Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Awesome :) biomedical science!

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 Velvet Daffy

Is that the joint honours with CIT? I heard that's a great course

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 901 ✭✭✭xLisaBx

Yeah it is, it looks fun anyway! I was considering Medicine for a bit but I chickened out haha. I know nobody staying close to CIT though :/

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 Velvet Daffy

I had Biomed after Medicine :P I'm a good bit away. One of my flat mates has a long trek to CIT every morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 901 ✭✭✭xLisaBx

It's a common backup to medicine, because you get loads of exemptions for postgraduate med if you do biomed first :P I'm sure loads of people have to walk to and from the colleges, is your flatmate doing biomed?

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 Velvet Daffy

Would you consider post grad? Nah she's doing multimedia

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 901 ✭✭✭xLisaBx

Nah. It wasn't the points that put me off Medicine it was the fact I'd hate to work with people. Lab work behind the scenes would suit me better :)
Ah nice one, there's a connecting bus so she'll be fine :P

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 Velvet Daffy

Oh god people don't get me started :P There's always research :P Will you be taking that bus? Or is most of your course in CIT?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 901 ✭✭✭xLisaBx

People! People everywhere! *Hides in a corner*
I will be yeah, like I'll walk when it's nice but not in the rain :P its about a 50/50 split!

50/50 isn't too bad. Less likely to get bored of the one environment or one group of people

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,327 ✭✭✭sunbabe08

Gah, first day, orientation day for mature students. Sigh went in excited & nervous & half expecting some one to tap me on the shoulder & go nope, put you go. But I feel very calm right now. :-D

I will be there on the 3rd of September for academic orientation.

Extremely helpful, out of 1000 mature students only 300 got through :-) kept telling us we belong here, there going to say the same thing to you guys, because Ye worked your butts off to get into ucc & to get the course Ye want. we had to do an entrance exam, interviews (in some cases) & write a personal statement. A lot of people like me worked up the fetac ladder as well. We all deserve to be here. I'm still in a state of shock to be honest they I got accepted, let alone I'm now registered with ucc.

Also any one question you ask they've heard it & will help you in anyway they can. Only stupid question there is, is not asking one.

Access to the Mardyke is included as part of the capitation fee (including free gym classes, which is fantastic) so as such it is free as you don't have to pay anything extra, of all the universities in Ireland its by far the best deal!
