yeah i wasnt too thrilled with the trailer either but thankfully every other video i've seen of it looks boner inducing so im not worried

Some of the camera angles in that trailer are strange, you're looking at all out of context footage too, it looks much more fluid and nice in the beta footage when you see it in action properly. I'm not worried about it graphically as long as the framerate is more stable, if it plays the same as DS1 and is as tough and fun to explore then happy days.

The graphics don't bother me, it's kind of a trademark for Dark Souls, sure there wasn't really a marked improvement between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls graphics wise imo.

I also wouldn't worry too much.

That was a really odd trailer.. as someone else said, the camera was in some awful positions.

Also with the demo I played at EGX and the beta's the game looks great and the framerate was very good (outstanding at EGX)

If you thought Dark Souls looked good (which it did) then you'll be happy with Dark Souls 2.

I thought Demon's Souls had a better framerate myself, Dark Souls has more detailed environments. Parts of it look lovely, especially the Duke's Archives and Anor Londo, some parts not so much, looking at you Blightown!

The textures are pretty awful at times in that trailer, but that won't bother me once i'm playing. Once the area's look good, and the combat is as good as i'd expect it to be, i'll be happy (than angry, sad, anxious, delighted, angry, sad, angry etc...)

Depended on where you were in Dark Souls. Some spots were fine, others (I'm looking at you Blighttown) were like a slideshow.

But I am still optimistic!

The enemies are more Demon's Souls like than Dark and I'm happy with that. A slightly darker take on things fits right in with the series. The one thing Demon's Souls done better than Dark was the atmosphere and it looks like they're going back to that which can only be a good thing.

Not sure I agree.

demons was lacking in variety for me in terms of setting. Places like firelink, painted world, anor londo were welcome respites from the constant black of demons.

there is barely anythhing I dont think dark improved on imo.

Why aren't they releasing this on the next gen consoles? I was seriously considering buying a PS4 just to play this but only found out yesterday it's not going to be on it. Is it basically just a trick to get more money? Because I'm pretty sure even though I'll have it on PS3 I'd probably buy it for the PC/PS4 as well when they release it.

I don't mean the asthetics of the game which Dark did definitely improve upon but the atmosphere some of the areas created in Demon's was fantastic. Places like Stonefang tunnel and Latria which in my opinion Dark didn't quite reach the same heights of for tension and setting.

Being a console peasant pays off for once \:D/

I watched a couple of clips of it last night and the footage is much,much better looking than in that last trailer, really dynamic shadows and the like and much smoother player and enemy animation.

I'll have a ps3 as well, but i'm just not sure if i want to wait the small amount of time before it's released. Will wait till closer to release to decide i guess.

Wouldn't bother me at all if the game looked the exact same as Dark Souls. It's the gameplay that really counts here.

You can look funny in some armor setups alright, if you wear Artorias' armor with no helmet your head looks teeny.

It looks grand, not hugely impressive or anything but as long as it plays like Dark Souls and the framerate doesnt drop to flipbook proportions then happy days. Some of the enemies in those pics looks look, not quite sure about the

mummy type thing

though.

Does anyone know if the pc version is been developed by a dedicated dev team or will we have to wait for 3rd party code to get decent resolution/frame rate?

My ps3 has kicked the bucket(well kinda, the only game it will play is modern warfare 2 for some reason)so that isnt an option.

Some of the textures are quite rough but to be honest I couldn't care less if it's the exact same Dark Souls engine and graphics if it means more effort went into the content, world and game mechanics.

Indeed, I hope they keep the branching levels instead of the hub approach of Demon's Souls, seeing the areas start to link together and figuring out the quickest route to and from places is great.

Most are secret so I assume story based, the rest are carbon copied from the 1st game.

Someone should set them selves a challenge to get all of them before they get the "this is dark souls" one, that person won't be me though :pac:

I'd say a fair few of the secret ones will be covenants as was the case in the first game. Sure is a lot of them though, bound to include weapon upgrades as well.
