Lads, I was wondering if anyone has seen the Isopure zero carb drink for sale in Ireland or if you can buy it online?
I don't want the powder as I struggle to keep down the shakes.
    Thanks.

I ordered some unflavoured whey isolate 90 and BCAA last week through BulkPowders.ie and found their selection and prices very competitive. (They're running a 15% sale at present) Postage included for orders in excess of €60.

If registering and ordering use referral code: ATTVKB and you'll get €5 off your first order over €15.

Hi, not sure if I'm in the right place. I'm just wondering if anybody has tried Jim stoppani 12 week shortcut to muscle and size.

Probably better to start your own thread for this as it's not supplement related!

However since you asked I've used that program and his "shortcut to shred" program" on and off over the last few years with good results.

Shortcut to size definitely helped! I was out of action for quite a while after injuring my wrist and that program helped me to build my strength up quick and I ended up beating most of my personal 1 rep max on most exercises by the end of it.

Hi Folks got plenty of good advice here on supplements but think I need to change the brands.

I bought Holland and Barrett zinc capsules and magnesium capsules.

The zinc gives me terrible lower abdomen pain and plenty of toilet trips.

Anyone else suffer like this trying to find the correct brand for your digestive system?

Do you mean separate for each or the combo tablets?

If the former, you might just be a bit intolerant to it. I tried them and no problems.

If it's the max strength ones, try the high strength.

If that doesn't work, then either try the zinc policinate (others, even combos, are zinc gluconate)....or switch to a different/better brand with a better absorption rate.

yep the zinc are 25 mg zinc gluconate and then 100mm magnesium citrate

I have the 25mg zinc picolinate version. You could try reducing the strength you have to the 15mg high strength caps or change the formula. If neither work, change to a different brand. The likes of The Protein Works have combo capsules of magnesium citrate and zinc methionine.

Are you sure it's the zinc? magnesium usually causes that

Can happen with zinc as well albeit not all that often.

MyProtein Whey Protein – Convenient and more economical than eating meet 5/6 times a day.

MyProtein Creatine – Just started this. Want to see if its worth it.

Multivitamins – As an insurance policy in case I lack in vitamins.

Omega-3 fish oil tablets – I don’t eat fish so I guess this could be the next best thing.

I like it to be honest! I didnt get any 'pins and needles' from the beta alanine, so far I have never had any post workout crashes and the fruit punch flavour tastes very good.

Overall I would say its a good product although I will be buying tier 1 or MTS clash next time based on there profiles

Quite possibly in a minority but I don't buy into using pre workouts. Well, not on a regular basis. You only end up relying on it a but more than you should.

That said, maybe that's just the naiveté of a relative beginner.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 Paddy_PT

    I have a love/hate relationship with them.

This week i love them :) .... however I know that it is a placebo effect but if it gets you through your workout and you can afford them then why not take a pre?

If you cant afford it then a good stong coffee will do the job

When I'm training to a program, then I do what I have to do regardless of whether I'm feeling it that day. It might make me squeeze out an extra rep on a given day but that's about it.

They were different before the banned ingredients. Jack3d and original craze did drive you more in your work out but they also covered over issues with your diet and sleep as well.

Preworkouts these days just aren't the same.

    Agreed.

The supplement industry have done a great job in brainwashing the masses that in order to workout, you need a pwo.

Obviously continuous use of them does a lot more harm than good, but some people have built such a reliance on them, there not capable of cycling off.

Granted, there not as strong as they use to be, because of the banned substances that were removed. Even so, people wonder why they don't get anything out of them, its simple there tolerance to these stimulants, the main one ofcourse being caffeine, is way to high.

If regular pwo takers who complain a paticular brand doesnt work or its no good for them etc, were to go stimulant free or at least cut caffeine entirely out of their diet for a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks, were to then go back and try the pwo that doesn't work for them, I've said this here before, mark my words it will hit you like a train.

People abuse them, one way ticket to frying you're central nervous system, not to mention what it does to you're heart, without any physical exertion.

I'm anti pwo by the way :).

I regulary consume preworkouts and absolutely love them. I find they help me concentrate on what I'm doing. I cycle off them 7 days before competition to get my tolerance levels down and then drink all the preworkouts on comp day

^ Bulk Powders, in case anyone wondered.

The 2.5kg is normally €39.99 so it's just shy of €30 off for the two.

Ive read an article which i am trying to hunt down which suggested that many Bulk powder companies import their whey from China and there is no control on them.

Brands like Kinetica and ON are tested for impurities and have stringent testing and controls which is absent in other bulk providers.

can anyone shed soem light on this?

    Hi,

So I've started a new weights programme over the last week and it must be working (or starting to) because I'm having serious cravings for chicken and my appetite has gone up rapidly in the last couple of days. Ideally I'd like to have a protein shake after a workout, but I'm (very) lactose intolerant so whey protein is out completely, absolute no can do. Also trying to avoid soy based products as it seems like it's really not that good for you to consume so I'd rather limit my soy intake to my coffee in the morning.

Does anyone know of any genuinely lactose-free and soya-free protein shakes?

I was looking at this: http://www.bulkpowders.ie/shop-by-category/post-workout-supplements/protein-shakes/peptopro.html

Any good? Claims to be lactose free which would be supported by the zero-carbs claim.

I'm not after anything to turn me into super-woman, just need something to down after a workout to make the most of my efforts in the gym! Had a look at the snack shop in the gym the last time I was there and literally all of the protein bars were based on whey...

This is the only time I find it completely acceptable to use whey isolate. Otherwise I consider it over priced whey.

The link you posted is described as some form of Casein protein. Casein is similar to Whey in that they're both derived from Milk production afaik, so I doubt that would suit you if you're lactose intolerant.

There are plenty of non-soya lactose-free proteins out there. MyProtein sell Beef, Pea, Rice, Hemp, Egg and other types of protein. They're not as good value as Whey, but they're still a good option if you want lactose free. Bulkpowders do some of those types aswell.

Would give it a go on that basis but not gone down that road before.

Does the bulkpowder offer end at midnight or is it still valid tomorrow day ?

I took the plunge and bought my first pre workout in over a year from discount supplements. I went with C4 after seing several positive reviews online. I was going to go with the new gold standard pwo but it looks a bit of a gimmick seing that ON alredy have platnium pre on the market. But C4 seems to be the go to pwo at the moment, has anyone here tried it?

I know I'm a little late to the party on this, and I've said something similar before, but: there's absolute nothing wrong with soy protein. It has been weirdly demonised for no reason and the science shows it is very good for you. Not quite as bioavailable as whey but pretty close.
