭✭✭thirstywork2

I do think athletes are very tight when it comes to paying into events such as the Nationals.I can also see the reason, would you see a premiership player pay into a match?
The livestream is fantastic,I struggle to make time to see these events with work ect.

Going forward surely the athletic departments should be looking at funding this.

McCarthy is pacing Coghlan over 1500m this weekend so should be interesting to see what JC can run.
