Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't base any purchasing decisions on a review from iVerge.

My ship date is still the 28th with Amazon. The item that has slipped to April 12th is not supplied by amazon, its supplied by "Ur Mobile", actual option to purchase / pre-order direct from Amazon is not listed on the site currently....well thats what I'm currently trying to convince myself at the moment :D

And just got the email from Amazon confirming the delay until April 12th...

Cnet couldn't even get a brand new one to do an unboxing I see as well. These babies are gonna be very rare it seams! Another android phone that will fail to meet demand!

I was sure i was going to get the Samsung S4 having had the S2 for the last two years and the HTC legend before that but the HTC ONE just looks too good. I know the S4 is more powerful but i love the look of the HTC so reckon thats the direction i'll go.

Is there any idea of pricing? i'm toying with the idea of buying sim free (i got my contract down to a sim only rolling contract for only 20euro with three and dont fancy bumping it up again to 60 a month for 18 months ha)

Sorry for what may be a newbie question but Im on bill pay with meteor and have the HTC one (utterly excellent phone BTW) but Im on contract til Nov this year. Do ye reckon they will allow me to upgrade handset with them? Any news on pricing if so?

Not if its November. One or two months away max, but not that many :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 271 ✭✭alanzo27

I've taken the plunge and went on contract with Three. Hopefully I will have no problems, I've heard horror stories in regards to their business practices and customer care, especially some of the stuff here on Boards. :/

Where did you see the SIM free price? 600 isn't far off what it's going for in the UK

Just under their prepay phones, down the bottom. Think you have to buy €20 sim with it though.

Are all three phones SIM free?

I was told by people in the 3 store that the phone would be locked to their network when I enquired about buying. I don't know for sure if it is though, a lot of networks say that they lock the phone when they don't bother.

I know my One X wasn't network locked (on another network) even though they said it was locked when I bought it.

Are all three phones SIM free?

In the past the first batch of phones released have generally been unlocked. The later batches are normally locked.

Is the phone already out yet? I read on HTC's website that it's going to be released this Friday.

I can't imagine there would be a huge amount of preorders in so I'm hoping to pick it up on vodafone pre pay and then look into 48 as it looks like a great deal.

Went past a 3 store and a Vodafone store this morning while doing a couple of jobs. Neither of them knew much.

The woman at the Vodafone store said that they get deliveries on a Tuesday and Friday, so if they are selling it from tomorrow it will literally arrive on the day.

My Samsung TV will allow streaming from my galaxy note 2 or Lumia 800,but I couldn't find an option to share it on the screen HTC One X. I could only see share it, which was for sending it, not watching. Media link thing didn't work with my TV

Just download Skifta or something similar... It'll work a breeze.

    150 euro for 35pm over 2 years.

Not bad especially with new Vodafone plans that are quite good. It's a shame they don't have any other colours than gray.

I have to go to a store to upgrade, was on a friends and family plan with VF. The store I called said they may have it in tomorrow though

    They better !

That total cost column is a myth as you are getting mins/texts/data for the duration.

    Was going to buy a ready to go and stick with my sim-free package (€579 + (24 x €27) = €1227), but for an extra €8 per month, that looks like a good deal from VF (€150 + (24 x €35) = €990). Am I missing something? I'm suspicious:rolleyes:

The 24 month thing would bother me, but I've got nearly 2 and 1/2 out of my Desire HD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,042 ✭✭✭allen175

The only bad thing about the vodafone offer is the length of the contract(but that is becoming the norm) and only having 500mb of data, the One will easily rip through that allowance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,411 ✭✭✭ofcork

It may not i have a one s and get through around 400mb a month on the network away from wifi.

Myth? It's euros that you are paying. What you are using the euros for is a different discussion.

I just did the comparison for total price mostly. The data allowance for Three was based on their crap "flex units" thing. I.e. don't use the units for calls or texts, just data. So, a best case scenario for a smartphone.

(what, you get a new smartphone and you don't use all the data? You're doing it wrong.)
