Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Checked my balance to see if I was broke yet and found my grant just resting in my account.. In September? Must be a serious glitch in the system been 2 months earlier than previous years

The grant division of Cork CoCo don't start til Xmas,
    And even then,
That's to take and burn random bits of legislation and claim it got lost in transit...
    Bastards...

    They're a bit of a joke.

I've been trying to get through to them for three solid weeks to stop my grant payments this year with no success. :P

I'm supposed to do that too,
    Must get around to it...

Double post, but today has been a good day. :o

Started off with a really positive meeting with my lecturer at which he basically told us we were sorted. Spent 90 minutes working on the project in CSIS, finished off everything I realistically hoped to do. Then, despite unexpected glitches at the beginning, we successfully installed it on the department's laptop.

To top it off, had a chat with my course director about 3rd year, and he basically told me to choose whatever module I wanted to replace one I did in 2nd year but got moved in the re-shuffle.

    So wooooo! :D

    Didn't notice it coming in,
Walked straight past it going into the large room dead ahead on the entrance. (Dunno if it has a name :P)

Came out, glanced to the left and there it was,
    Huge,
    Dno how I missed it,
Should have one for every floor :P

I never got to see it last year because I was never in for study week, but it's lovely.:) There should be and it should be an all year round thing.:D I nearly wanted to do my study under the tree! It genuinely brightened up the place though! It's called the reading room I think (or at least that's what I call it:P)! Sad I won't get to see the big Christmas tree being turned on, but I had to go home!:(

Probably did see it last year,
    But forgotten :/
    It's a lovely tree,
Must see where they got it,
    Looked very traditional :)
Will call it that from now on anyway,
    Makes sense really,
Newspapers and leisure books and whatnot..
I never saw it get turned on but I've seen it since,
Awards for size but plain enough,
Could benefit from a bauble here and there and a bit of tinsel grafted onto it... :P

Just got word I've made the interview stage for the PLUS school-university partnership in UL! Delighted :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,174 ✭✭✭1huge1

Got accepted into the financial services masters at UL, so after graduating last year in business studies with German (economics and finance major) I am coming back to UL and honestly can't wait :-) This whole working thing and getting up at 9am loses its novelty very fast.

By the way, took a drive around UL the other day, anyone know when the real time information for the bus stop will start working? Seen it in Dublin and cities around Europe, very handy

Had to go hunting to find this,
    Almost 2 months back!
    Sad times...
    Good day though :)
Due to a mix up with exam papers,
We never started exam til 55 minutes after we were due to.
Some people had to leave at 6 though (should've been 4-6 exam) so she said we only had to answer 50, she said we may as well answer 100 as she'll be taking best 50 out of them...
    100 MCQ's, majority a, b or c.
    Almost a guaranteed A1 :)

I'm going to post this here, even though I'm not 100% thrilled.

I got an A2 in my module! Took me two years, but I've finally passed 2nd year! :D:D:D:D:D

Only disappointing thing is that my QCA only went up from 3.11 to 3.16, but I've got two years to try and scrape it up to 3.31 or higher to try and get the 1st class honours. :)

Years 3 and 4 have double weighting so you should be fine. I went from 2.48 to 3.61 in 3rd year CompSys. It was a lot of work though (6 A1, 2 A2 and 2 B1) but very doable and you've learned the hard way, like myself, it's easier to put the work in at the time!

Indeed. Lesson most definitely learned! :)

And I got a letter the other day saying that I don't have to do the Data Structures module next semester, I get to do Data Mining instead. Given that I failed DS but couldn't repeat it this year due to course changes, I'm = :D

I don't know. From what I've seen 4th year, at least, has double weighting in most courses. I know CompSys (and I assume Computer Games also) have double weighting in both 3rd and 4th year.
