Shut-lines along the sides of the bonnet align, but the lights and bumper don't. Something fishy going on there.

    How about this one?
Nice to see an LS430 in this price region. Father had a new one years ago. Very comfortable, if a bit ugly.

drivers seat plastic surround is also cracked heavily, possibly from a side airbag

the only time an irish ad has ever said 'fully loaded' and meant it. Has the adaptive suspension on it too, which is a very expensive system to fix if it breaks, would need to be checked.

Everything in them is mechanical, right down to the door and boot closers (close the doors to the first latch, and it pulls it all the way closed).
I know of one in which the steering wheel adjustment motor seized, so it was stuck at its highest setting. Fixed under warranty though.

Reliability of a Toyota but with a hell of a lot more to go wrong.

If it's good enough for the president of France, surely it ranks as a luxobarge.

In fairness he's restricted by notions like 'patriotism' and such.'twould give him a bad imagine to be driven in anything non-French...

True but that's why they take it in turns to produce a high end car. With the exception of the Vel Satis, I think they've been pretty successful. Citroen suspensions aside, I don't think they'll ever be groundbreaking like the S Class but certainly capable of matching up to an S Type!

I hope someone gets landed with that offer (what happens legally speaking? Can you claim its a joke bid because you were taken in by the tone of the ad)

I think this is great value for money, others like it (without wide sat nav) are asking 2.5k more. A bit over the 4k limit... Someone said they were asking 3950 yesterday, I don't believe it :)

To be a barge, I think it would have to be a 7 series.

Legend is a sweet luxobarge, but thats asking a lot of money for one.

The Legend is one thirsty bus in comparison to similar sized barges.

You can argue whether a 9-5 is a luxobarge or not. Ordinarily.

But when it's a 3.0 petrol turbo, and flappy paddle gearbox - and both heated - and cooled ! - leather seats, it's definitely not yer average 9-5.

In any other universe I'd buy it, but it's simply not do-able for me atmo, which is a pity: this is the nearest thing you'll find to a new one, condition-wise (interior). See it HERE.

    Connection to me ? - it's my brother's....... :( sad day all-round :(

Not mentioned in the ad (???) is the fact that it is NCT'd, had highest spec Koni's fitted a while ago and fitted with LPG as well.

The LPG kit alone cost 1100 last year: rip it out, sell it on, and the car would be for free !!

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

If it were my brother I'd be straight on the blower to him to tell him to include the LPG/NCT info and bump the price closer to 2k!

The old ones no. But the last one, at 197 inches, I think it qualifies.

...LOL - size matters, huh ?

...at least with the older ones you can run them on a pittance. They made an awful lot of them, over a long period. Running gear and the like of a lot of parts can be found in breakers everywhere.

The latter ones however...........wouldn't fancy having to buy certain parts for them.....

True, but they're gorgeous cars. On my wish list, and damn the possibilities.

I'd suggest removing the word "mint" from that ad, unless the car actually tastes or smells minty. It's a stupid word, most often used by stupid people, entirely incorrectly.

Looks great; great condition for 13 years old. Not gone on the colour but if you get desperate before the "emigration", let me know your lowest price. Would probably prefer the 850.

Thanks I do too. :D Though I frequently get the feeling people underestimate the value/cost of an 850CSi!
Landed cost of an 850CSi is approx EUR22k, its an entirely different league! The LHD models are even more expensive.

Silver wouldnt be my preference either were I spec'ing it, but man are silver cars easy to clean and live with.

Landed is not really an issue for me as I still live in London abeit with at least 25% of time in Dublin. That being said I am seriously considering breaking my 12 cyl virginity with the car below. Not sure if it'd be too clinical; seem to recall you see the v8 as the sweetspot.
