Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gona be an early rise that morning hope it will be as good or better than the last race so. Such a pity that ITV and UTV will not go digital so people can pause, rewind and record there programs. Then I would watch them channels so much more.

Can you not record it on Sky either?

Sky doesn't get ITV or UTV. You can manually add it, but you can't record manually added channels.

There was a thread on Satellite forum a while back about how to make ITV channels recordable. Will have look later for it...

***Edit: Found the thread - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056353483 but unfortunately Sky have copped onto it.

See Post #1 for the instructions on how to add recordable channels. Seems to only work for DRX 890/895 boxes now (Page 164, Post #2446)

Next race starts at around 6am. Prost set the fastest time, but starts 11th after his penalty post-Beijing. Servia on pole :D

Good race. I think there was more action today than last race.

Two races, two times that Heidfeld has suffered at the hands of French drivers. :o

I agree it was a very good and exciting race with lots of action and overtaking and skilled driving too.
Was a nice track too better than the last track they raced on.
Heidfield was unlucky but at least this time was not as bad a crash as last time. Maybe he wil be third time lucky in Uruguay and get to finish or even win the race.

All this driver changing is really damaging the sport IMO. Are the teams subject to the same rules as F1? Max 4 drivers per season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,684 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Ok, so the race is tomorrow - qualy at 2pm with the race at 6pm. Race coverage on ITV4 from 5pm (satellite channel in ROI).

don't forget to fanboost your favourite driver when the wbesite is working again

Good to see that JEV has got somewhere to race so quickly even if it ain,t F1. Should be interesting to see how he does in these cars and wahat he makes of them. Can,t believe the next race is almost here. That month went by quickly.

Well, at least they're showing it twice.

Then again, it's ITV4, they've not much else to broadcast besides 70s/80s shows. :p

Well done to JEV his first time to race in these new Formula E cars and he gets pole position. It must be a big difference driving one of them compared to an F1 car that has an engine noise. Will be interesting now to see how he does in the race thats going to be a bit harder as he will have to manage his battery energy too and not use to much of it. This is the first Formula E race that is being watched much closer by media now that all the oter races have finished up. Am hoping it will be a good race.

If Heidfeld had no bad luck, he'd have no luck at all. At least this time the French drivers remained innocent.

Pity Vergnes car crapped out near the end, looked like he had a good chance of challenging for the win

Well JEV drove a great race for his first time driving in Formula E was a pity that his suspension broke so close to the end. Hopefully he will have better luck next time.
As for Heidfield maybe next time he will have better luck. Overall it was a good race but not as exciting as the first two races. I look forward to the next one in Brazil on January 10th.

This race is round 4 of the Formula E championship. It is in Buenos Aires in Argentina. It is like a home race for the current Formula E points leader Lucas di Grassi.
Sebastaun Buami is in pole for the race. The race starts in 40 mins but the preview is on now.

    Pity he crashed in qualifying...

7pm yes, 1hr build up (pre show) does feel a bit too long :pac:

would prefer if they showed replay of full qualifying or more quilifying highlights for most of this hour

Thanks, sorry I edited my post after I found out on the ITV4 coverage.

I agree, they want to treat it like F1 it seems and I don't watch much of the F1 coverage before a race starts when it is on.

This safety car looks like it might mess up a few peoples races

Did look like Heidfield might have overtaken under the yellows?

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,752 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

What a mistake by Buemi. He really showed his disappointment.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,752 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

They took long enough to give Sam Bird his deserved penalty.

As I was saying, Heidfeld penalty out of the blue for pitlane speeding.

My first Formula E race to watch, I like this.

All got a bit messy near the end

  • Registered Users Posts: 166 ✭✭Tockman

That was exciting. The safety car confused the drivers positions

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,684 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

the short nature of the track really didn't help the safety car scenario. might have to watch it again to figure out what happened when!

I enjoyed the race. It did get of to a slow start do but after the safety car it was certainly a very different race a lot more exciting. There was some good overtaking in it and fair racing too. A pity that Heidfield broke the pit lane speed as he could have got some really good points here. Maybe it was not his fault will have to wait till we here more to know for sure. Maybe he will do better at the next race in 2 months time.

How does it feel to drive a car faster than Hispania?

Dario Franchitti (Formula E Commentator) was on the Motorsport magazine Podcast this moth and gave his opinions on Formula E.

    Essentially he said that;
    • Its off to a good start
    • the low downforce and slidey cars have led to exciting racing
    • the city centre circuits have been good for the crowds
    • the cars have got to be faster

I agree with him on pretty much all of that, especially the speed of the cars. the racing is close but it looks slow. I'm looking forward to it getting to the US next month and the races in Europe should be really interesting!
