yeah i always hate it when shows do that, and you knew root would be around also cause amy acker was listed,

What a cracking ep, great action, fantastic music, some more movement in the arc. It would appear agents working for the machine get a blue square?

Love this show from the start.
    A quiet winner.

Another excellent episode. When the traditional opener started and then suddenly "crashed" I knew we were in for something special.

So what are they actually doing with the numbers being spat out? Who is intercepting them and changing them to their own ends?

Also: Finally got to see Mickey Doyle shot in the head! Who's laughing now Mickey!

Total gamechanger episode and really well done IMO. Very nice to see the super hot Sarah Shahi got a new job after they axed Fairly Legal too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,286 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

As was already pointed out, Research(or whoever really deals directlywith the machine) just gets a number from the machine, like Finch. But thought Finch got the number because that's all he could get without being noticed. Surely those in charge of the machine can get more info.

Anyway, good episode and curious to see how Sarah gets back into it.

Just got caught up on the past 8 episodes. I like how they're referencing previous episodes, bringing back characters like Leon and the appearance of Bear's previous owner.

I do notice the machine is telling itself to keep track of potential threats like that social network founder

Even Research only gets a number; in the episode Super (S01e11) they state the machine was specifically built to hide the details that caused the machine to zero in on someone so as to protect peoples 4th amendment rights from unreasonable searches although saying that Finch did have access to all the detailed information while he was developing the machine but that access was lost once it went into production and the system was encrypted to prevent further modifications.

It's possible it's legit. I watch Californication and it's an episode ahead of the calendar for what ever reason.

Edit: I haven't seen anything about it myself so I imagine it is fake but I wouldn't dismiss it just because your TV calendar says otherwise.

Nah, Showtime's episodes are from an On-Demand service. CBS does nothing of the sort.

Leon's becoming a familiar character by now

Wonder what was causing the blue screens in the machine. The virus?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,533 ✭✭✭don ramo

we need a lot more shaw, she a brilliant character, and it will be interesting to see what shes does with root, also be nice to see other blue squares, maybe in season 3,

im surprised they killed off beecher, i really thought he would be sticking around for a while, and offed by the godfather and all, im surprised he was that naive really, when the FBI didnt recruit carter cause she associated with him i would have thought he was already well in with HR and knew the rules, but now it looks like the feds know more than their letting on,

Another excellent episode. Fusco's past is really catching up to him and I liked how Carter finally made a (ethically tough) question. John was quite right to point out how she sees thing too much in black-and-white especially when John himself has done dodgy things.

Main storyline was good too with the victim dying. And they rightly voiced the question of what was going on to lead into an ending where even the closing credits began to break down...

Yep, cracking episode alright. Glad to see Fusco got a reprieve. There was a scene in the wilderness where he was eyeing the holster of the Internal Affairs guy, so I thought he might have done something stupid.

Really can't wait to see what they do next...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,533 ✭✭✭don ramo

another cracking episode, but i do wonder did HR move the body or did they stand off fusco cause they have noting else on him, i could really tell from yermans expression was he surprised the body was gone, or giving fusco a dirty look as in saying we own you,

It was clearly yer wan that works with him. The muddy paws on the dog gave it away.

Yep - Carter finally decided to get off her high moral ground and side with Fusco. She won't be happy though that she's compromised herself for him so it will be interesting to see if that plays out a bit further.
I'm hoping they ease off on Fusco a bit - he has done bad things but, as he's said, he's not that person any more. Wonder how long HR will continue then and will they be sorted this season or - more likely - will the finale be focused on Root?

    What an utterly fantastic episode.
Absolutely ANYTHING could happen in next week's finale.

Another excellent episode - lots happening here, almost too much happening as lots of plots started dovetailing towards each other. John now in control? What did Root hear? Harold wasn't the original noble knight - did he inadvertently cause his friend to die? The machine has a consciousness - and Harold has been killing it?
Wonder how the finale will play out.

Wonder what the machine said in those phonecalls, the set-up for the series finale is brilliant.

Unlike many other shows, this has gone from strength to strength with each episode.Just as you think a character has slipped into the background they are brought back into play brilliantly and not just as fillers to move a storyline along.

    Season 2 finale tonight.....God Mode.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,534 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    Hmmmm..........

Not too sure about this. Apart from the revelation what happened to Nathan, and how Grace and Harold finally split up, did anything really worthwhile happen in this episode?

I was expecting some monster plot developments after last week's fantastic episode, but this just felt a bit empty.

So I wasn't alone in feeling just a little bit disappointed by this then. It didn't quite feel like a finale or a game changer, more like a regular season episode. We filled in a few more blanks I guess.

    No Fusco either! Boo!

I suppose the potential game changer is the end. Who rang Root? Was it the machine again? I'm making a guess that it's forked - there's two machines for the next season and one is attuned to her.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

I still enjoyed it. I agree it didn't feel like the ending for the season. There wasn't a huge cliffhanger.

But I must say the female leads this season really added a lot more to it, it definitely helped it not be as procedural as last season. Each episode built towards something, I suppose thats why we feel a bit let down by this episode.

    Still, roll on September!

Overall,I enjoyed it.Carter becomes more embroiled in the goings on of HR and some more players in the game have their places cemented for next season.
Ruth will be back now that the machine contacted her in the mental hospital.

A couple of funny moments such as when they crashed through the barrier & took the EMT's chopper & when Reese congratulated the wedding party after shooting the disgruntled ex.

thats a rather odd decision to make, POI and Elementary have made a decent partnership this season, youd wonder why they would separate them, i really do wonder what goes on in some of the scheduling rooms at times,
